Emphasizing that the world of intuition, energy, mysticism and ancient knowledge is awakening on a grand scale, Heidi Light, a family counselor and certified hypnotherapist, explains that we are in desperate need of guidance and standards so that we can approach these practices from a healthy and respectful place. Drawing from her more than forty years as a medical intuitive, empath, and energy tracker–as well as twenty years as a counselor in private, clinical, and institutional settings–Light offers practical, simple solutions to the alarming lack of boundaries in the fields of intuition and energy medicine. From massage therapists who just throw in a little extra energy work, to psychics who read your sister instead of you, to Reiki practitioners who tell you to take off your clothes, Light shares case studies and vignettes of ethical boundaries mistakenly being crossed. This book explains the traditional Psychological Model of Ethics, that counselors and psychologists are taught, and outlines an Energetic Ethics Model, comprised of six pillars of practice, that creates a framework for moving through the process of accessing intuitive information and working with energy–including channeling, intuitive and psychic readings, energy tracking, astral travel and journeying, mediumship, angels, past lives, and more.

Thank you for writing this book. At long last, an inspiring book that addresses ethics in intuition and energy medicine fields and provides guidelines and solutions. Light shares her wisdom with us and calls us to a higher practice. This is a must-read for Reiki teachers, energy practitioners, intuitives, students and clients alike.

This book is beautifully written filled with compassion and wisdom. I couldn't put the book down. A dry subject was brought to life. A dry subject was brought to life. Heidi Light clearly, carefully and precisely informs and educates about the misunderstood topic of boundaries in energy work most commonly known as "energy medicine" as well as covers practical directives for those working in the channelling and intuitive professions. For clients of energy medicine and those new to the practice this book is a must have. For energy practitioners , it will bring clarity and understanding and give very specific guidelines that should be adhered to when working with clients. For those of us who want to entertain the idea of astral travel or explore other dimensions of reality and also for those who find themselves in altered states of consciousness, this book will help you stay balanced, grounded and connected to mother earth while you navigate in other realms. Without ethical and physical boundaries on this planet, we would be living in a state of chaos and horror. We have stop signs, red and green lights for a reason. We need tangible rules to follow that keep us sane and safe. And according to Heidi Light when practitioners are working in what for most of us is the "unseen world" they must pay very strict attention to respectful guidelines not only for their clients but also for themselves. In this book Light very clearly and logically outlines a practical solution and gives a working template that can be easily followed. Until now there has not been a book of this ilk written on this subject. Heidi Light's book is setting a new precedent in energy medicine and anyone who is a healer should seriously consider the wisdom of this wise woman. I believe we are all travellers on a healing path and therefore we are all healers and we all need to read this book. You won't regret it. It is a must have for your reference library.

As an energy worker myself I would have had no idea I was crossing lines, including privacy lines unless I had read this book. I just want to help people! (as is the case for most of us in these practices) But what I didn't know is that even with the best of intentions, a lot of damage can be done. The information just hasn't been out there for us. There hasn't been anyone out there for me to turn to for advice and assistance. Most of us have just been figuring it out along the way. The problem is, as more and more of us get more intuitive than ever, the consequences are becoming greater than ever. Thank God this book came along! The world needs it. I need it! I refer to it often. I want all of my clients and all my colleagues to own one. I even have my preteen and teenage children reading it. God knows this is an emerging world for them too! Obviously, I highly recommend this book. :D

An amazing book that is an absolute must for those working in the field of energy medicine. Privacy laws are of utmost importance, both to protect the client as well as the provider. Topics covered include confidentiality, supervision, objectivity, informed consent, scope of practice, charging of fees, delivery of service, record keeping, and so much more. I am very familiar with confidentiality in the field of western medicine (not energy medicine); and was somewhat shocked and horrified at some of the scenarios the author described. There is a desperate need for standards and guidance in the energy medicine field! Ethical boundaries can easily be mistakenly crossed by uneducated people working in this field. I certainly hope that this book will open the door to rules and standards being set in place in the very near future. Thank you so much to North Atlantic Books and the Goodreads Program for providing me with a copy of this very interesting, eye-opening read.

Having read other books on the subject, I can say this book takes a different and more concrete in some ways, approach to energy work and ethics that don't generally come up in many other texts. It was a good read, gave me plenty to think about with my own personal knowledge and practice, though I don't practice Reiki. It's a good book to read and study as an energy worker or just as someone interested in it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid look into the importance of ethics a Having read other books on the subject, I can say this book takes a different and more concrete in some ways, approach to energy work and ethics that don't generally come up in many other texts. This book is absolutely critical for anyone learning, practicing, paying for or curious about energy and intuitive work. A simple set of ethical guidelines is combined with powerful examples and clear explanation of just about every basic concept in energy medicine.
