I really liked this cookbook! I am one of those people that has an Instant Pot but doesn't know how to take full advantage of it. This cookbook would be a great gift or purchase for anyone in the same boat! Yummy recipes that weren't intimidating, step-by step instructions and a good amount of variety. My family really enjoyed the mac and cheese and I'm looking forward to trying that carrot cake! The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook is a must-have for anyone who owns an Instant Pot. This book breaks down how to use the Instant Pot and what to cook in it better than the manual. The recipes are delicious and simple to follow. I was hesitant to try an Instant Pot because I remember my Mom watching the pressure gauge and hovering over her stove-top pressure cooker. I don't have that kind of time and wasn't interested in that. With my Instant Pot I can set it and walk away. Some nights I literally go out and walk the dogs while our dinner is cooking. It's amazing! "This cookbook includes seven chapters of recipes that range from globally inspired dishes to retro American classics with modern updates." How to Use the Instant Pot This section clearly explains the function keys in easy to understand terms. I'm going to enjoy having this section to reference when I'm not sure which setting I should use for a recipe.  The Pressure Cooker Pantry Coco lists a few ingredients that are good to have on hand for cooking with the Instant Pot. The list isn't long, but having these staple items would allow you to create a meal quickly and easily. Must Have Tools This is a list of some of the things you can purchase from Instant Pot and some other things to have on hand. It's nice to know she suggests a 7-inch round cake or spring-form pan for the 6 quart cooker. She gives suggestions for things I didn't know about, but I'm sure would make my Instant Pot even more versatile. I had wondered if I could use any pan in my Instant Pot and now I know I can! How to Convert Recipes for the Instant Pot This may be the most useful portion of the book! I'm always looking for ways to use a favorite recipe in my Instant Pot. Coco gives simple instructions on how to know if a recipe will work and what to look for to choose the correct cooking function. This is super helpful information. Troubleshooting and FAQ This is two pages of helpful questions and answers to common questions. I know I had to search out some of these answers! It is nice to have them all in one spot. Breakfast 8 recipes ranging from savory to sweet. I'm looking forward to trying the Lemon-Poppy Seed Breakfast Cake. Beans and Grains 11 recipes with basic instructions on how to cook beans, hummus and complete entrees.  Soups and Chilis 10 recipes that will make easy, fast meals. I use my Instant Pot most often for soups. She has delicious recipes to choose from. Poultry 9 recipes I can't wait to try! I love that she gives suggestions on freezing some of her recipes for a fast meal later. I'm excited for the Arroz Con Pollo. Beef and Pork 16 recipes that are obvious choices for using the Instant Pot. I haven't tried meat loaf yet. It's so much quicker in the Instant Pot than the oven.  Vegetables and Side Dishes 15 recipes from squash and potatoes to mac and cheese. There is a little bit of everything in this chapter.  Desserts 9 recipes for my favorite portion of the meal. I'm intrigued with the cake recipes. I can imagine the Instant Pot deliver moist, yummy cakes! Pantry 10 recipes for sauces, broths, yogurt, and caramelized onions. Lots of options to choose from to complete a meal.  Cook Charts An extensive list of foods with fresh and frozen cooking times listed. I love that it will be easy to pick up this book to find how long I should cook meals. It's nice to have a reliable source to find quick answers when I'm throwing together a meal. This book has beautiful photos and great recipes. I highly recommend anyone with an Instant Pot should have this book. This would also be a fantastic gift!

I bought my Instant Pot cooker about a year ago, and it quickly became a featured star among my kitchen appliances. I donated my rice cooker, and my crockpot to other family members, although I retained my pressure cooker, not sure if the Instant Pot would completely take over its functions. I probably use my Instant Pot an average of twice a week, and I was looking forward to expanding my use after a thorough reading of Coco Morante’s new “Essential Instant Pot”. Morante does a fabulous job of explaining how the Instant Pot works, and takes the users through the many buttons, timing features, and answers a long list of “Frequently Asked Questions”. I wish I had had this book when I first bought my Instant Pot, and highly recommend it as a buy-along if you purchase one. This cookbook is very usable in two important ways. First, the recipes are good. I loved her Momo Meatballs with Cilantro Chutney, and Turkey Chile Verde with Pinto Beans. Second, because Morante includes recipes for a variety of “classics”, you can use your own recipes if you have them, and use the recipes to adapt them for the Instant Pot, with temperatures and timing experimentation eliminated.

