What a collection of stories. I kept waiting for a clunker. I kept expecting that with a collection this long, all mostly post-apocalyptic, they would start to feel samey. My expectations were shattered. Even though a lot of the stories explored the same territory, they vary drastically. Some, like Rusty’s Run, which is a story told from the point of view of the family dog, I’d have never seen coming, but even those that fit what I’d expect to see from the genre were unique, creative, and entert What a collection of stories. If this is a genre you like, definitely give it a read. You might even find some new authors to follow. Not to mention the good reads here and having some of your money go to a good cause. **Originally written for "Books and Pals" book blog. May have received a free review copy. **

I was given an advance copy of The Will to Survive and have so far read Phase 6, a story of a husband and wife on a mission to find their daughter after the world has been plagued with a deadly virus, leaving its victims with a disease that at first presents with flu and pneumonia like symptoms but then mutates to something far worse. The search for their daughter will potentially lead them into danger from victims who are out for humans, as food. The search for their daughter will potentially lead them into danger from victims who are out for humans, as food. It was a vivid and compelling story that revolves around a mother’s love. I could empathize with her plight and her need to go on when it appeared all was lost. She was strong and driven, the type of heroine you’d want on your side in the middle of the apocalypse. Very believable story line and I was able to connect with the characters, something which proves difficult in novella length fiction for me, given the short page space.

A pretty good collection overall Though there were a couple stories I wasn't crazy about, most of them were quite enjoyable. I was happy to see the Joshua Guess story in particular, as I am a big fan of his books. How to survive in different scenarios. Found new authors reading this and revisited old favorite ones. Enjoy. Survive I read this book over a year ago. I saw I didn't write a review. TWTS. - ACAFHR. TWTS. Is a compilation of various types of short stories that place humans in dangerous areas. The stories are popular because you can compare them to current events like those that are happening in the Climate Change. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
