I got this one because the fruit and vegetable theme intrigued me. I never expected my youngest granddaughter to love it, but this book has always been her favorite. She'd asked me to read it to her over and over, now she reads it to herself. It's a short book and the illustrations are extremely simple. It's not the type of book you'd expect kids to love so much, but they do, and the lesson within sticks with them. This author and mom has a special talent to touch young readers.

I received a free kindle book of I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables by Shelley Admont from Amazon for fair review. I gave it almost a four star. It was a charming little tale about a family of bunnies. The youngest bunny only wanted to eat candy. Candy for breakfast, lunch & dinner & in between. He sneaks into the kitchen & props a variety of items to climb up to the high cabinet where his mother has placed the candy out of reach. He tumbles down in a crash & when he comes to his senses he has I received a free kindle book of I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables by Shelley Admont from Amazon for fair review. He tumbles down in a crash & when he comes to his senses he has shrunk into a miniature rabbit. His brothers rush to the rescue & encourage him to eat his vegetables. With each bite he takes, he grows a little. This was too much like a hare-brained Alice in Wonderland for my tastes. That's why I gave it only a three, almost a four star. This is an adorable book about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. This book can be used with younger children when nutrition is the topic of discussion. Although, it is important to let the younger children know that this book is fiction and that people do not grow at that rapidly. I would say that this book would be best suited for K-2.

I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables is a delightful story to use to encourage children to try new fruits and vegetables and one that my preschool children in the classroom loved and asked to hear again. The story brought out the concept that fruits and vegetables help children grow big and strong using a cute little bunny named Jimmy.

A story of why kids should eat fruit and veggies. The character had never tried the food yet he despised it. In the end he liked the food (of course). My question is. ..what had he been eating before this? Perhaps if it had been one type of veggie then the story would have made more sense to me. The illustrations and coloring were good and keep the reader engaged.

Fruits and veggies I liked this book because it reminds you to eat your fruits and vegetables. And not a lot of candy. I put five stars because fruits and vegetables make you stronger and candy makes your teeth rot

Nice book! Is a nice way to teach the kids the importance of eating vegetables... Jimmy wants some candy and he search for the new bag of candy in the kitchen but falls off the chair and this made him small.. eating vegetables is the only way to grow again!...

I absolutely adored this book, lol! The colors are inviting. The story is hilarious. I can think of a few yuck mouth adults I wish I could get to read this book. I think this book will make kids laugh and brush their teeth. No one, especially children want to be talked about and excluded about something they have control over like brushing their teeth. Good job Shelley!

Downloaded for free from Amazon.co.uk Well I thought this was okay, although my 4-year-old didn't really like it. We didn't even get all the way through before he had had enough.

I bought this for myself because I'm learning Spanish. It really helps to have the side to side translation as I go. The story was a little longer than I expected, making an excellent length.

My daughter is still too young to appreciate anything I read her, but after going through this, I'll pass on introducing this one to her once she's older. *I* enjoyed it, but I also couldn't help but read it as the demonically-possessed toothbrush tormenting a poor little boy to get its sick jollies, in the end brainwashing the poor child into doing its bidding. (Also, am I the only one who thought his friends were jerks for shunning him like that? (Also, am I the only one who thought his friends were jerks for shunning him like that? I know the ultimate goal is just to get him to brush his teeth, but having your friends abandon you just because of a little bad breath - which probably wouldn't even be that bad, unless he'd just eaten something strong-smelling - doesn't mean you need to brush your teeth, it means you need new friends.) All in all, it was pretty hilarious, but is this kind of tactic really effective in teaching children to brush their teeth? I think it would more likely scare them away from brushing their teeth, since it suggests the possibility that if they accidentally offend their toothbrush, they'll starve and lose all their friends. Still, the illustrations were nicely done, and it was undeniably entertaining.

Downloaded for free from Amazon.co.uk This was quite a quirky story about a talking toothbrush who used magic to get Jimmy bunny to brush his teeth. MY 4-year-old thought it was scary though!
