I Want to be a Police Officer could be better, but it has some good qualities. The photos, while a little outdated do show a wide diversity of police officers and capture the job of an officer well. This book also covers a wider range of police officer duties from patrolling parks, working with police dogs, and a little bit on how they solve crimes. My kids enjoyed having a little more information to answer some of their questions.

A teacher can do so many activities with books like this such as a career day. The students can dress as the future profession they want to be, or they can even bring their parent to school for career day so that the parents can explain to the children what they do for a living. Realistic books such as this one can really add a good touch to the classroom.
