The Healer series deserves much more recognition than it is given. It’s such an amazing series, pulling you into a beautifully crafted story. The first book is a lot of fun, although it is far from the strongest in the series. It pulls you in, gives you a taste of the world, and yet you’re left wanting a little bit more. You know great things are to come, and yet you feel as though you simply glimpsed them. The second book quickly throws all this greatness at you. Without a doubt, the second book is my favourite book in the series thus far. It brings to life an entirely new world, adding so many different aspects to the main storyline. The third book follows on from the wow factor of the second book. It had an extremely high standard to live up to, and pretty much lived up to it. The third book is wonderful, although not quite as amazing as the second. Still, it was a much better book than the first. Moreover, it leaves you more than ready for the concluding fourth book. What I’m trying to say is that the story gets better. It pulls you in and really comes to life once you start the second book. There are so many layers to this story, so many things that pull you in and leave you wanting more. There are some predictable aspects – the things that seem to exist within all young adult fantasy novels – but for the most part it is entirely unique. It’s a wonderful read, and I certainly recommend picking it up.

I had a hard time putting this book down once I started to read it. It has gods, prophecies, evil and good, some adventures and romance. The pacing is good and the storyline engaging. Hope has the ability to heal others which she has kept hidden because her father is worried she would be in danger if her special gift was discovered. Then 2 new boys show up at her high school. Hope feels a pull to Tie but is fighting it. She feels a strong friendship to Victor. Then strange things start to happen I had a hard time putting this book down once I started to read it. Then strange things start to happen to Hope and her friend Angie and they discover that things aren't what they thought they were. Why does Hooe have healing gift and his does Tie and Victor know her? In the second book Hope is now in a dream state remembering what happened in her formal life. In this book, the reader is taken to ancient Japan to a magical Kingdom. The reader learns about the healer and how she wants to be loved for herself and not just for who she is to become. Mikomi secretly uses her healing power to help others. She heals the commander of the rebels and makes a new friend. She also starts to help the rebels fight against her father's evil. In this book, she is introduced to 2 gods. Katsu who is who she is prophesied to marry and Musubi who she starts to love. Will she be able to marry who she wishes or will she be controlled by a prophecy? The third book continues with Hope is a dream state remember her previous life. Hope is falling in love with Musubi more each day. Katsu loves Mikomi but he is so focused on healing the veil that he fails to see that he only sees her as the healer and not as Mikomi. The battle continues between the empire and the rebels. By the end of this book Hopes memory is back and she now understands what is going on. I can't wait until the next book comes out to find out how the veil will be healed and what the prophecy really

