I have loved these brothers of the Haven Brotherhood from the beginning and have been so excited about reading Knox’s story. I knew it would have to be a very special woman to claim his heart and Darya definitely was that. Darya Volkova, aka JJ Simpson fled Russia for the United States to escape the clutches of an evil man that wanted her for his own very demented reasons. She is living under the assumed name of JJ Simpson and does skip tracing work to pay the bills. But she wants a more secure way to provide for herself for her future. She became aware of the men who call each other “brothers,” especially Knox Torren. He has mad computer skills and she wants him to mentor her. He could teach her so much, not to mention that he is very easy on the eyes. But when she finally convinces him to meet with her, it only takes one look to feel the strong chemistry between them. She needs this gig. She needs to ignore what she’s feeling. The question is, can she? Knox has been alone his whole life so when he met his now brothers, it was the first family he has ever had. Knox’s mind never stops, computer codes constantly running through his head. He doesn’t sleep, except after sex. He doesn’t do relationships, just hook-ups to give himself the much needed shut eye. Then JJ Simpson walked into his office. That Russian accent and a face that could fill his fantasies for a lifetime was all it took to take his mind places it had no business going. But he agreed to mentor her, that’s all. Or so he thought. When Darya meets Knox’s family it’s like she was part of them all along. She fit right in, they all loved her and she loved them. It didn’t take much longer for Knox and Darya to give in to the crazy sexual chemistry zinging between them. Everyone else in his family knew just by watching him that she was going to be his woman. Of course, Knox didn’t admit it but when the threat against her became real, and also involved his family, all bets were off, and he knew that Darya was everything to him, that he would do anything to protect her. That she was his future. As did the previous three brothers, when Knox falls, he falls hard. This rough talking, sexy alpha had such a sweet side. I loved the way Darya knocked down his walls. These two together were most definitely steamy as heck. Darya was perfect. She had a huge heart but she was also tough. She knew who she was, what she needed, and when she loved, she loved with her whole heart. I loved the introduction of the Russians in this book. I don’t know if we’ll see these new Russian friends in any of the following books but I hope so. As always, each of these books can be read as stand alones but you surely don’t want to miss meeting each of these brothers. So if you haven’t already, take a look at this series. I love it so much and I hope you do too. “Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”

