*I received a copy of this book through a GoodReads giveaway* I'll freely admit, when I first read the title to this book, I had a rather different type of "dirty-mind" in mind. Luckily I braved past the title and my own slight guilt to find the book is a self-help guide for removing negative thoughts and promoting positivity and happiness through the Adapt2 system. Adapt2 is an acronym standing for Attitude, Discipline, Action, Patience, Training, and Trust (that 2 for a second "t"). Both Kirk and Linda Thomas share heart-felt stories of their own struggles and how they both have used the Adapt2 system to change their lives for the better. All self-help books give guidance, but what I really liked about the Dirty-Minded Christian is that the author's personal stories and practical application of the technique really help to make it memorable. The more memorable, the more likely to be applied. The book is directed towards a Christian audience, but I think anyone could benefit from the guidance and techniques suggested. We could all use more happiness and positivity in our lives and it's nice to see someone develop an easy to use system that can make a positive impact for ourselves, our families, friends and communities in general. The Golden Rule is the Golden Standard for conduct, but knowing how to decide to Act or be Patient isn't always easy.
