I loved the original three Hope Lake books. They were charming and well written. This book was rushed. There no emotion in the ending of the two main characters. And the ending of the Hope Lake story tore my heart into pieces and made me so mad. But the main reason for only giving this two stars is that it was hard to read. There were multiple typos or grammatical errors on each page which made it confusing to read. I shouldn’t have to work as hard as I did to understand such a short story. I felt like I was reading a rough draft. Did anyone at the publishing company read this? I can deal with a couple of odd errors, but this was every page.

Love finds its way into the hearts of Dr. Max Reese and Camille Douglas, a traveling journalist, during the most magical time of the year. A cozy small town holiday romance novella that is delightful to read -- but leaves you wanting more.

I’ve been looking forward to this book for over a year. I love the characters of Hope Lake and I was looking forward to Max getting his HEA. And I guess he got it, but I have no idea how it happened. There was one sort of reluctant kiss between Cami and Max and then we got a 5 year epilogue. I’m going to be honest, it seemed rushed. There were more mistakes in this book than I can ignore. It’s like we got half a love story, and not the good half. What I read was a decent story. Great descriptions and a terrific reunion of lots of characters I’d come to love, but this was not a romance book. There were no romantic feelings expressed between the two main characters. I’m not sure what it was. Actually, disappointing, that’s what it was.

Hope Lake is a town I’ve been wanting to visit in 2020 after having bought some of Nina Bocci’s books earlier this year. But with the year being what it is, I haven’t gotten to read all the books I’ve wanted to. Luckily, when I saw that there was a Hopeless Romantics novella released, and with it being a holiday novella, I knew I’d make more of an effort to take a trip to this small town. And I’m glad I did. From Hope Lake, with Love was a great novella to read around the holidays, as I did. From Hope Lake, with Love was a great novella to read around the holidays, as I did. From the very beginning it pulled me in through the pages…straight into an East Coast snowstorm. Just where I like to be for a holiday read. The way the setting was written made me feel the cold, see the snow, and enjoy the atmosphere that only a quiet evening in the snow can make you feel. And Bocci doesn’t waste any time setting the stage for what this town of Hope Lake is like. From the moment Cami steps out of her car and finds herself in the local bakery with some of the women in town, you can feel how special Hope Lake is. It’s such a character in itself. And the slow burn of the romance that builds in the chapters following lends itself to the magical world Bocci has written. I loved discovering this town and all it’s citizens along the way with Cami. It was both of out first times here, and like her, I don’t think it’ll be my last visit. Maybe the coming year will be perfect for me to read the three novels in this series. They are sitting on the shelf right next to me as I type after all.

Nina Bocci has brought us a short romance book in the Hopeless Romantics series. And Dr. Maxwell Reese is finally getting some love. And it does not hurt that she will also forge a great relationship with Maxwell since they are well matched. They have such great chemistry that you want them to be together. It definitely sucks that this was a short story. I wish we had more time with Maxwell and Camille because I wanted more of their romance.

This story was sweet, and it made me want to visit Hope Lake so bad! However, I was expecting a bit more from this. I wanted farther into the Christmas season and getting to know Max and Cami better, as well as their relationship together. I wasn't sold that they had a connection. I suppose I didn't realize how short the book was as I purchased it through the kindle, so I was really taken aback when it ended, feeling incomplete. Having recently enjoyed "The Ingredients of ou and Me", I was looking forward to reading more about the characters in Hope Lake. This book is very short(94 pages) and it did seem a bit rushed to me. We meet a new character, Cami, and the majority of this book centers around her. I would have liked more updates on the characters who are well known from the previous book. This is a cute story but there were many grammatical errors which should have been caught prior to publication. This whole series is one of my favorite because the characters are so addictive. The way that they care about each other and their humor is just top-notch. This introduction of characters and a wrapup of all the other characters was such a welcome read. Of course I have to say I did cry several times towards the end. But just such happy tears for all of their stories.

It was so nice to return to Hope Lake and hear from some of my favorite characters in the Hopeless Romantics series! This novella follows Cami, a California travel writer who is spending some time in Hope Lake, Pennsylvania to write her final article for the travel magazine she works for. The story also follows Dr. Max Reese, who I’ve been hoping would get a story since meeting him in Meet Me On Love Lane.
