The President of the United States recently said he was pulling the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement, to join the countries of Syria and Nicaragua, of the 197 parties to the United Nations Framework Convention, in not signing this agreement. But wait, Nicaragua didn't sign because their representatives have said the Paris Agreement is "not sufficient" and believe rich nations should do more to reduce their emissions. They thought the agreement should be stricter, tougher. So the USA basically joined Syria in snubbing this agreement. I wonder how many people outside of political inner circles have actually read the agreement. The United Nations has the agreement posted on their website in mulitple languages. Here is the link the the English version: http://unfccc.int/files/essential_bac... It is an easy read, only 27 pages long in total, with lots of white space. If more people actually read this document, then we might be able to have a more logical and factual conversation about whether or not pulling out of this agreement is a good thing, instead of just the current partisan political conversation. I wonder if the President of the United States actually read the whole thing?
