There was a lot that I loved about this book. I admire the author’s love of old things...but I did find a lot of the photos quite cluttered...I don’t think I could live like that. That being said I did love a lot of the photography in this book...it made me want to look out for hidden treasures.

A love letter to the objects of yesteryear, artfully displayed in a coffee-table style hardback. I look forward to 50 years from now when the ribbon bookmark is frayed and the pages yellowed. Until then, I’ve incorporated For The Love Of Old into my living room decor: on a decorative tray with succulents, seashells, candles, and brass.

A fabulous coffee table type book. I would love to own it just so it could be available for admiring at the exact right moment. It contains some fabulous old world type images and inspiration. I especially love the preserved flower bouquet image on pages 84 - 85. I found some pages to contain valuable information such as photographic preservation tips and enjoyed how the book was presented. Really three and a half stars This is an absolutely gorgeous book. Not that great for useable content, but oh, so lovely. I read this one night during Comfort Island, and it was so gorgeous I was compelled to take pictures of it.

This book makes me happy....The only thing that it is missing is the wonderful smell of an old house...dusty books....old perfume on stained lace...Everytime I look at this book all I want to do is curl up and sink into the pages.

This book again like Mary Randolph Carters other book wasn't as great as I was hoping it would be. But it was fun to look at some of the pictures. This book again like Mary Randolph Carters other book wasn't as great as I was hoping it would be. But it was fun to look at some of the pictures.
