To keep her secret Nathaniel stipulates they have a secret summer affair of fucking each other to oblivion. And so they do. She has safely guarded a fanbase for three characters, who we met very briefly but most likely have already fallen in love with. This novella is brilliant in its purpose. There are many authors out there that set prequels in order to build the hype around the rest of the series. So that there is a readership before the read. I find, more times than not - that can go severely bad for me. There are times when I completely lose interest in the prequel and then once the first of the series is published, I'm not anticipating it at all. Because I have already met the character that it's about and don't connect. So, she gives us Nathaniel and Juliette. Let's break down the level of brilliance. i) Same world = in which we meet the other three characters. Gabe, James and Arsen. ii) Different Story = in which we fall in love with Nathaniel and Juliette, so either way we are reading the series to see them again. ❮ cue the damn applause ❯ The Romance “His ocean eyes, dark and hard—held the universe in them. A universe he was offering to me.” This was a brilliant read and the romance was scorching hot. After seeing the whole goodreads buddy read this and end up giving it 5 stars, I refused to go with missing out. So granted, there is only so much legroom for an author to work with when it comes to novellas and short stories. You have to gain your readers attention, build the world, achieve characterization and make two people fall in love all in a short page span. This was honestly so close to perfect. I felt that the characters were a bit two dimensional at times, and some of the lines were slightly cringey. I love me some dirty talk though, and damn did Nathaniel Radcliffe deliver. The whole premise of the secret society of the elite and wealthy reminded me a lot of "The Riot Club". The premise of wealth, power, and fame is a trope that has been done before but she brings a whole new freshness to it. Where we don't get assholes and cocky bastards. But kind and loyal ones??? (See? Brilliant) Another thing that got on my nerves a tad was the commands that Nathaniel kept giving to Juliette. The whole "sit", "open", "close" etc. did not do it for me. At first it was a bit infuriating because no woman should be spoken to like a dog. (this is not a pet play erotica, please don't mistake it for one). However, later on it just got funny. I get the premise of two controlling people on the streets and one controlling person on the sheets. But that was just a tidbit that rubbed me the wrong way. That does not go to say that it took away from the romance at all! I loved witnessing Nathaniel and Juliette fall in love together and honestly cannot wait for the first of the series to release!! Arsen is my new fucking favourite and just my luck that he's book three. Thankfully, all of them are set to be published this year apparently so !!!!!!! “He stared at me like I was precious, like I was the stars he had searched for and I couldn’t breathe”

Filthy Gods is the prequel to the brand new series, American Gods, by R. Scarlett. Wow, what a start into this new series. R. Scarlett has proven that she can make the transition from paranormal romance to contemporary seamlessly. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this new series and am now most definitely hooked. I can safely say that I will follow this author anywhere! Juliette Monroe is not the typical Yale Law Student. She is not rich, nor even well off. I can safely say that I will follow this author anywhere! Juliette Monroe is not the typical Yale Law Student. She is not rich, nor even well off. Being raised in the foster care system, she is there on scholarship. But she keeps this fact hidden. She has to work to be able to stay in school so during the year she works at the school library The summer between her junior and senior year, though, she has gotten a job working at the prestigious Hawthorne Country Club. Juliette was sure that she would be safe working at the country club this summer. She researched it. But then she saw HIM. The bane of her existence. Her fiercest competitor for the top group of students and the man that seems to take great pleasure in making her life miserable. “His golden words. His mind had aroused mine even before his body had.” Nathaniel Radcliffe was one of the most powerful men at Yale, one of the American Gods. These young men were rich and pampered, never wanting for anything. Together they were feared. For three years he had watched Juliette, wanted her, fought with her, debated her in class. She was a distraction, never far from his thoughts. And here she was at the country club for an entire summer. He saw the opportunity and he was going to take it. He would make her a deal, a way to rid themselves of this distraction once and for all. For the summer, she would be his. “A deal with the enemy.” Nathaniel and Juliette enter into a summer only fling. Saying that it was hot would be a gross understatement. These two were explosive together. Juliette has to keep reminding herself that there are no feelings here, that this is a summer thing. As the summer progresses, though, this becomes harder and harder to remember. “He never let others control him. He never let others dictate his time or presence He was steel and iron. Forged and unbreakable. I felt like delicate glass in his powerful hands.” So, WOW, as I already said. I think that even more than I loved Nathaniel and Juliette together, I loved the premise of the American Gods. These young men who together, wield so much power. There is so much to be learned about his three friends and I can’t wait to find out, to get to know their stories. Rebecca, you have definitely gotten me, hook, line and sinker. I can’t wait for more and I need it now!!! “Semper fidelis. Always faithful. Always loyal.”

