Mild-mannered nerd, Dennis Long, is on a mission. He has been sent to Atlanta to woo doctoral student, Angelica Jones, to join the team at Paradise Space Flight in Haskell, Wyoming. But where most people see Angelica as a brilliant scientist with a promising career ahead of her, all Dennis sees is the neighborhood girl who teased him as a kid. He may be the only person in Mild-mannered nerd, Dennis Long, is on a mission. He may be the only person in the world who doesn't want her. Or so he thinks... Angelica has loved all of the attention lavished on her by the aerospace industry, and is proud to represent African-American women in the sciences. But the one thing she isn't proud of is the way she tormented Dennis as a kid. Now the nerdy boy she once knew is all grown up and then some! And Angelica finds herself caught between the need to make amends for the past and the desire to go after the future she has been working her whole life for. But is love a part of that future? Forgiveness might just be the hottest commodity in Atlanta. PLEASE BE ADVISED: Steam Level - Hot

4.25 stars. I loved this story because the protagonists were childhood friends who through out their youth both motivated and challenged each other intellectually; but who fought their romantic attractions. They did science projects together, provided each other with first kisses and had secret make out sessions in the school's science lab; but in public and around their peers, Angelica Jones bulled Dennis making fun of him and being dismissive of his presence. In the area of science, Dennis Lon 4.25 stars. They did science projects together, provided each other with first kisses and had secret make out sessions in the school's science lab; but in public and around their peers, Angelica Jones bulled Dennis making fun of him and being dismissive of his presence. In the area of science, Dennis Long was a child prodigy and went to college in his teens and had become and astrophysicist by earning a PhD in his early twenties. Present day, Dennis works in Haskell, Wyoming, as an astrophysicist at the Paradise Space Flight and has been sent to Angelica Jones' PhD graduation to recruit her to work their company. Dennis is torn between wanting revenge and loving her. Angelica regrets having bullied Dennis, realizes she in love with him but fears her past treatment of him will be a barrier to his loving her. The author skillfully and interesting maneuvers this couple to a romantically loving committed place where they plan a life together in Haskell.

I loved the neighborhood characters and the friends which gave a homey feeling and made it easy to love Dennis coming to his childhood home. Angelica had several issues that were dealt with. The ending was heartwarming. Book was gifted to me.

Linda Christiani I always enjoy this author's interracial romance stories because she makes the love more important than race or outside interference this was different because it was the girl who needed forgiveness and that's where true love came in I really recommend! Well written! I loved this book. My only complaint was it is too short. The story was believable and original. Can't wait to read more of Merry's stuff! Well written! I loved this book.
