I just finished another good book in this series. As usual I liked the main and secondary characters in the book. I thought the story moved at a good pace and for the most part made sense lol. He did a good job with the location and the dialogue. I gave this book a little lower grade than the first two books in the series for a couple of reasons. I thought maybe the action scenes were too many and maybe a little over the the top. I do not think that is his best talent when it comes too writing, he is ok at it but not great maybe that will improve in future books in the series. I also thought he tries to hard sometimes at the end of the book to surprise the reader with who the bad guy was lol. At least for me the murder case part of the book was too twisty confusing and turning. I did like the book it is worth reading . I would give it around a 3.3 stars. I will read the next book in the series and I do say give it a spin.

But Not Forsaken is another excellent mystery by Bourg; it’s well written and capturing from the start, which is why I love this series so much. Also, I love Clint Wolfe! This book has a bit more action and suspense than the last two, which made it even better. It’s filled with many twists and shocking discoveries. But Not Forsaken is an excellent stand-alone book, but I feel knowing the history and Clint’s past experiences made me love it even more. I want to add that I love the narrator, or should I say his voice, as much as the stories, if not more. I rate this with 5 Boundless stars, and I highly recommend this to all mystery lovers! http://www.boundlessbookreviews.com https://www.facebook.com/BBReviews

I really enjoyed this story, it's the best in the series so far. It has some shocking surprises, heartbreak, loss, great action and heart pounding suspense. The twists and revaluation will keep you glued to the story and your heart will both break for Clint Wolfe but also rejoice for him too. The narration fit the bill perfectly, bringing the characters to life and keeping you engrossed in the story. This is a really entertaining story with characters you can not help but like and feel for. I really enjoyed this story, it's the best in the series so far. What’s not to like about this book?: 1] I like crime fiction, 2] B.J. Bourg is a good story teller and accomplished writer, 3] I am familiar with humidity, mosquitoes swarming, Louisiana swamp gas, and people with names ending ..eaux. Although I thought the earlier books in the Clint Wolf series were great -> each subsequent novel is even better!

This book is so chocked full of action that, if you’re not paying attention, you’ll have to rewind! The Parker bros...aka murderers...are not afraid of the small town police force...as a matter of fact, they stage an all-out assault on the building. After recovering from that assault, Clint is faced with the death of yet another who is close to him. Needless to say, Clint is super busy...and at the end makes a life altering decision. Always enjoy how each book wraps up but also gives a teensy glimpse into the next book...evil genius...lol. I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Three books in and I was wondering whether it was time to take a break from the series - too many cliffhangers for starters. And then B. J. The murderers of his wife and daughter have come to town to hunt Clint Wolf down - and they've brought some serious weaponry with them. Susan is still staring down the barrel of a prison sentence. Cliff and Chloe are working things out. 'But Not Forsaken' is a slow burn at first but rapidly ignites into a conflagration. Just as you think you've reached the end there is an explosive restart involving infidelity, double crosses and murder. One thing that became increasingly clear is that feelings do play a part in police work, bad people are immediate suspects but your friends and acquaintances not so much - it takes a lot of investigation to make you change course mid-stream. The first half of the book is probably 3 Stars, the second closer to 5 - overall it's a very solid 4 Stars, And this time there is no question of a cliffhanger.

This third book in the Clint Wolf series wraps up a story arc that woven through the first three books. It also deals with a murder that has connections to a twenty year old murder. There’s also the twenty year old murder of the DA’s wife that pops back up on the radar as a result of his vendetta against Susan. Then there relationship issues and trust, lying and cheating become predominant themes. It’s exciting on all fronts. It all comes together in a satisfying ending that could wrap things up but fortunately there are more books to come in this small town with these main characters.

This is the third Clint Wolf story, the second I've listened to. It picks up right after the events of the second book. Susan Wilson is now being arrested on the command of the district attorney, and Clint needs to find out why he seems to hate Susan so much. Add to that, a family from his past comes gunning for Clint and they will take down everyone in their path to achieve the most harm and heartache for Clint. There is two plots in this one, the one involving Susan and the D.A. and the one with Clint's past, and both of them collide. This has the feel of the ending of the series; a wrapping up of plot lines.

Fast-paced and well-narrated mystery. This one was interesting and had a lot of mystery to it. One of the things about this book that some will like and some won't, is that it has several mysteries that are basically consecutive, not concurrent, so it really could be two to three books instead of one. It could make the storyline a bit hard to follow at times, but not terribly so. Lots of different characters and plenty of intrigue. This was my first story by BJ Bourg and I was pleased. There was much suspense, action, and much of the small-town mishaps that can happen among a small police force. A bit of a love story on top of all the action and adventure. I loved how the loss of his wife and daughter kept Clint going. The scene where he's visiting their graves brought tears to my eyes. Non-stop action! Love BJ Bourg books! The story flows, and I enjoy reading books where the setting is Louisiana, and non-stop action. This author knows police procedurals, especially from his personal background in law enforcement. The characters and the quaint Bayou towns make it even better! A great “mystery suspense who done it.” I read this one into the wee hours of the morning because you just can’t put it down. Ive enjoyed books 1-3, and will definitely read this entire Series! Intense and Suspenseful But Not Forsaken is an intense hunt. But who is hunting who? Just as one murder is solved another crime takes place, then injustice as Susan is arrested as Abigail's and Michelle's murderers are released. Murders start piling up in small-town Louisiana. For Clint, caring about his new friends and trusting them seem to be his downfall. The ending took me by surprise. Totally unexpected! Intense and Suspenseful But Not Forsaken is an intense hunt. Exciting mystery until the end I love reading about Louisiana and the Clint Wolf mysteries are very exciting. This one basically involved the whole town, not just the police department and Clint. The crimes involved go back decades as well as recently. The investigation runs the length of the book and you'll be shocked at the outcome!
