She’s working at a place her father owns to earn her spot there. She and her father are estranged, but she’s living with him and working for him for reasons bigger than herself. She’s expecting to just survive this year of working for her dad, but with Sean and his group of friends, everything changes. I love books that make me think, make me feel, and keep me guessing. This one did all three. I’m so glad I had no idea what this was about. I’m glad I went in blind and was surprised with each twist and turn. No one crafts a story quite like Kate Stewart, and I was blown away by this one. It was on my mind for days. I couldn’t stop thinking about what happened, what’s happening, and what will happen next. I have so many theories! This story is unique, it’s twisty, and it’s insanely sexy. After finishing book one, all I have to say is to buckle up, ya’ll. You’re in for a ride! I’m so glad these books are releasing so close together because you’re not going to want to wait long for the next one! If you’re looking for an epic romantic suspense, pick up Flock! At this point, I just want to make peace with who I am, no matter what ending I get.

But for those who hate surprises and all the secrecy surrounding this book, read part 2 on your own risk. I. SPOILER FREE REVIEW Can we take a second to admire the gorgeous cover. Look at that raven. The majesty. The Grace. Those wings tho .. ngl I'm jealous. Flock is told from the almost 19-year old Cecelia Horner perspective. She decides to work at her estranged father's company for a year to save money to help her mother. During orientation day, Cecelia meets Sean, her supervisor at the plant. Sean and Cecelia instantly click upon meeting and start to hang out more. Cecelia, before coming to Triple Fall, was always 'the good girl'. She had good grades, took care of her mother and was never in any way a rebel. Upon meeting Sean and his group of friend, Cecelia goes on journey of self-discovery and winds up in a twisted secrecy. Flock has a good reading flow, it's pretty easy to get through and I didn't find myself bored. The steam level in here is pretty high. My problem is that I didn't really connect with either of the main characters. I neither love nor hate them, my feeling towards them is indifference. Towards the end of the book, I started to get a bit annoyed at all the vague stuff Sean was saying. Stop talking in riddles.. it was very confusing to say the least. I'm still not really sure what I just read, cause the books leaves you with so many question. Everything about the characters and what they say is annoyingly cryptic. That cliffhanger at the end tho hmm. Luckily Exodus released a week after Flock, therefore we don't have to wait long for answers. What you can expect: Ravenhood meets Robin Hood *** II. SPOILERS If you continue reading this, PLEASE DON'T SPOIL IT FOR OTHER READERS AND PUT SPOILER TAGS. I think that should be obvious, but just wanted to say it again. I'm giving these spoilers, not because I want to ruin the book or anything, but because I've seen several people asking for it. I don't really see any harm saying what it is, cause it's not even that special or outrageous. It's shitty to make such a secret out of it, expecting people to spend their money on something they may not like to read otherwise. * * * (view spoiler)[I'm giving you one more chance to look away. (hide spoiler)] * * * (view spoiler)[It's MFM. Cecelia is in a polygamous relationship with Sean and Dominic. Dominic is Sean's flatmate and Cecelia met him when Sean brought her to one of their houseparties. While Sean and Cecelia's relationship start out pretty early in the book, Dominic & Cecelia need some time to get warm with each other. During the time period when Cecelia/Sean are a thing, it is stated that Dominic has not sleep with other women since meeting Cecelia at the party. So the book is safe in that aspect. Update: I said it's MFM, because after my definition of it, it means that the girl has sexual intercourse with both males, while the guys don't have sex with each other. Which is the case here with Cecelia, Sean and Dominic. MMF is when all 3 have relationships with each other. For the first half of this book Cecelia is only in a relationship with Sean so it's MF, but then in the second half it turns into a poly relationship with Domenic which was also said in the book. Sorry that I wasn't more clear about it. It didn't start out as MFM but that what it turns to be. (hide spoiler)]

'FLOCK' is the first full length romance book in Kate Stewart's 'The Ravenhood' duet. An unconventional twisted suspenseful love story. Spoken in nineteen year old Cecelia's POV. I'm not going to write up this review how I normally would only because you really need to go into this one blind, because this book deserves it! Like fight club, what you see, what you hear, you do not tell anyone!! I have no idea what I just read, but what I did read I LOVED!! Everything about this book was beyond unique, it pulled me in so effortlessly, the secrets, the suspense, the boys of summer, the sexual tension and encounters had me hooked from the get go. Cecelia is required to live with her estranged father who she hadn't seen since she was much younger, she'll also be working at his electronics plant for a year which one day she will inherit along with a lump sum, allowing her to learn the ropes to earn her place within his empire and to help out her mother. Cecelia is the good girl who has good grades, who loves and takes care of her mother to ensure she's happy. An introvert who is happy to be a wallflower who always plays it safe. But this summer she's going to reinvent herself. She's going to be the YES girl. She has no expectations, work for a year then leave for college, but nothing prepared her for twenty five year old Sean who she met the first day of orientation, he invited her back for a party at this place to meet his brotherhood of friends. They pull her into their fold, secrecy shrouds them all like a cloak. The untouchables, each man has a tattoo of a raven, what does it mean? Who are these men? Are they friend or foe? Who can she trust? These men I've been hanging with are exactly the type that Mom warns you away from and that Dad is supposed to greet at the front door with a shotgun in hand. So many questions, so many twists and turns. Fast cars, parties, drugs and girls. This book had my brain working on overdrive, trying to piece the puzzle together, the suspense killing me as I devoured this in record time.

