Books like these are either really good or complete crap, so I generally don't read them, but I'm teaching a program on spiritual self-defense in December and am picking up a small stack for research. This was actually a good one. It comes from the Christian tradition and there are lots of scriptures, so that should be your thing if you pick this up. This was actually a good one. It comes from the Christian tradition and there are lots of scriptures, so that should be your thing if you pick this up. I especially appreciated how there's a focus on training the mind and habits to defend and fight back when there's spiritual interference with who a person wants to be. It's not throwing everything on God but a partnership that squarely puts on your shoulders what you can do which it holds you responsible for. It's real about layers of spiritual battle from exhaustion from bombardment of the world to crumbling relationships when the person you're in relationship with clearly isn't themself, to things we do that seem justifiable but have consequences, to when there's clear open attack from a non-corporeal being. There's lots of useful stuff for all those scenarios here.

Brilliant This not a story book. This is a book you take your time to read. It took me well over a year to do so. This is because the spiritual truth in each chapter needs to be absorbed, savored and put into practice. But this is also a book I shall return to often.
