    A gentle and verbose introduction for someone who has never done email marketing before. If you have worked in the field for a couple months or done an internship, there isn't going to be much new for you here. The approach is very qualitative and ignores many of the practical problems with running a campaign. For example, it pounds repeatedly on the fact that measuring downstream conversion is more important than opens or clicks, but does not acknowledge that rarer events farther down the conver A gentle and verbose introduction for someone who has never done email marketing before. If you are already at the point of running A/B tests on your emails, this book is not for you.

    Disclaimer: I received this book for posting an honest review. I have been working in email marketing for over 6 years now and there is always more for me to learn. This book is a great primer for all of the little nuances and gives a great background of all that goes into email marketing. I was hoping to see some more information on some higher level tactics but this was a great refresher for me on the basics.

Great content for people building a larger scale business, and management who need to get a handle on what their marketing folks should be doing.