I myself wasn’t expecting that! This has been a very nice and surely, unexpected surprise 😊 4,5 stars rounded up to 5 Tempted & Taken is the 4th book in Haven Brotherhood series. First of all, I would like to say that I love these brothers and their "made" family. Actually, I can say that I envy their connection, their loyalty to each other and the unconditional love in the family they made by choice not by blood. The more I read about these guys, the more I feel as if I know them in real life and I want to be a part of their family. The more I read about them, the more I love them, each and every one of them! ********************************************* In the books of this series, there is always a thriller - suspense - action sub-plot and sometimes it steals from the romance more than I like. This book 4 has the best balance --> "As much as romance & steam as possible" and instead of a forced suspense for the sake of action, there is a suspense and action so very fitting to the whole atmosphere of the book. I loved each and every moment of this book and this is the first one in the series where I didn’t skip a page or a paragraph – I could not skip even a sentence! And there have been pages I went back and reread… just saying 😊 ********************************************* I recommend this book very much. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, the Haven Brothers is an experience that should be enjoyed fully by reading all books in order. “God, they were a motley group. Every one of them incredibly different and fallible on their own, but unbreakable and steadfast as a whole. And they were his. His brothers. The family he’d always wanted patiently waiting and willing to support his future however he chose to build it. They are loyal, caring, protective and sexy guys who are also very funny... This one is from the scene when Knox brings a girl home for the first time in his life. “Come on, brother. We gotta go.” Danny sputtered and volleyed his attention between Beck and Knox. “Man, I just started this beer.” “Toss it,” Beckett said. “Pigs just flew out my front door. I’ll buy you another one to celebrate when we get to the club.” And not only the brothers but the mums Ninette and Sylvie are also so much fun. And they are so good! “I can’t ever repay this,” she said so quietly only Ninette could hear. “Ever. Not what they’re doing. Not how everyone has treated me. None of it. It’s too much.” Just as softly, Ninette answered back. “What makes you think we’d want repayment? … I’m not sure where you got the idea there’s some karmic tally being kept, but to my mind, family doesn’t work that way. Especially not ours.” She paused long enough to dip her head toward Knox front and center with his fingers flying over the keyboard. “But if you’re worried about payback, then take a good look at my boy and think about this. I’ve seen him happier the last many weeks than the whole six years I’ve known him. He’s always been funny, but I’ve never seen him free. Not the way he is with you. So, if you ask me, any repayment’s been made a hundred times over.” KNOX & DARYA Knox is the sleepless, obsessive and restless computer geek in the family. This blond beautiful sexy man was deeply hurt in his younger years and now he puts a distance between himself and other women, by only getting involved in “no-strings attached” sex. Darya aka JJ is a Russian girl who lives in the USA. She is running from someone and that’s why she is using a fake identity. When they meet, I thought the secrets she were hiding would be the plot twist that would one day cause their separation but I am so happy that it didn’t go that cliché way because they slowly built their relationship based on trust and I freaking loved it! Although Knox was interested in a “sex-only” kind of relationship at the beginning, soon he falls hard and deep for the white-blond haired and ice-blue eyed beautiful Russian girl. “I don’t know what I’m doing. I just know what worked before isn’t working now, and I want you with me.” “What are you saying?” His mouth tightened and the rhythm of his inhalations accelerated. “I want strings. Ropes. Chains. Whatever it takes to bind you to me. And I want you in my bed. Mine. Not yours.” Oh wow, even rereading these lines makes me all hot – Knox is something else! Oh, let me give you one more "oh-so-hot" quote: “You okay?” Fabulous. Empowered and confident, and yet sheltered and protected, too. The combination was heady. Disconcerting and pleasant all at once. “I’ll be sore, but it’ll be the good kind,” she murmured. “There’s a good kind?” She shifted and peeked back at him. “I’ll feel it, and I’ll smile because I’ll remember.” OK, I cannot stop myself – here’s a fun one: “I thought we had a no-hands policy at work.” The second she was within grabbing distance, he snapped forward, grabbed her around the waist and tugged her into his lap. “Oh, we’ve got a no-hands policy all right. You promise no-hands on any man but me and I promise no-hands on any woman but you. Between the two of us, it’s a free-for-all.” Darya is a sweetheart, but she is also a very sensual woman. Knox and Darya share both an emotional bond and they also have a killer chemistry. Darya is a smart girl who Knox mentors so that she can have a place in the computer programming world. They have so many common interests. When Darya’s past comes and threatens her, Knox is her knight in shining armor. And the whole family of Knox, the Haven Brotherhood, becomes the best army to protect her! Ms. Morgan is a very good story teller. I read everything and felt like I was watching the movie of it. Although I dislike 3rd person point of view in writing. Ms. Morgan is one of those writers who can do it in the most decent way. ********************************************* The book is emotional, hot, sweet, funny and captivating. I have 2 more books to read in the series and as of now, Book 4 is my favorite and Book 1 follows it 😊 ********************************************* As far as safety goes, there is no cheating, no ridiculous OW/OM drama. No virgins. Protection is used and tests are done before going bare. And yay, there is no separation between them. So I would say it is totally safe. However, if you hate to read about man-wh*re heroes, there is a chance that you may dislike his way of life before meeting the heroine. I was totally OK with it but I am saying it for readers who dislike it. Having said that, I’d also like to add that there is no intimate scene with another person other than the hero/heroine. ********************************************* To lure you, I am giving some more QUOTES from the book – wink wink 😊 Knox’s voice rumbled low from behind Vance. “She said no.” It wasn’t a threat. Not exactly. But it brooked no argument. And it felt like a claim. A physical possession without boundaries that marked every inch of her from the inside out. *** “Please tell me you’re okay.” Lazily, she rolled her head and opened her eyes. “English is my second language and even I know better than to use okay for what we just did.” *** He turned for the bed and coiled his hand around the handle of one packed suitcase. “The only place you’re going is with me.” *** “I love my family. With what she says this guy is capable of and the risk it could bring down on everyone else, it might have been safer if I’d let her go, but I can’t.” He scanned his brothers. “She’s mine and I’m keeping her.” *** “I couldn’t see anything.” The words came from the very pit of his soul. A confession and a plea for her to understand. “It took ninety-seven seconds. Over a minute and a half when the bits and pieces I heard wouldn’t form a visual in my head, and you were in the thick of it. Without me.” *** “You going to be able to sleep?” “With you, I think I can do anything.” *** Sheer reflex and panic whipped through him, so powerful he nearly bolted upright. Just as fast, something far more instinctive locked him in place. Hell, cuffs around both his wrists couldn’t have bound him to Darya’s still-sleeping body more effectively. He let out a slow, measured breath. His heart stomped and kicked with the fury of a sugar-loaded two-year-old, and a cold sweat broke out on the back of his neck, but beneath it all was an unfamiliar calm. As if her presence beside him had somehow muted the pain and disappointment of his past enough to loosen his restraints and draw his first full breath in years. *** “You love me?” So vulnerable. A rawness she knew without a shadow of doubt he gave only to her. She cupped the side of his face and drew in his woodsmoke and black currant scent deep into her lungs, willing it to imprint deep for the lonely days and nights to come. “Another boundary I crossed, I know. But how could I not? You’re you.”

