Every time I write a review I wonder if I’m supposed to be nice and lie or tell it like it is. I know how hard a writer works and how much they put into a book so I always feel bad saying not so nice things. A story can change your life, shock the daylights out of you, or entertain you. If you’re lucky you’ll get all three. This book did neither for me. It was dreadful on so many levels. If you’re lucky you’ll get all three. This book did neither for me. It was dreadful on so many levels. You have the heartbroken Tess who lost her husband a year ago and decides to go to Bora Bora to scatter her husband’s ashes. She’s a mother of three and in her 40s. All is well until she meets the famous Tom Clemmins who is an A-list actor and (shock) a womanizer. They go on a private excursion and before you know it the nice little lady turns into a floozie right before your eyes. Don’t get me wrong I understand the whole thing that she’s waited a year to be with someone but the way the whole thing unravels within the “week full of romance and desire” was just too much. The dialogue between the two is silly at times and the book just drags. The entire story could’ve been told in less than 200 pages. Sometimes less is better. Three stars and I feel I’m being generous.

She is finally ready to let go and to try to move forward with her life a year after he husband's unexpected death. Tom, who is just slightly older has never had time for a vacation, taking movie role after movie role, he's finally ready for some much needed R&R. When he arrives in Bora Bora the last thing he expected was the woman who caught his eye in the lobby. A well planned 'mix up' ensures that the two of them are both on the tour the following day to swim with the sharks. He's looking for a little adventure and to get to know the stranger better, while she just wanted a moment of privacy to say farewell to her husband. But a few moments alone together ignites feelings in Tess that she never thought she would feel again. As for Tom, he's never imagined settling down - he's that older actor that always has a young starlet on his arm. But there is something about Tess that has him ready to get go of his commitment issues once and for all. This was a very sweet romance that was a pleasant shift from the normal twenty-something insecure characters. There wasn't too much drama or angst, as that sort of fades with age, and although a bit predictable; I found that I really enjoyed this change of pace. The writing was well done along with the character development. Tess was a compelling character that had to balance out her guilt over moving on and her feelings towards Tom, that in their own way were so much more than what she had with her husband. Both men experienced a different part of Tess, both missing out on the those parts equally. If you are looking for a sweet romance that has a little bit of steam that involves a bit more mature cast of characters, this is a good one to pick up.

My first book from this author, and definitely not the last one! 4,25 stars This book was so beautiful! Tess is a wonderful person. She is finally ready to say goodbye to her late husband after greeving for a year after his sudden death. She is a wonderful and loving mother of three young adults and she is a woman. This book dealt with a lot of emotions so beautifully. You saw grief for what you lost and the memories of the past. Hope for what you found and the memories to be created in the future. Fear of diving in again, excitment for having something beautiful to live a second time. And all that added to all the changes that come for having a relationship and being in the eye of Hollywood. She was a strong heroine learning that it was ok to love again. He was an amazing, sweet and loving man wanting to learn how to be a partner in love for the first time. And together, they sparkled so much. I also loved that they were both over 40 yo, (even pushing 50 in his case). The narration was a little rushed sometimes. Not the plot, because that was really cool and it built gradually and gave the development I needed to believe in them. But it was like we never stuck in a moment or a feeling to ruminate it. But it was a wonderful journey. And the secondary characters were amazing. They brought color to the plot, but never stole Tess and Tom's thunder. It was a wonderful way to be reminded that everything happens for a reason and that life is too short to not enjoy the beuty if has to give. So the key is to embrace the goodness and surprises...No more wasted time.

No more wasted time was a book about finding love twice in a lifetime. Tess was fortunate enough to fall in love and stay in love for 25 years with her husband. But a sudden heart attack took all that away from her. Yet she is blessed enough to find it again with someone very unexpected. One of Hollywood's sexiest movie stars. I tend to read a lot of YA but there are times that I need a good adult romance book. And I couldn't have picked a better book. Preston wrote her characters believable. Tess and Tom had tension and they had chemistry. I enjoyed reading the development of their relationship. Tess' children were also in this novel, which made it more believable. Bora Bora definitely played a part in their sexy relationship. I really enjoyed this novel. No more wasted time, is a perfect sexy naughty read. No more wasted time gets a 5 stars from me and a definite Good Choice for Reading.

This book is steamy and never lets you up for air! We all deserve a second chance at love and Tess takes her opportunity and runs with it. Anxious to see what Preston may have in store for us in other romantic encounters!