This is a story about a girl named ARC provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. “The only thing I was afraid of was my own mortality in front of him. Gods fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece.” Filthy Gods has the atmosphere and feeling of The Secret History, but the romance and the sexiness of nothing else I’ve read before. Best new adult romance I’ve read all year. And my heart breaks that it’s only a novella, because I need so much more. This is a story about a girl named Juliette, who has had to work so very hard at everything she has achieved in life. But despite not having anyone in her life besides herself, she has managed to attend Yale. And not only just attend Yale, but is one of the best pre-law students in all of her classes. Yet, there is one boy named Nathaniel, who she is rivals with, and who was born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Juliette and Nathaniel are constantly trying to one up each other, but when Juliette starts working at a country club that Nathaniel’s mother owns, the power dynamic feels very imbalanced. Especially when neither of them can stop thinking about each other, and especially because they are both going to be at the country club all summer. “For three years, I’ve competed against Nathaniel Radcliffe. Always trying to be better, smarter, faster—anything more than him. And in a matter of seconds, all that had crumpled to soot around my sore knees.” Together they decide that the only way that either of them is going to be able to function this summer is for them to finally get whatever it is out of their systems. And the romance in this is off the scale. Like, I truly believe these two fictional characters are soulmates! Between their banter, to them challenging each other, to their in-depth discussions about everything, to their phenomenal sex scenes, these two were a joy to read about. And you all know that enemies/rivals to lovers, will always be my favorite trope of all time. “I wanted to pretend that my heart beating inside of me was from my hatred of him and him alone, but I knew as he kissed me, my heart had already begun to betray my mind.” And let me clearly state that I completely understand that there is a huge power imbalance between these two main characters, but R. Scarlett does a wonderful job making sure and reassuring that everything is consensual and wanted. But there are a few trigger and content warnings for attempted rape, sexual assault, talk of death of a parent, death of a friend, physical abuse, abandonment, and talk of past child abuse. But all of these things are always challenged, and none are glorified or anything like that. But this is a starting pre-novella to what will eventually be a three book series starring each of the four elite, rich, sexy, god-like men of Yale: ➽ Nathaniel - Star of this novella. Super intelligent, super rich, and super powerful. ➽ Arsen - Russian, with family that has all the connections. ➽ James - Addicted to adrenaline and seems like he is going to be the ultimate “bad boy” type character. ➽ Gabe - The most powerful and beloved of the four. Will probably be president of the United States one day. “There was something untouchable, something holy and unholy about the boys. Sacred and sinful all at once. Bastards of Grace. Fame, wealth and power poured out of them. They were the things of legends and myths.” Overall, I loved this completely and wholeheartedly. This was sexy, and romantic. This was so beautifully written and expertly crafted. This was nothing short of a treat to read. I cannot wait to see what R. Scarlett does next with this world. But if you guys are looking for the perfect little romance story, I can’t recommend this enough! Do yourselves a favor and don’t miss out on this. And Rich Boys Don't Have Hearts is now one of my most anticipated releases, and I can’t wait to read Gabe’s story. What I wondered about this book more than anything was if it would live up to the hype. I've been disappointed in the past due to the overinflated buzz surrounding a book, but thankfully, that wasn't the case here. It's easy for me to see why everyone seems to love this book! The content was excellent quality for a novella. While the story is short and fast paced, it still managed to keep me invested in the characters and felt like a complete story. It intrigued me the whole way through whether it was because of the main couple or the secondary characters. Usually, the conclusion of most books of similiar length leave me wanting more, but the end of this one was satisfying. Filthy Gods is a new adult romance with a cocky hero, a strong willed heroine, and an abundance of heat. Nathanial Radcliffe and Juliette Monroe are intelligent, ambitious, and competitive. Their intensity in the academic arena translates in the bedroom where they're even more passionate about each other than their future careers. That's saying a lot when it comes to these two. Overall, Rebecca Scarlett impressed me with her beautiful writing and captivating storytelling. She set the stage for the upcoming books in the series perfectly, and I'm literally craving more of the "American Gods." Fans of new adult romance shouldn't hesitate to pick up this one! Facile plot line, and one-dimensional characters. The usual anodyne of uber wealthy, blindingly beautiful college guy, who somehow knows how to f*ck like a porn star. Gosh, I’ve never scoffed or eye-rolled as much as I did while reading this book.

