I really expected something more from this arc but was disappointed when it ended so abruptly without even adding something substantial to the upcoming doomsday clock, well except for the fact that Oz's identity was revealed in its first issue. The Oz Effect also ended in a rather bleak and dark tone, this is also not what I have hoped for. I expected more of an ideological battle between Superman and Oz, something that used but not fully utilized in this story arc. I expected more of an ideological battle between Superman and Oz, something that used but not fully utilized in this story arc. Furthermore, I feel like Oz himself is underdeveloped. Now that he's around, I want his character better next time. Well at least this makes Doomsday Clock more personal for Clark. DC Metal is killing it now, so I hope Doomsday Clock will be at least as good as it.

THE OZ EFFECT - 3.5/5 stars There was a lot of predictability to the story and art was very inconsistent ,the Identity Revelation of Oz & ending appeared to have come out of nowhere and felt very underwhelming . An okay ending to an iffy arc. Not exactly as good as I was hoping, but still interesting and a good segway to doomsday clock.

This closes out the Oz Effect storyline. But no real closure (surprise there). I liked the ending and it left me wanting to know more. Guess I will hang around up to issue 1,000. No pressure on the creative team on Action for that milestone event. Maybe we get to meet the force behind Oz? Or the return of Zod?

The final two pages of this issue is the perfect example of Superman. The arc ends in mystery and doesn’t answer many questions. The blue light and devastating power near the end leads me to believe this story will die into Doomsday Clock. Hopefully we get answers.

The Oz Effect concludes... And not a moment too soon. This was pretty much a snooze fest from beginning to end. And the finale was no different.