Knox has a history that broke all trust in women and love except those in his Haven family. He’s extremely skeptical when JJ approaches him regarding a business dealing. His first thought is protecting the family that means everything to him. As he moves forward to mentor her, he welcomes her into his bed but retains the walls he’s built for so many years. And then the unthinkable happens and every one of those barriers comes tumbling down. Knox was a complete possessive, protective hero and if that’s you jam then this is definitely a book you’re going to want to read. I loved watching him fall for Darya and then have to step back in order to give her the freedom he had promised her. This is a fast paced, action filled story with awesome characters, some who have had their own books and many more who have not. The steam between Darya and Knox is so great you’re gonna need a fan to help you get through the scenes. Or something a little more personal perhaps. Knox is off the charts all alpha male – almost like a wolf shifter in his manner of taking and claiming – and everything I want in my heros. 2nd Read: I was curious to see if my outlook on this book would change after reading the previous books in the series and I can honestly say you really don't have to read books 1-3 to enjoy this one. The author did a good job of playing up the importance of all the brothers right from the start so it wasn't something you needed to read in previous books to understand it. I loved this just as much the second time around and highly recommend books 1-4. 1st Read: This was crazy good! This is my first in the series and I don't know why I haven't started this series sooner. This has a lot of what I love to see. It follows the same group of people with each book which gives me more time to learn about and love each character more. I love the comradery of these men and how loyal they are to each other. How they are willing to do whatever is necessary to keep their family safe. I love how hard they fall for their women. Seeing them in protection mode is one of my favorite traits in a Hero. The character of the women in this series is just as appealing. The way they want to take care of their men is just as appealing as it is to see in the men. None of the women were annoying. The mom's in the group brought levity to the story. The only thing I could say I wish was different was that Knox pushed away in the beginning, but it also stayed true to his character and we got to see Darya bring him around. There are so many great men in this series and I can't wait to read all of their stories. ARC provided by Netgalley.

What a hell of a ride! Knox is everything I wanted and more. The smart techie HOT guy who is fast on his feet and nice-n-slow in bed. The mysterious background of the stunning Darya truly lured me in. This maybe my favorite one just because it's got a Russian bad guy, plus a good guy and girl. Knox fell quicker than the rest maybe cause he knew better than to fight it after watching three of his brothers fall. Darya was running, but she let Knox catch her. Beckett was hilarious. I'm sad. I've read them all, and now have to wait on Alec's HEA. It's going to be epic. Please don't make me wait too long. I hope Ms. Morgan has two more books planned for Danny and Ivan.