Great book! I have an Instant Pot and I also like to cook. The idea of having a healthy delicious dinner ready in under an hour is always appealing for this busy business owner, wife, mother and tennis player. Add avid reader and part-time crocheter? The hubs got me a wonderful gift this past Mothers Day; an Electric Pressure Cooker.  Needless to say, I was very hesitant to try this or any other type of pressure cooker. When I was a kid, my mom used one that wiggled and jiggled all over the stove, and was so loud that you couldnt hear the TV over it. And, you were horrified to walk through the kitchen for fear it would explode all over you and the kitchen and youd be burned alive.  I am here to tell you, if that is the case, youll  be amazed The hubs got me a wonderful gift this past Mother’s Day; an Electric Pressure Cooker.  Needless to say, I was very hesitant to try this or any other type of pressure cooker. And, you were horrified to walk through the kitchen for fear it would explode all over you and the kitchen and you’d be burned alive.  I am here to tell you, if that is the case, you’ll  be amazed at how far pressure cooking has come. When I first saw The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook, I had only used my new pressure cooker for the things like my mother used her old stainless steel, stove-top pressure cooker for.  You know, pinto beans and pot roasts only. I am here to tell you today that The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook is a must-have for anyone who owns an Instant Pot.  This books shares how to use the Instant Pot, what to cook in it, and oh my, the recipes are delicious and easy to follow.  The book is filled with beautiful photos, an introduction to the Instant Pot, a section on how to convert traditional recipes, suggestions for useful tools that compliment the Instant Pot, and a troubleshooting and FAQ section. With an Instant Pot, you don’t have to hover over your pressure cooker and watch the gauge like my Mom did.  And, thank goodness!  I don’t have that kind of time or the energy after a long day at work.  With the Instant Pot, I can set it and walk away.  I can help the kids with their homework, pick up a little house, or just relax while dinner is cooking.  It’s amazing! This book includes seven chapters of recipes that include breakfast, beans and grains, soups and chilis, poultry, beef and pork, vegetables and side dishes, and desserts.  There is also a section for suggested pantry items and a cook chart. I am proud to say that I have now tried recipes such as Brown Butter Steel-Cut Oatmeal, Borracho Beans, Rice, Barley with Mushrooms and Sage, and New York Cheesecake.  Yes!  Cheesecake!!  Next to try on my list is Unstuffed Peppers and Lemon-Honey Poached Pears with Whipped Greek Yogurt.  These recipes are delicious and simple to follow.  The ingredients are mostly common ingredients that are in a well stocked pantry, and the ones that I don’t have readily on hand can be found in most grocery stores. I highly recommend anyone with an Instant Pot should have this book.  If you are like me and already have the Holidays on your mind, I am thinking this would also be a fantastic gift!

I enjoyed reading this cookbook. The recipe breakdowns are simple with clear step by step instructions. My biggest complaint about this book is the lack of pictures for each recipe. Since this has such a variety of recipes, some of which I have never seen or heard of, having additional visual representation would have helped. My instant pot is on the fritz at the moment with a replacement on its way, but I look forward to trying out some of these recipes once it is back in working order!

Want impressed I bought this Kindle version cookbook when it was on sale for $3.99, thinking I might by the book version if I like many recipes. This was not the case. The type of recipes in this cookbook are not ones I usually make. I probably will only make a few recipes. Now I wish I never bought the Instant Pot.

This book seems like a great introduction to the Instant Pot, which I have owned for a while but never used. There are maybe 4 dozen recipes here Id be willing to try. This is a very easy to follow cookbook that provides an excellent introduction to the Instant Pot (and, by extension other electric pressure cookers) along with a wide variety of recipes. There is a nice section on helpful tools and tips for troubleshooting. Each recipe is well written with explicit step-by-step instructions. I made the Plum Chili Chicken and the Unstuffed Peppers. I can't remember a recent kitchen appliance trend more popular than the Instant Pot. I was pleasantly surprised to find the recipe for a honey-turmeric tonic the day I first picked up the book. My head cold had been killing meand this find was enough to keep me going. In addition to breakfast, there are sections on beans & gravy, soups & chilis, poultry, beef & pork, veggies & sides, dessert, and pantry. It is this last section that changed my mind from a 4 to a 5 star review. Having a soffrito, quick mayonnaise, or apple sauce ready at hand is a great way to take a semi-homemade meal to a fully homemade one. In terms of quality of publication, the thick hard cover and heavy matte pages are perfect for a book in a well-used kitchen. While you could likely find many of the recipes or similar online. The utility of this one stop shop would be perfect as a holiday gift for the budding Instant Pot cook.

I much preferred the first book on Instant Pot I read a few days ago as it was "forget the programs, here's how to cook with the Instant Pot and some recipes by-the-by." This is an official Instant Pot (the company)-approved book so it is all "use these buttons and here's a bunch of recipes." I am tired of lists of recipes. I love the introduction at the beginning and the list of useful items to get. Definitely handy. I've made recipes from the book and they turned out good, though true to my own nature, I cannot follow a recipe exactly and will add vegetables or other items I either need to use or that I think will taste good if added, usually both. Quintessential Instant Pot cookbook I love, love, love my Instant Pot and this is the most informative cookbook of them all.Need to learn to use your pot, no problem Complete instructions for operating your device are included. Mmmmmmm- may have to buy this one- its due back at my library soon. I have only used my Instant Pot sporadically and have to learn instructions on how each time. I have been pleased with the results so far, but need to expand my horizons. There are loads of recipes to try in this book, with specific instructions for each one. With the weather starting to cool down, its time for some experimentation in the kitchen. Mmmmmmm- may have to buy this one- it’s due back at my library soon. This is a fantastic step-by-step book on using an Instant Pot.  It also teaches you how to convert recipes to fit your Instant Pot, which is my favorite part. It answers many questions on troubleshooting, PIP cooking and other issues. The variety of recipes are fabulous and the pictures are very enticing.  If you already have one or if you're thinking of buying one this is a great book to learn from.

I have never used a pressure cooker before so it has been very helpful in getting me started. I have only made a few things so far. I will update as I make more. The Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting came out very good. - https://heidishaunt.blogspot.com/2019...

Of all the Instant Pot cookbooks Ive reviewed, I found this one to be the most accessible. It had several time-saving recipes that didnt require a pantry full of ingredients. This book also contained basic info about the IP, as well as helpful charts for most everything. If youre only going to buy one IP cookbook, this is the one I would recommend. Great reference, reasonable price! Better than a couple of the other books I've gotten! Definite buy recommendation, and I'm a hard grader. Great recipes and reference for Instant Pot, electric pressure cookers.

I have an Instant Pot. I've used it for several years, but I've never used any setting other than manual. I enjoyed this cookbook primarily because it taught me how to use the various settings. I'm also vegan and there are some vegan recipes. I received a free ARC from NetGalley.

So simple! The only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars is the lack of nutrition information. Everything seems relatively healthy, but I would love some ballpark numbers. Otherwise, this cookbook is a great launching point for learning how to Instant Pot!