This is a really sweet read. A mature romance, with characters in their 40s, both getting a chance at love that neither of them expected. I picked up this book because I absolutely fell in love with The Italian, which is a spin off from this series, and I was interested to see where it all began. Tess is a 44-year-old widowed mother of three almost-grown children. After grieving her late husband’s sudden death for over a year, she decides it’s time to move on with her life and she travels to Bora Bora to scatter his ashes and move forward. Also staying at her resort is Hollywood superstar and serial single man Tom Clemmins. He is taking a much-needed holiday after working non-stop for years, and from the moment these two lay eyes on each other, everything changes for both of them. Neither Tess nor Tom are looking for love, but they share a connection that neither of them expected, and it starts them on a whirlwind love affair which takes them from their beautiful tropical paradise to Italy, the Greek Islands, the bright lights of LA and a secluded Colorado cabin (and back again). I love the different dynamic that comes with characters being a bit older than the usual romance book. These are two people who know who they are, and are comfortable with where they are at in their lives - they know a good thing when they see it, and they dive on in. There’s no angst, very little drama (except for one eye-rolling, slap-worthy incident), and their relationship is strong, functional, committed and incredibly passionate (though not overly explicit). There are some heartfelt moments as Tess battles with her grief, and her guilt over her new feelings for Tom, but it’s addressed well, and proves how perfect Tom is as he supports her through it all. It’s an easy read, which is comfortably predictable, and I enjoyed it. I admit though, that I started to get a bit bored towards the end. I think the book went on a bit too long, giving us too many details which was just more of the same – more happy times, more loved-up moments, more of Tom being absolutely freaking perfect. Lovely to see, but it didn’t really add that much to the story and the book started to drag. I liked the way that Tess’ children were included in the story, and I will definitely be checking out their stories in the rest of this series. I really liked it - 3 stars.

This is a steamy hot story that is sexy and fun! A friend recommended this book to me, and I am so glad that I picked up No More Wasted Time to read! As a Las Vegas local it is always fun to see stories that take place here! I also LOVE that the characters in this story are closer to my own age. Quite honestly, the visual image I get of him is almost like George Clooney. (sigh!) The characters have depth and are likeable - you really care about what is going on. You feel like they are people that you know, almost like your own family. The story itself is about the confirmed bachelor, Tom, who finally meets his match and soul mate in Tess when they both end up at Bora Bora for vacation at the same time. Tess, a widow of a year, is still emotionally on the mend, and at the island getaway to spread her husband's ashes. Tom seems like the typical Hollywood playboy on the surface, but he is so much more, as Tess soon finds out. The two of them have a bit of a rocky road, but the love and intimacy they find together will see them through whatever storm life may throw at them. I am always happy for the endings where the hero and heroine really do get their "happily ever after." These two certainly deserve it. One of the best things about this novel, for me at least, was the exotic settings. Talk about a trip around the world! They travel to the gorgeous beaches of Bora Bora, the romantic streets of Italy, and to the amazing countryside in Greece. Beverly Preston is truly a gifted writer, and the locales are really brought to life in vivid descriptions. I am SO putting Bora Bora on my list of places for my husband and me to visit! They have stops along the way in California, Colorado, and of course, my very own backyard, Las Vegas. She does justice to them all. Really, this is a great read - full of love, sorrow and laughter, but mostly full of hope. Truly, the title No More Time Wasted is so appropriate, and a motto I think we should all heed. Thank you author J.J. Ellis for the recommendation!

In the case of this book, there is very little conflict – and what there is is quickly dispensed with – and the characters, while interesting and entertaining, are not all that dynamic or magnetic. Yet … I did enjoy the book, even if it occasionally bored me. Tess and Tom make for a different kind of couple, if for no other reason than they’re both middle aged. She’s a forty-four-year-old mother of three grown children (she got married at nineteen), and he’s a forty-nine-year-old hot movie star. These two are at a point in their lives that is not exactly synonymous with “hot sex.” But, boy, do they have some hot sex, international style. They visit Bora Bora, Italy, Greece, California, Colorado, and Las Vegas. They rock the headboard with gusto. Not that the love making is explicit; it really isn’t, at least not on an erotica scale, although these two certainly are prolific. Beverly Preston creates interesting, if not intriguing or compelling, characters in Tess and Tom. We root for them to be together, because they become the people they want to be as they become a couple. It’s nice, and it’s hopeful and that, in essence, is this book. It’s nice. It has some hot love scenes, and two likable characters, so even if it doesn’t have any conflict, it’s still a pleasant read.