There is something so unique about this brotherhood here, and I just love the way that this story just grabbed at my attention.  I was super stoked because this is Knox's story. Now Knox is our resident nerd of the group and man he makes one sexy nerd. He is the brains behind their brotherhood and he keeps them so safe its almost on the brink of paranoia which is good because you never know what enemies you may have. Now Knox has an opportunity but one he isn't sure if he should actually tackle. JJ is a woman he can't resist with a russian drawl that gets him all bothered. When she comes to him looking for a job and to gain experience and learn from him, he is both curious and intrigued but also very cautious because he doesn't know much about her and he knows that she is hiding some secrets and even running from someone. What we see in this story is a heroine that is in serious distress. She is from Russia but she is on the run from someone who would carelessly kill and murder just to possess her. She has a new identity but from the moment she meets Knox, she wants more than just a fling, and she is drawn into this family of brotherhood, and we see her learning to take a leap of faith and trust in Knox and those he considers family. Knox has a bitter past when it comes to relationships. He was betrayed and refuses to enter into another relationship...until he meets J.J. and his world goes upside down. I believe that what made their relationship so intriguing was see Knox turned around by our heroine. He honestly is unbalanced with her, and boy was quite fun to watch. I really liked how well they connect and work together and their chemistry is off the charts. And of course we get some plenty fun times with the family and brothers that had me laughing out loud more than once. We also get a introduction to a new character (maybe) and introduced to a russian mafia type group that I didn't expect this author to bring in. Overall Tempted and Taken is a tale of edgy passion, thrilling rides, an emotional rollercoaster that blends in sizzling chemistry and beautiful dynamics of a romance that is bound to have you on the edge!!!   [foogallery id="25425"]

Knox likes to show his woman appreciation for the things she does, “now, brace, because I’m about to give you thanks for a solid night’s sleep in a way you won’t soon forget.” I loved Knox, the man was just sexy, "he motioned to the door with a lift of his chin. “You shut and lock that door then we’ll both be in the middle of something I don’t want interrupted.” I really liked this book, I adored Knox

4 Stars - 3 Flames You know when you pick up a book in a series you love and are ridiculously giddy, doing everything in your power to ignore life so you can read the book? That would be exactly what I did with this book. And oh my goodness how I've missed these men. I can't believe how effortless it was, diving right back in, like it hasn't been a while. Sigh...these Haven men. KNOX!!!!!!! Yep, the one and only. The coder, the hacker, the businessman, the friend...the dominant one. If you've been following this series, then you know that this story was one that we've been waiting to read for a while. We've known that Knox had some things happen in his past that helped "sculpt" the man he is today. In this book, we learn just what those things are. Being a player, never committing to one female, has been his motif for quite some time. That is until he's propositioned by a woman who's identity doesn't mesh and she becomes the puzzle he's dying to solve. Darya isn't exactly who she says she is. It's not like she's taking on a new personality or anything. Just an new identity. Why? Well, you're gonna have to read this to find out. But I'll say this much. Asking Knox for help is one sure way to NOT stay hidden. After all, he loves getting past Firewalls. But is Darya ready to face her past in order to have a future? She'd be dumb not to. The way this story develops is perfect. We not only get to know who Darya is, we get a better glimpse at what type of man Knox really is. The chemistry between Darya and Knox is obvious and bound to happen. But it's the "feels" that go along with it that make this so wonderful. Usually when we read about HEA's, it's the female we're always happiest for. Not with this one. Not with these men. It's Knox who I'm happiest for. So. Dang. Happy. This was so good!!! We get to visit with the Haven men again, but we even get to meet new characters that I'm finding myself obsessed with. But back to Knox...you guys have no idea how much further in love you're going to fall for him. You thought you loved Trevor? Buckle up and hold on to that eReader. *I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die tomorrow." I really love the Men of Haven series, but it was Knox's book that I was most looking forward to. Yeah, I'm a geek and I can't resist a tech nerd, especially a hacker. And the fact that he wears silly graphic T-shirts makes me like him even more. Darya is on the run. She's hiding in plain sight, getting by but wanting more. She made a promise to herself that she would live life to the fullest, "And running wasn't living." She recently moved to Dallas, TX where the weather is HOT and so is Knox. She's been doing her research after learning that he's the best in the business. Those photos of him that she saved on her computer, they are just part of her research. At least that's what she tells herself... every time she looks at them. She's taken the first step. She's reached out to him seeking a business meeting. Now all she has to do is wait, and check her email compulsively in the hopes that he will respond. Knox knows better than to consider a business meeting without first checking out the person requesting the meeting. While there's nothing alarming, his gut tells him that there's more to her story. When he sees her, he's even more curious. He can't deny that she's beautiful, and he wants her. But he resists the temptation to go there. He doesn't do relationships. He's decided that policy is best to insure, "Less trauma and no drama." The chemistry between Knox and Darya is intense, and his lust for her makes him rethink his stand on mixing business and pleasure. Will she take him up on his passionate promises knowing that he doesn't want more? She's all for living each day to its fullest, and his filthy mouth has her convinced that he can deliver. Why not enjoy today and worry about tomorrow later, right? It works for me, I wouldn't be able to resist him either. No judgment here. I'm so addicted to the sexy Men of Haven and their women. "Every one of them incredibly different and fallible on their own, but unbreakable and steadfast as a whole." They have each other's backs, willing to do whatever is needed to support each other. They are alphas and very protective of their women, but they are smart enough to give them the freedom to make choices for themselves. When the girls get together it's very entertaining and makes me wish I could join them for their mani/pedi days. I'm very happy to report that there are still plenty of sexy single men in the 'family' for us to look forward to in future installments. I can't wait to meet the women that will have them changing their ways and rethinking their future. And I especially can't wait for the family fun when it happens. They might be very supportive, but they can't resist poking and provoking each other and wagers make it even more interesting. I'm especially excited to meet the lass who gets what's beneath the kilt. The line forms here...

