This is a delightful, fairy-tale-like story. The characters are enjoyable and three dimensional, the locations are clearly visible, and just when you think the plot is totally predictable, things change. Ms Robertson is an excellent writer - I've thoroughly enjoyed everything of hers that I've read and I will continue to buy and read her books. I have only one nit to pick and it's really a rather small one. When she writes a sex scene, Ms Robertson's roots as a fan fiction writer are quite visibl This is a delightful, fairy-tale-like story. This is not a particularly good thing, but it's not terrible either, it's just that sex scenes in fan fiction tend to overuse particular words and turns of phrase (having both read and written plenty of fan fiction myself, I recognize the "tells") and yet again in Dark Winter's Night, those overused or unnecessary words and phrases show up.

Lord Taavin's proposal given through Erland seems too good to be true. The gold offered would lift their family out of poverty and create dowries for her two sisters. Katryanna suspects that the lord might be an elf, but she wants to help her family. Taavin needs Katryanna to trust and love him. I received a free copy of this book from the eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a charming mix of fairy tales. The story contains romance and adventure. I really enjoyed this novella! The characters were interesting and the descriptions throughout were quite rich. The author did a very good job of describing the setting and context for all of the fantasy components, so it was very easy to follow along the intended storyline. Thanks! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

Love these Viking/Elf stories!! The combination of Viking mythology, characters, Elf and human characters combine for a fun story. I dropped a star for the explicit sex scenes, not my idea of good reading.