I had been fighting against the electric pull between us. ‘FILTHY GODS:’ Is the prequel to R. Scarletts brand spanking new series ‘American Gods #0.5’ In this we meet our Heroine ‘Juliette Monroe’ and our Hero ‘Nathaniel Radcliffe the third’ Twenty one year old Nathaniel was truly born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the superior golden boy, friends of the elite American Gods which consisted of three men (James, Gabe and Arsen) no one messed with this group, the untouchables, power bled from them, sex appeal oozed from them. These three men along with Nathaniel ruled Yale with an iron fist, ruling over campus with their secret society. With a body sculpted by the gods themselves, is Juliette going to be well over her head or has he met his match in every way?? Juliette: Unlike Nathaniel, Juliette didn’t come from a wealthy family, being raised within the foster care system she’d been moved from foster home to foster home, she strived to make a better life for herself. No one knew at school that she didn’t have a dime to rub together, she was there riding on a well deserved scholarship. For three years these two have been at logger heads against each other, trying to always outdo the other, both competitive to a fault. Both were majoring in law and strived to be at the top. Nathaniel's family owned the ‘Hawthorn Country Club’ the exact place where Juliette worked as a maid. The families of the rich and famous flocked to this very establishment. She despised him with a vengeance, his cocky, arrogant ways forever rubbed her up the wrong way. Until he comes up with a cunning plan, just for the summer they will leave their inhibitions at the door and have a fling, to rid themselves of the distraction the other brings to then focus on their careers after the summer. I completely fell under this authors spell when I was introduced to 'When sinners Kneel' which became one of my first favourite books this year but what blew me away even more was the transition that appeared so effortless jumping from what she would normally bring us in terms of her paranormal reads to her first time within the contemporary Romance genre, it just goes to show that she is a force to be reckoned with because this book was truly a masterpiece of a talented writer and I amongst all the others can not wait to see what else she brings us with this series..

He was a mere man, I knew that, but he and his friends were treated like gods. It didn't help they looked it, too. Intimidating, perfect and deadly." Unlike most of her classmates at Yale who were born with silver spoons in their mouths, Juliette Monroe has to work twice as hard to keep up her grades and afford to go to school. That means it's work for her while they party after school and go on vacations during breaks. She strives to stay on top of the class for a better chance of going to Yale Law but is always bested by Nathaniel Radcliffe, the epitome of rich and privileged. She's so close to the finish line but things get complicated when her enemy discovers the secret she's been hiding for the last three years. Nathaniel has the upper hand and knowing him, he's not afraid to use it. He offers to keep her secret for a price. What Juliette doesn't know is she's going to enjoy every bit of it. I say this a lot: I'm not usually a fan of alpha males in books. But R. Scarlett is one of the authors who writes alpha heroes I just can't resist. Nathaniel Radcliffe is every bit the alpha with his commanding personality, filthy mouth, and hot as sin body. He is assertive but is patient in getting what he wants. Loyal and protective of the people who mean the most to him. If you hear someone swooning, that's me. I admire Juliette and her hard work and resilience. She doesn't let these people intimidate her and let anything get in the way of her dreams and goals. Despite their social status, Juliette and Nathaniel are equals. They're both smart go-getters, so it's not a surprise that they're (secretly) attracted to one another. The length of the story is perfect for Nathaniel and Juliette, showing the positive crackling connection that's been brewing between them since they met. And boy is it explosive. I swear my heart was beating so fast the whole time I was reading this because the sexual tension between them is that intense. You're in for a treat with this steamy enemies-to-lovers romance between two of the smartest students at Yale. Oh and Rebecca, may we please please please have the rest of the American Gods now? Astrid - The Bookish Sweet Tooth