4.5 Stars! I’ve loved the world and the men and women of the Haven Brotherhood from the very first book. This one is no different. Loved Knox and Darya together. Renna Morgan has a talent for writing super alpha men who keep it to just the right side of sweet and her heroines are strong, capable women. And though I do love the characters individually, it’s this family as a whole that I love the most. The people who are always there and have your back no matter what, if it’s what you need. I will admit that I didn’t claim Knox right off the bat i.e. from the first time he appeared in Rough & Tumble (book 1) but he definitely made it on the radar in Wild & Sweet and was claimed via hashtag #KnoxIsMine long before Claim & Protect was done. And holy hell is this man EVERYTHING. He’s all kinds of sinfully smexy alpha AF male goodness, a little silly but still charming and then toss in the whole techy geek thing (which admittedly went over my head, but still…) and his huge...heart *BSEG* and I was done. Seriously...puddle of goo done. Darya. I’ll be honest and say that going in I wasn’t all that interested in the woman that would bring Knox to his knees because...well...it’s Knox. But holy hell did Darya bring me to my knees. She is now on my Girl Crush list, which isn’t easy to do. The strength and determination this woman has is amazing and add in a golden heart and just how comfortable she was in her own skin, owning everything from her intellect to her sexuality, and you have someone I’d love to have in my own inner circle any day. Their journey to their HEA was all kinds of fun. There were a few moments where I was all “Really? Really?” but as a whole the angst was low and the smexy was beyond nuclear. Seriously, have an ice bath or your B.O.B. (or man) ready to go, because Darya Knox are simply HAWT together! But outside of the smexy, they simply flowed well together and the best thing was how much they admired and respected each other’s brains and strength of will. There are a few things that pop up over the course of the book that make the road bumpy, but it all works out and I loved where they ended up. As always, the writing was engaging and the pacing done very well, but as you know that while I love getting to know the MC’s better and experiencing their journey, I have a thing for keeping up with the cast of character that are apart of the MC’s lives, especially when those characters are apart of their family and Ms. Morgan gave me exactly what I needed. I got to catch up with everyone apart of Haven, the men, their women and the moms (who are AMAZING) and yet never felt like they took over the story, but instead added to it in the best way possible. This isn’t to say that my interest was diverted a time or two by them, I'm still waiting for Axel to fall because it's Axel, but Sergei is now on my list and I'm hoping to see more of him in the future. But in the meantime Beckett is up next and I'm thrilled that the woman who is going to bring him to his knees is Gia because she is badass!! So bring on Stand & Deliver! Note: These can be read as standalones, but it's a lot more fun and satisfying if you read them in order. ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

