Stone, an alpha wolf and tracker for the council, was on an unusual but easily completed job; all he had to do was pick up a runaway omega and return him to his home pack. It sounded simple enough when he took the assignment, but when Stone catches sight of Wyatt, living in a derelict cabin in the middle of nowhere, he knows his life is about to change. Wyatt, omega wolf, has been on the run from a forced mating for three years; living hand to mouth, doing his best to raise his four-year-old sister, Maddie. Always watching over his shoulder, scared to interact with anyone, he has no idea how much his life will change when a stranger knocks on his door during a summer storm. But Wyatt’s past isn’t about to let him go and when the council gets involved, Stone must do his best to protect the man who stole his heart and the sweet little girl who calls him Uncle. After all, if you can’t stand the heat…. This is a short standalone story in my Alpha and Omega universe. 21,700 words. References to intended rape (didn't happen and is off page) may be a trigger for some. M/M true mates shifter story.

Ok 3.25 ⭐️ This one was ok, but being a shorter story didn’t really have the character development I would have liked. I liked Stone and his friends and I loved Wyatt and Maddie but I kind of expected Wyatt to have more reservations about who looked after Maddie especially after being on the run for 3 years. Also the part with the council didn’t work for me and lowered my overall rating, not only with the way the women were treated but in how the systematically replaced councillors that didn’t agre Ok 3.25 ⭐️ This one was ok, but being a shorter story didn’t really have the character development I would have liked. Yes they needed a shake up but surely representatives could have been found from outside their own circle

2.5 stars. No character nor relationship development. Focus was cleaning up council corruption and establishing female/omega rights.

Just OK Lisa Oliver is a wonderfully talented author and I have read so many of her books (some I have reread because I enjoyed them so much) but this story I didn't enjoy as much. It was OK - this didn't have have her normal story telling abilities. Characters were not engaging- and at some points unbelievable. Story felt rushed like going from letter A to letter C with letter B being totally omitted. Not her best work but I am still a devoted fan of Ms. Oliver. When Wyatt's uncle hires Stone to bring Wyatt and Maddie back he feels there is something not quite right about it all. When he finally meets up with Wyatt he discovers they are fated mates and finds out all of the evil things Wyatt's uncle has done to him. Stone and Wyatt mate and interrupt the uncle's plans he has in the works. There's more to it than that, but given it's on the short side I don't want to accidentally give out spoilers. The book is about 90 minutes long. I love both Wyatt, Stone and Maddie. As well as Stone's military buddies. The characters were easy to relate to. Stone and Wyatt were great together. The angst is on the low end of medium. It's mostly all Wyatt's angst. It was a good book.

Much too short and hurried to be a great story. . . Oliver has good plot ideas, and her longer books are quite satisfying. However, this one has way too many juicy side storyline possibilities that never satisfactorily play out, leaving the reader frustrated and questioning. Stone's evolution from rogue to council member deserved more developed details, as did Wyatt's transition from runaway omega to councilmate. Just, no. This was too great of a storyline to be a novella, and ended up as a very unsatisfying read and waste of time, not to mention money. Two and a half stars for the potential, though the editing has gotten better over the writer's span of publications.

Educating the council Stone took a simple job for money that turned into a career and life changing. Wyatt main concern was his sister and he ended up with both of them safe and love. He is a force for change.

4.5 stars A short but sweet book. Stone is the perfect alpha and Wyatt the perfect omega! Stone is strong, fair, protective and good and Wyatt is caring, sweet, resourceful and can stand up for himself and others. Really enjoyed their story!

I loved it! I absolutely LOVE this series. This book was a great addition. I really loved Wyatt, he's one of my favourite omegas. I would recommend this book to anyone who love hunky alpha men falling all over themselves to keep their omega smiling. I loved it! I absolutely LOVE this series. This book was a great addition. I love Lisa Oliver books. This is another one of AlphaOmega Lo did when the underdog or underomega bets to right the wrong dinero him and others. And a strong alpha who has his back

Stone is the only alpha who didn't act like a di*k. He's so gentle toward Wyatt and Maddie. My favorite story of the series. Stone is the only alpha who didn't act like a di*k. He's so gentle toward Wyatt and Maddie. My favorite story of the series.

Had previously read this book in SuMMerheat Anthology. Stone and Wyatt's story. Was fast paced. Well written. Enjoyable and entertaining to read. All the characters were likable. Except of course some of the Council members. Great read. Had previously read this book in SuMMerheat Anthology. Stone and Wyatt's story. Was fast paced. Well written.