As a rule I don't rate novellas 5 stars. It's an extremely difficult task to write much of a story into a very limited word count. So when there comes one along that actually feels almost like a full length novel I make an exception. Filthy Gods is the first in the American Gods series by R. So when there comes one along that actually feels almost like a full length novel I make an exception. Filthy Gods is the first in the American Gods series by R. Scarlett - it's a longish novella I didn't want to stop. This enemy-to-lovers story is addictive as hell and reminded me in that sense of Erin Watt's The Royals. The setup is similar - a couple boys who are the top dogs at Yale, rich, entitled, gorgeous and a girl, poor and struggling to make ends meet. However, this is where the similarities end. Filthy Gods is dirtier, steamier, hotter. We see Nathaniel through Juliette's eyes, manipulative, arrogant, super-smart and of course we hate him at the beginning but as she softens towards him we realize that he is good, loyal to a fault, protective and sweet, and entirely obsessed with Juliette. I couldn't stop sighing and probably had hearts as eyes, he was amazing. He so believed in Juliette and supported her, tried to strengthen her and had her back. “I don’t need your help.” “No, you don’t,” he agreed. “You could get whatever you want without anyone’s help. You’re capable and strong, and intelligent. And you deserve all of the success I know you’ll have. More than I ever will, more than any bastards whose parents paid their way into Yale.” And damn, his filthy mouth! This heroine is feisty, strong and has severe trust issues, no surprise, all she ever learned about people is that they'll eventually leave. She rather runs before exposing herself but Nathaniel doesn't let her get away with it. You know how some heroines just grow on you over time? Yeah, Juliette is one of those. She isn't somebody you fall in love right away, there is too much anger in her for that, but the more time she spends with Nathaniel, the softer she becomes. It was a little heartbreaking to see how alone she'd been until he came into her life. I had fixated on Nathaniel Radcliffe as my enemy. He became a force that pushed me further, made a powerful energy thrive inside of me to meet him for every challenge. Juliette and Nathaniel are very alike, apart from their lineage. Both are highly competitive, ambitious, their futures all mapped out. They both work hard to become what they are destined to be. He was already inside of me. Consuming me. Burning me. He had been for years and now I was laid out in front of him to feast on When you reach the end of Filthy Gods you are rewarded with one of the sweetest epilogues, I adored it but was sad that it was over. For some reason these two characters have sneaked up on me in the short period of a novella and settled firmly in my heart. This book also introduces the main characters of the upcoming full length novels and let me tell you those boys are hellraisers. They have angst written all over them. R. Scarlett is a new to me author - I bought a couple of her books a while ago but haven't gotten around reading them yet. I was not above begging for an ARC when I read the blurb for Filthy Gods. This author has an effortless writing style that makes you go on reading although your eyes are dragging and you actually need to sleep. This novella is a fast read though, I breezed through it. This series is off to a good start!

I had been fighting against the electric pull between us, but I was becoming hungry for more of him.” Amo descobrir novos autores e principalmente me supreender! Adorei a narrativa, me prendeu desde a primeira página!

Coming May 15th, 2018! Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them. And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them. As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers. The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other. Deadly opponents, deadlier minds. I'd sworn I'd never give him the upper hand, until... The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years? He just discovered it…and now he has all the power.