Tempted & Taken is book four in the Haven Brotherhood series by Rhenna Morgan. The Haven Brotherhood is a group of unconventional alpha males that have become family. When he can’t stay away, well they have sex, and then it’s back to him staying away. After about a month of this, they finally try for a relationship spending time at each others places, but all we see is their strong attraction and their sexy times. Pretty much the romance takes place within a two month period; before they are wanting to get married. As for the suspense on why Darya is on the run. Well, we don’t see things pick up until much later in the book around the 315 page mark. I get why she ran, but it wasn’t an outstanding suspenseful reason. Unfortunately; Tempted & Taken didn’t win me over. I wasn’t feeling the romance nor the lead characters. I’ve loved the previous novels released, but not this one. I guess their will be one in a series that just doesn’t work. Rated: 3 Stars

Then you add Darya Volkova who had to hide her identity, wanting to work for Knox and the reader will be ready for a wonderful story of how this will all work out as these two are drawn together. Will Knox be able to save Darya from who she is running from? Will their chemistry that have for each other be able to keep them together? I loved how this author brings it all out about Knox past and why he was the way he was especially when it came to the women he came involved with. With all the Haven Men, with their wives and moms being involved again really makes this story so very real as they come together helping just when it was needed. Also, I liked some of the new characters that were new to this series that was added to give the reader a different spin in how the story turned out. I will say it was great seeing Knox with Darya. Now, will they get their HEA? Well you will just have to pick up "Tempted & Taken" to see how this author brings out another good series to the readers. All that is left for me to say is that Knox was truly one guy I loved reading about where he finally gets his happiness!

The sexy “nerd”: Morgan has introduced a different fantasy man in each of her Men of Haven books, and we finally come to the one that is geared to my specific fantasies. Although, Knox is more of a computer whiz than brainy geek (Rhenna, I’d still like a true Star Wars-obsessed nerd/history buff in a future book), he was still completely swoon-worthy. But, what really surprised me is how much I enjoyed the heroine. Let’s get into it! But, what really surprised me is how much I enjoyed the heroine. Let’s get into it! The Story- Darya is working to start a new life for herself, and she is determined that Knox Torren will be part of it. The computer whiz hacker has skills she can only dream of, but if she were to be mentored by him, she could start her own business and really be independent. Knox is suspicious of the mysterious woman who reached out to him with a “business proposal”. When he finally meets her, he has to know more. But, everything doesn’t add up with “JJ”. My Thoughts- If you read the previous Men of Haven books and hoped for a little more heat, you will be pleasantly surprised, because this is HOT! Personally, the full-on anal was a tad more than I wanted, but I know everyone has their preferences. While I loved the character of Knox as I expected to, I was surprised to like Darya so much. She is so straight-forward with her emotions and desires: a fully- confident woman who goes after what she wants when she decides. At the same time, she is not stuck up or off-putting. The new Russian characters are intriguing, and I cannot wait to see more from them in the future.  Bottom Line- If you, like me, adore the Men of Haven books, you are gonna love this one too. This is my fave contemporary series, and each book is like a piece of chocolate that I savor. I’m going back in for another piece (Beckett), but my bag is empty until sometime next year. 😦 Seriously, if you like contemporary at all, read this entire series. 5 stars

