Who knew you could make a Margarita and use chickpeas? Well, the liquid from the can in chickpeas. But still. I love chickpeas. I eat them all the time in my house. Heck, I even given them to my dog as dog treats and she goes bonkers for them. So I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. It includes a number of chapters with fun names like 'Easy Like Tuesday Evening' but really covering everything from breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and even libations. It includes a number of chapters with fun names like 'Easy Like Tuesday Evening' but really covering everything from breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and even libations. Some recipes use chickpeas, or chickpea flour, and some just use the liquid in the can of chickpeas, called aquafaba. I find it very interesting using chickpeas in a dessert. I want to try it but I know my husband will not eat it. He's a silly man. My neighbor once brought over vegan black bean brownies for me. Yup, used black beans in them. But I was away and husband refused to eat them because it contained black beans. The same man who always requests black beans when we have mexican. OK....back to the book. I gotta knock it a bit for it's pad thai recipe. Oh, a big pet peeve of mine in cookbooks. Please don't call it pad thai if it's just a noodle dish with peanuts. Pad thai doesn't have mayo in it or peanut butter. Now, on to making the tofu tacos with a chickpea batter, or gnocchi with chikpeas, kale and squash, or chickpea pozole, or my plan for after the holiday....chickpea pot pies. Yup, this one is a keeper and highly suggested for any chickpea lovers out there.

Being a chick pea fan, I had to look through this book. I found the recipes to be pretty easy, and most of the ingredients are pretty easily found at my grocery store. I cooked a few of the recipes, and they turned out well, so I was happy. I'll be trying more of the recipes once I get this book. Being a chick pea fan, I had to look through this book. So Much More Than the Title and Intro Describe I can’t wait to start cooking all of the many recipes I’ve seen. This is the real deal for real meals that are vegan but not contrived to fit from mainstream standards. I can’t wait to make fresh chickpea tofu instead of eating factory food. Even a recipe for homemade chickpea sausage and hotdogs; instead of vegan mystery meat substitutes. A good concept, but many recipes are more work than I’m ready to attempt at this time. Surprising what one little bean can do.