What if Paper Princess and The In Crowd had a book baby? A sexy, thrilling, and addicting book baby that will captivate you from the very first page and have you hooked on a new series of bad boys? Well, my friends, that would be this book and it would be this series. Because holy mother of book crack was this good! There was something holy and unholy about the boys. Sacred and sinful all at once. Bastards of Grace. Fame, wealth and power poured out of them. They were the things of legends and myths. A group of men so rich and powerful they can only be known as American Gods? Sign me up! This is a prequel to what's set to be an amazing new series from R. Scarlett. And while it was a novella, it was wholly satisfying. Surprisingly so. I'm not usually a reader that gravitates towards novellas, because they always leave me wanting more. And don't get me wrong, this book left me craving, but craving the rest of the series. The novella itself was a complete story, perfectly paced, and entirely satisfying. Juliette is barely making ends meet. As the girl from the wrong side of the tracks, she's desperately hiding her humble past while trying to make a name for herself at Yale among the wealthy and the entitled. And at the top of the food chain are the American Gods. Nathaniel Radcliffe may not be one of those bad boys, but he's in with them. He's wealthy, connected, powerful, and her biggest rival in school. Used to his calculated and educated debates with her in class, it's unnerving to be on the receiving end of it outside of school. Especially when she finds out that the country club that she works at is also one that his family owes. And his silence is going to cost her. They agree to a summer fling to work their unwanted lust out of their system, but nothing is ever quite so simple. I felt like delicate glass in his powerful hands. I fought him—thrust for thrust, kiss for kiss, nip for nip, and he met me each time, working each other to a pleasure so intense, I feared it would end us both. The novella introduces the reader to a secret society of men. Men that are powerful, broken but deadly. I was salivating at the mere mention of the American Gods and practically shaking to get my hands on their books. Because the set up? DELICIOUS. As for this book? It was fantastic! I loved the instant and undeniable chemistry between Nathaniel and Juliette. I loved how Juliette's strength and perseverance shined through even when she submitted to his powerful presence. The book helped set the scene but it also gave us a deliciously filthy story. If you're like me and love your angst with plenty of power dynamics and drama, this is an absolute must read! ****4.5 Stars!!**** I loved this novella and I am very eager for book one in this series! This was a great introduction into the Filthy Rich world our heroes will all come from! I can’t wait to find out about all of the secrets these men hold! Add on some blazing hot sex, and we have a series that will be hard to put down! As for this book, I was hooked from the first chapter! My only complaint was that it didn’t last long enough!

Today it may be Yale, but one day they would control the world. Men wanted to be them and women wanted to be owned by them. Is it any wonder that they believed they could have anything and anyone they wanted? Juliette didn't stand a chance against Nathaniel. Whether it was through Juliette’s memories of their ferocious debates or the present tension-filled circumstances, the inevitability of these two had me all tingly. The disparity between the characters, such as wealth, social status and background, only served to make their union that much sweeter. It seems that no matter the sub-genre, R. Scarlett is an accomplished master of words. She won my devotion with her paranormal Blackest Gold world series and this foray into the contemporary romance scene was nothing short of a success. I only wish this story was longer. Rebecca, you are not allowed to write standalone novellas anymore. I need more of your words and I would have loved to get more of Juliette and Nathaniel’s story. Perfect introduction to the American Gods series. Juliette and Nathaniel’s story is a hot and tension filled enemies to lovers. This story is quick, but it still packs a powerful punch. It's not that often that I give novella's five stars. However, this book was really good. I could have read about this couple hundreds of more pages. Very well done story which leaves a reader excited for the other books in the series. This is a standalone as this is one of the "Gods" romance story. It wasn't overdone in that it didn't contain too much sex, or too mean of a hero, or drama that leaves you exhausted. This one is just right! It's not that often that I give novella's five stars. Theirs plenty of background on of both MC so I felt why they already had the connection even if they didn’t lol! Did I want more of these two? Heck yea! What she didn't know is that the Club belongs to Nathaniel’s mother. Now she has to stay under the same roof with her biggest competitor at school and she has to obey him if she doesn't want everyone to know back at school that she is poor and desperate. Juliette knows that Nathaniel and his friends, i.e. the American Gods will not leave her alone. They are rich, important, good-looking but mostly they are dangerous. Maybe they have already murdered someone. Or maybe it was an accident. Gabe Easton, most probably the next president of USA James Rhodes, most probably the next law advisor of the next president of USA Arsen Vasiliev, most probably the next main financial supporter of the next president of USA Still very young, but already the most eligible bachelors. Nathaniel feels that he got his Christmas present earlier this year. Finally, Juliette has fallen into his clutches “Until the end of summer, you’re mine,” he muttered and his head dipped, but his lips lingered on mine. “Swear it to me, Juliette.” I swallowed thickly, my lips bumping against his own. “I swear.” “Swear what, Juliette? I want to hear you say it.” Asshole. “I swear I’m yours until the end of summer.” And then like a savage, he took my mouth in a bruising kiss. So, this is the series of the American Gods and we will have a book for each one of them. This is Nathaniel’s book and definitely it could and should have been longer. I could have read 500 more pages about Nathaniel and Juliette’ love story without getting bored. It's been a delight seeing these two falling in love. The book has many components that can grab your attention: ☆Enemies to lovers story☆ ☆Blackmailing☆ ☆Lies and secrets☆ ☆Strong friendships☆ ☆Betrayals☆ ☆Power☆ ☆Jealousy☆ ☆Bribery☆ ☆Passion and love☆....and of course ☆History in the making☆ Totally lickable book cover. Storyline right up my alley. Strongly recommended!