Knox knows the sexy Russian has secrets and though he's attracted he's determined not to cross that line, until his possessiveness and jealousy has him acting like a caveman. He doesn't do relationships but when Darya makes it clear she's willing to do just sex with him he's more than happy to get physical. This sexy Russian is different to every woman he's ever known and though he tries to keep his distance and keep it to sex only he soon realizes that what he usually does won't work with Darya. When Russian bad guys appear and Darya tries to run Knox knows it's time to claim his woman. This may be my favorite of the series(though I loved book 1 as well) but not quite all the love was for Darya and Knox. Knox's past of sleeping with women do he can be able to sleep came across just a bit sleazy to me. I didn't like the tiny glimpses of his past actions and the women that he inadvertently hurt by his choices. In the early part of his time with Darya he fought the pull hard. He stayed away from her sometimes without texting or calling until he wanted sex. When he pulled his head out of his ass, however, I absolutely adored him. Darya I loved, she was a sweetheart and was determined to make the best of her present circumstances. She had a crush on Knox from the first and wasn't afraid of asking for what she wanted. This I think, was definitely the hottest book of the series to date. While I liked Darya and Knox part of my love and subsequent high rating is for the sexy Russian Sergei! I wanted more of him and his guys, and as far as I understand there'll be a series with them!!! #soexcited All in all the men of Haven rallied again around their own, this time with the help of Russian badasses to take the bad guys down. We see more of the actual"brotherhood" between this band of brothers especially Beck and Knox. I'm hopeful Danny(please God not with Viv's sister) and Ivan(mmmm I've got a weakness for chocolate) both get their own books as well as the series with the Russians (do you hear me pleading dear author?). This series continues to be one of my favorite of all time, fingers crossed this author continues to deliver Alpha heroes of this caliber and the women who bring them to their knees. A definite win!

As always, I think it’s a good book if I like the female character, though in this case I think it’s well-written anyway, with plenty of little moments to keep me entertained. There was one scene about ¾ of the way through that seemed to drone on and on, but other than the fact I don’t think a Russian mob would simply let things go without being honor-bound to revenge, that’s the only negative I have for this. I was disappointed, however, in not getting a shot-by-shot account of the skeeball game. . .

I have been thoroughly enamored by Rhenna Morgan's Men of Haven this year, and I will be very impatient about having to wait until next year to get my next Haven alpha fix. This series is premised on a group of testosterone-laden men, some with tragic pasts, who have made their own family of in a sort of alpha brotherhood. While each makes his own independent living, the brothers stick together when the going gets tough or when there is fun to be had. Knox Torren is somewhat of an alpha geek, one that you often behind a computer screen writing code or hacking secure systems. He is also a serial ladies man, a love 'em and leave 'em (screaming after an orgasm) type. Though Knox doesn't set out to hurt the women he sleeps with, and is honest with them from the start that he doesn't do relationships, he can't quite keep them from getting emotionally involved. And who can blame them with the way Knox takes care of business? So why doesn't Knox do relationships, well that's a story for his tragic past that is better discovered by the reader. I liked Knox, but not quite as much as I went gaga for the previous heroes in the series. He was a bit more aloof and bullheaded about the "no relationships" aspect, and I felt like the bit about his past was a tad overblown. But that is me injecting my own sensibilities onto a fictional character. He definitely had talent, no doubt perfected by the repeated practice with women all over town. But once Knox fell... he fell hard and went after his woman with a single-minded determination. Darya Volkova has a tragic past of her own, one that has sent her into hiding in the United States from her native Russia. I loved Darya's philosophy of life... Dream Like You'll Live Forever and Live Like You'll Die Tomorrow. Despite being in hiding, Darya was trying to live a full life and I liked her adventurous spirit. I really liked this heroine. In fact, I can't think of one annoying thing about her. And that is a real compliment given my heroine-hating proclivities. I loved that Darya took things in stride and was willing to work with Knox and his issues, instead of creating a bunch of unnecessary drama. She also didn't run off half-cocked and get herself into needlessly dangerous situations. So it was like Rhenna looked into my head at all those annoying heroine traits, and she did just the opposite where Darya was concerned. It was refreshing. The relationship between Knox and Darya starts off casual, but the chemistry is explosive and the steam is off the charts. There was an abundance of sexytime for all you smut lovers, but there was also a bit of intrigue and suspense dealing with Darya's secret past. I do wish the action and suspense would have started a bit earlier, but I think that is me feeling a need for adrenaline lately. Overall, the story fit nicely into the series and I continue to enjoy watching the Haven family expand and grow stronger with the addition of each heroine. I am on tenterhooks waiting for Axel's book - and I continue to call dibs on his character. I would even love to see a novella or two for the moms - who need their own romantic interest! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Carina Press.