One lopsided prophecy and four main pawns. Reincarnated Hope, lives a sheltered, overprotected life- but she has choices. She can use her gifts at healing as a source of freedom and happiness that propels her forward to a brighter future. Or so she thinks. Reincarnated Hope, lives a sheltered, overprotected life- but she has choices. She can use her gifts at healing as a source of freedom and happiness that propels her forward to a brighter future. Or so she thinks. Hope, for both her fathers sake and her own has to keep a host of secrets to herself, even from her best friend in order to survive the modern world. Angie is Hopes best friend, a little past normal herself, who has stood by her side since early childhood. She has secrets as well and a past of her own that she has yet to realize. Tie has had centuries to contemplate his mistakes, live with the demons he has created and mourn the loss of his two past loves. Victor too has had centuries to ponder and guilt himself into misery due to a mistake he made toward Tie years previous. The hurt and betrayal between the two (Tie and Victor) has destroyed their friendship and caused destruction in their wake. When Hope meets death and Tie rescues her, he wills her to remember her past incarnation and relive the memories in order to remind her of her duty to the world. When she wakes will she be pleased to see the two who caused such destruction years before? Will she choose to fulfill her destiny this time around or will she fail and be reincarnated once again? Is their hope for the love between them to blossom or will she refuse to give up her freedom altogether? Book 1: Present day reincarnation Hope Book 2: Past reincarnation Hope until Epilogue Book 3: Continuation of Past reincarnation Hope until Epilogue Together all three work well filling in the missing pieces and priming the readers for book 4. Recommended for Paranormal Romance Lovers young and young at heart. No sexual content other than kissing and light caressing. Received a free digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Next Insert strong emotion here! I am looking forward to the next installment and can't believe we are left hanging lime we are. Hope is again in imminent danger and how she is going to get out is a mystery. There are so many strings left loose that I am desperately wanting to know what happens and how it ends. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Throughout the series, Hope who is aptly named is portrayed as a strong-willed, selfless, caring, loving, and brave young woman will capture anyone’s heart. Hope is on a journey of self-discovery and truth in order to find out the very essence of her being. As the story travels between present and past, it’s filled with suspense, kami, nekomata, war, confusion, epiphanies and destiny. The original prophecy is the only key that will unlock Hope, Tie and Katsu’s purpose in healing the veil. Every sentence and piece of knowledge is vital to understanding who each major character is in The Healer series. This is my first experience with Japanese mythology and I must say it was wonderful learning beyond Roman and Greek teachings. Through Hope, the author reminds us that love can heal even the coldest of hearts, snuff out hate and any blackness with a vise grip within the center of our beings. Sacrifice is love, therefore love cannot prevail and heal the veil when there is no sacrifice to offer.

Nice series for young adults. Thus is a wonderful mix of war, fighting, injuries, healing and domination in feudal Japan although it is set in a parallel dimension called Kagami. Ms Anaya captures the frustration of women during this time period, having no voice and being treated as chattel. Sometimes verbose, the story repeats itself several times and becomes tedious in some places. Since this is written for young adults, perhaps the author believes the readers won't understand the situation wi Nice series for young adults. Since this is written for young adults, perhaps the author believes the readers won't understand the situation without extensive and detailed explanation each time the situation occurs. These minor flaws, in my opinion, don't hurt the story too much, it is still a fascinating look into Japan's rich history from a female's point of view. If you don't admire outspoken and strong opinionated women then don't pick up this series. I personally believe that everyone, male and female, can learn from this series. Have fun. I know you will enjoy.

What a fantastic story! I am impressed with this series. Although it is a YA series, there is plenty of action and angst. This series has you traveling through time and space with the wild story line. Hope is almost 18 and a High School student with a twist. She can heal people instantly with a thought and laying her hands on them. Two new boys starting school with her have her confused. Never having a boyfriend or even have a boy interested in her, these two are almost overpowering. Tie and Vict What a fantastic story! I am impressed with this series. She is to heal the veil between our world and the underworld. They tell her she is reborn from a Japanese Princess, that lived 1000 years ago. That's just the first book! The next stories explore her past life and it is not only interesting, it is full of action and mysteries. Highly recommend.

This is the first book I read which involved dieties that too Japanese deities, so its plot was a completely different one from the normal ones I have read before. Like parallel universes, this plot moves through two births of the lead which are co-existent at the same time. Since am a great believer of soulmates, I loved especially the mate concept greatly. Pure love intertwined with fate and misery combining the release of physical abilities of previous birth were astounding. Good read I love these books and they are a great read. If you love gods and goddesses this is the series for you. The first three books reel you in and keep you on the hook. I cant wait to read the 4th book in this series. I gave it 4 stars because the second book I found was hard to get into and keep going on. Its the whole back story that makes the rest of the books make sense

A ride through mediaeval Japan The book series is a heady mix of Japanese gods, palace intrigue, mythology and warfare. It is amazing how the author came up with this heady cocktail. It reads lightly and does not bore you into skipping paragraphs. Keeps you engrossed. Looking forward to the next edition.

Really good, boring, and ok. That's my summary of the 3 books. The first one was really good. A real page Turner. The second book, to me was borring and even not needed.