"He was already inside me. Consuming me. Burning me. He had been for years and now I was laid out in front of him to feast on." When Juliette Monroe reports for her summer job as a maid at the Hawthorne estate, she is shocked to discover her nemesis, Nathaniel Radcliffe, is one of the guests. In fact, he is not just "any guest" but his family owns the estate. Juliette has done everything in her power to lead her friends at Yale to believe that she is spending her summer in France. Instead of living the life of luxury like her cohorts she is, in fact, desperate to keep her tuition bill paid and must work to earn her own way. Nathaniel, who had always been attracted to Juliette, uses her secret to his benefit. In order to keep her secret safe, she must agree to a secret summer affair with Nathaniel. "Would you fight me the whole way if we fucked? Even when I'm deep inside of your pussy, owning, possessing you?" Told in dual POV, Filthy Gods is a fast-paced novella with forbidden romance, passion, and a staggering amount of alpha male energy! The intensity of the read is extreme as Nathaniel and Juliette's chemistry is off the charts. With the added conflict of having to hide from the other guests and their friends and family, the threat of getting caught is always looming. The secondary characters enhance the story greatly as it is clear the GODS are loyal to each other and the ones they love. Overall, I highly recommend Filthy Gods to anyone who enjoys a quick and steamy forbidden romance. If this introductory novella is only a taste of what is to come, call me famished and ready for more! *This was a BR with my girl SUEBEE! *ARC graciously provided in exchange for an honest review! They are the future of this young generation and they tend to own it. Nathaniel Radcliffe is one of the four mentioned "Gods" and he had his eyes set on Juliette Monroe , a girl who is anything BUT rich, privliged or spoiled, she 's the most honest, hard-working, smart, witty and passionate young woman who wants to succeed in this world. She wants to have the security and power in knowledge and she regrets nothing...BUT her poverty. And even that she owns. Her nemesis, her Yale colleage and adversary in Law debate classess, Nathan, the "God" that happens to find himslef right in her path, as she's working for the summer before their last year starts...and there's a horrid posibility he could uncover her secret, that she's not one of the rich kids, that she's there on the schoolarship and her image would be shaken and looked upon as the poor and unworthy...BUT for Nathan this is a once in a lifetime chance...and he makes her a deal He'll keep her secret and in exchange they will get rid of each other distracting pent up tension during the summer... Gods fell in love with mortal and demolished them piece-by-piece as if that is so simple as it sounds... I loved R Scarlett when she wrote paranormal/fantasy genre, and she just proved that she can venture in contemporary romance anytime, I'll be the first one to jump in... Hands down, she is one of the rare authors in my humble opinion who can effortlessly write the captivating, pent up tension, from the slow build up towards the fireworks and she owns me every time... Even though, this storyline is somewhat closer to the "sweeter and heart-warming" tone, I effin loved it, loved the before mention tension and passion that just overtook every atom in my heightened sense whirlpool. I really can't wait to read more about these Gods... So, bravo! ***ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review***