Do I feel like Sunday? This was my first Beverly Preston read and I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully written. I felt like I was on vacation in Bora Bora and could see and feel what Tom & Tess experienced there. It was a very sweet story of second chance love, letting go, and being able to accept that "life is about today". I look forward to reading more of this series. Do I feel like Sunday? Tom and Tess love them. Their story had me in tears and laughing. I loved every single word. It was nice to read about an older couple and not a young girl that was still a virgin and a bad boy falling in love with her. Tess's story felt like you were reading about a real person and family. For me the best part of this book was not only the growing romance but the descriptions of the many places and sights that they saw in the traveling they did. Preston actually describes this so well I actually felt as if I was there. Their were some steamy sex scenes that were not only realistic but had many details. They weren't overly done but made me see how close and how much Tom and Tess began to feel about one another. Overall I liked this book but I would have preferred if it was done in dual povs. I think I would have related and understood Tom and Tess a little a better. Would I read the other books in the Mathews series? Yes, I would love to know who their kids end up with and how.

about to read but I'm a tad hesitant because some of the reviews say the book isn't that great so we shall see ... SERIOUSLY? Seriously?!?! The heroine is majorly immature and not just a I'm teen or early 20's immature but unbelievably 44 years old immature. At first I thought maybe she's just acting dramatic because she's going through a rough time (I've been there). But thats not the case. Also, the writer decided that while trying to make us believe in the whole 'i lost the love of my life I'm about to read but I'm a tad hesitant because some of the reviews say the book isn't that great so we shall see ... SERIOUSLY? Seriously?!?! The heroine is majorly immature and not just a I'm teen or early 20's immature but unbelievably 44 years old immature. At first I thought maybe she's just acting dramatic because she's going through a rough time (I've been there). But thats not the case. Also, the writer decided that while trying to make us believe in the whole 'i lost the love of my life I'm a grieving widow' thing she was also hardcore lusting after this man, not like oh he's very attractive but the day she's spreading her dead husbands ashes she's contemplating the ways he must work out to keep his hot bod. (did i just say hot bod? yea, i did) Needless to say this book was not great-or atlas it wasn't great for me. Awesome heroines are not easy to find but if you're going to write a maturely aged women you have to write a mature personality to go with it. p.s. Maybe I'm nit-picking now but the woman on the cover looks about 24 not 44. Sorry not sorry?

This is a fantastic story about love, family and moving on with your life after loss. Tess loses her husband to a sudden heart attack and a year later decides that the perfect resting spot for his ashes is in Bora Bora where they vacationed together many times over their 25 year marriage. A famous actor, Tom Clemmins, is checking in the same time that she is booking her private cruise to lay her husband to rest. When she shows up that day, Tom is there and has booked the boat as well. While she is initially livid (as she has every right to be), they start to fall into a friendship which grows from there. What happens after that is a fantasy come true while they are in Bora Bora. Neither of them want it to end and they attempt to continue the relationship in the real world with him being an actor and her a mother with 3 kids. I felt a connection between Tess and Tom and loved her kids as well. The progression of the story feels real and you will take the journey right along with them.

Boring. Very easy read though. I think due to the simplistic writing. I was ready to turn the main character's expression of "holy crap" every few sentences into a drinking game. But, then, low and behold, it turns out to be one of the cute, little things her boyfriend loves about her. Holy crap I wanted to really drink then. I found myself shaking my head alot. I see hotter things written on bathroom stalls. With about the same number of typos.

If you are a true "Romantic", you will absolutely enjoy this book! Beverly Preston gives us a beautiful story, set in exotic Bora Bora, about two people in their 40's, who unexpectedly find love and unbridled passion. I loved this book. Most romances annoy me, because they are so formulaic and unrealistic. I'm all for escapism, but I need enough reality to balance the fairy tale. This book, I loved. Tess has been widowed for a year, and takes her husband's ashes to their favorite vacation spot to say goodbye. While there, she meets A-list movie star Tom when he buys his way onto her private boating trip. I am glad the author showed us Tess's feelings of betraying her deceased husband. i purchased this as a free title, but having read it would have paid quite happily..., i read it as a grown up fairy tale, the handsome prince (movie star Tom), meets the humble Tess, the best part for me was that they were an older couple, it worked really well, the story sweeps you along with all the romance, beautiful scenery and engaging characters, if your an old romantic at heart, this is definately for you..., by the way where is Bora Bora, sounds heavenley!

Oh my....What a waste of my time! I thought this had potential and still do (with the right editor)but in actuality it was appalling. It just rambled on and never got good. I couldn't get pass the main point that I had to assume that someone could get over their beloved husband of 25 years in a year...highly unlikely. 'Pedals' written throughout bar once instead of 'petals' (oh yes this was a trivial point but showed lack of care). I'm glad I didn't pay money for this.

Romance about a couple of 40-somethings. It wasn't anything special, the writing or the story. It kept me reading, much like you have to keep eating sweets until they're all gone, even when you start to feel a bit queasy! I didn't fall for the male character at all, he was very bland and boring to be honest. It's definitely a beach read, a little filler between novels, that you'll forget as soon as you've read it.