Though the setup—a rich boy and a poor girl—is one we’ve seen before, Ms. Scarlett does a really nice job of creating a distinctly different, more edgy and erotic, feel to Nathaniel and Juliette’s story. Nathaniel and Juliette could not be more different given their social and financial status, yet they are also very similar when it comes to achieving their goals. Their determination to build a future for themselves and one-up the other is nothing short of deliciously tense as they develop feelings for each other in the process. I thought I knew him, how he enraged me and then he brought out another, hidden emotion. Lust. Want. Hope. The romance of course moves forward quickly given the shorter page length, however the relationship still has a nice complexity, and is ensconced in angst as their affair is threatened not only by outside influences but also time running out as they set one-time only rules for themselves. “I’m a greedy, overachieving bastard, Juliette. I examined the risks and you’re worth the fall.” Filthy Gods concludes perfectly, things wrapped up neatly for our couple, yet leaving us with bated breath for the next installment as we look forward to the next American God to take centre stage. ~ARC received in exchange for an honest review~ Posted: May 13, 2018

This book ‘Filthy Gods’ did NOT disappoint in any way! “I am also aware of the tension between us,” he whispered, tilting his head to the side as he scanned my reddening features. “It’s destructive, to say the least. It affects my focus because you’re very, very distracting. And I don’t do distractions, sweetheart.” It was so angsty and fun filled. With the whole summer vibe, and all these hot, notorious rich guys. Nathaniel Radcliffe defiently stole my heart. He was way more than he let onto be, and throughout the book you really get to delve into his mind by his actions and words. I adored how smart he was, and how he was always thinking before his actions. It showed what a very calm and collected person he was. "Nathaniel’s jaw flexed as he wiped off blood from his cut cheek with the back of his hand. He stared at it for a beat, then laughed deeply, but the sound held no joy. It was the kind of laugh that promised retaliation." "He wanted to destroy me, he wanted me to fall and cave-like savages were seizing an empire." Juliette was lovely as well. She was really strong and knew herself very well. She never had any doubts within. I loved following in her heard, and how she interacted with Nathaniel. "Gods fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece." The plot and pacing of the story was perfect. It didn’t feel at all like a novella, enough events had occurred. There was no insta love because you did get to see and hear about them before, and when they met. R. Scarlett's writing was amazing, it flowed beautifully, and was captivating at the same time. There was a perfect balance of emotion and entertainment. The part with the senator I was like OMG NO and then there was Gabe and Nathaniel and I was like YES THANK GOD "His mouth took mine in a bruising kiss before I could shout and I hated how he knew my body, how he knew my mind." Lastly I wanted to talk about the American Gods themselves. AHHHHH I’m so excited for the rest of the series, and to read each boys book! From the way they were described, I’m going to have to say I’m MOST excited for Arsen! I loved the little dosage we got of Gabe and we defiantly got to see first hand how crazy James’s book is going to be. A quick note, I don’t know if I was the only one but, the author used the word ‘blunt’ about half the time they had sex and it just kinda got repetitive. Eveytime I saw it after the first two times I was like omg that word again, and it detached me from the story for a few seconds. Maybe it was just me, and because it is such a blunt word haha. BUT, other than that I loved the story and I am so pumped to read her other series and books! Detailed Ratings Hero: 5 Heroine: 4.5 Plot: 4.5 Angst: 4.5 Steam level: 4.5

Decadent, Exciting and Sexy as hell! What a fantastic introduction into this sinfully sexy world of privilege and wealth. I can't wait to learn more about these Gods among mere mortals. I love it when new-to-me authors impress! And that’s exactly what R. Scarlett has done. This sexy enemies to lovers novella is a fantastic start of something great. The chemistry between the main characters is off the charts. The character and relationship development is well done, especially for a book this lengt Decadent, Exciting and Sexy as hell! The character and relationship development is well done, especially for a book this length. This novella certainly packs a punch! I read it in one sitting, so if you're looking for a quick solid read, grab this one today! The gods are larger than life, but I absolutely loved seeing one of them brought to his knees by a mere mortal. 😉 All in all, a very satisfying read! Recommended.