Every time I thought I knew where this story was heading, I was blindsided. It's not often that a book is completely enthralling. "Freaks hide in plain sight, baby. You’re living proof." Cecelia has relocated to Triple Falls for the next year of her life. With parents that are estranged, she finds herself now living with a father who is an enigma. Out of her element, she is surprised to instantly befriend Sean, a man as gorgeous as he is mysterious. What she never imagined, is how momentous this would be. He winks. "It’s all about the company we keep." "Don’t credit me for being the fun one. We both know I’m not. I’m a ‘stay-in-the-lines’ kind of girl and you’re, well, you’re the red crayon." Introduced into a world of a brotherhood that she nor us readers understand, Cecelia quickly finds herself involved with Sean and his friends. With this new association, she begins to embrace a different kind of living. One without limitations. "Step outside that brainwashing for a few seconds and be honest with yourself. That’s all I’m asking. Just be truthful. In your heart of hearts, if you didn’t have to choose, would you?" Frankly it's difficult to explain myself without spoiling the story. Not to mention, that as a reader, you never know how the heck this saga will unravel. And that is thrilling. As this is the first book in the Ravenhood duet, I need to truly hold on to my panties for the finale. But what I will say, is that 3 are better than 2. Hot damn! 🔥

My biggest fear is to be in all-consuming love. Shut. The. Front. Door. TWICE. I am totally and completely ruined. Dead. DEAD I tells ya. How do I even go on living after this book? HOW? I've been sitting in my room, staring blankly at the wall for the past 3 hours, just trying to figure out how to go on with my life. And I've come to the conclusion that it's simply impossible. Until I have book two in my hands, the only existence is my currently over caffeinated and slightly manic state of OHMYGODWHATDIDIJUSTREAD!!!! The only love I’ve ever known or craved is the kind that keeps me sick, sick with longing, sick with lust, sick with need, sick with grief. The distorted kind that leaves scars and jaded hearts. I don't know about you, but my love affair with Kate Stewart actually began with her books under her pen name. All I remember is cracking open Excess and falling head over ovaries for this woman's words. Since then, I've been greedily devouring each of her releases without even bothering to read the blurb. This one being no exception. And if there's one piece of advice I can give you, is that you do the same thing. Go in absolutely blind. Trust me on this and thank me later. But back to my point and where I was going with this. When I learned that Angelica Chase was none other than Kate Stewart, it was like two worlds colliding for me. Angelica wrote twisty and erotic romances and Kate Stewart wrote unforgettable stories. So where am I going with this? Well, Flock happened to be the most amazing culmination of Kate and Angelica that I couldn't even imagine in my dreams. This book was....how do I even describe this to you. First of all, that blurb is vague AF. And as much as I want to give you more, I won't. because this isn't a story you read. It's one you experience. And it's one you need to experience to its full potency. It was a twisty and erotic masterpiece that sucks you in and doesn't let you go. It's a thrill ride of emotion and frustration as you grasp at straws to try to make sense of it all, only to fall victim to the author's evil genius mind and realize you no longer know up from down and left from right. All I know is I binged. BINGED y'all. I stayed up all night reading and while I can barely function this morning, I'm not even a little sorry because it was all worth it. Well. Maybe not my manic screaming when I got to the end and woke up my husband who preceded to look at me like I just lost my ever loving mind at 4 am. And you know what? He's not wrong. Because I definitely did. And I won't be sane until I get my answers in book two. And while it's only a few days away, the wait for Exodus is the worst sort of torture. So let me end my "review" (if you can even call it that) with this: if this book is not on your radar (you've been living under a rock), it NEEDS to be. If you're not sure about reading it, dive in! If you read ANY book this year, make it this one. If you want a unique, captivating, and utterly unforgettable read, GET. THIS. BOOK. That is all. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to rock myself in a corner somewhere (preferably with booze) in my wait for Exodus. And in case you're wondering, no, I am most definitely NOT OKAY. I just finished this book right now and I am not quite sure how I’m feeling about^. What I will say is that I was a bit disappointed in the pacing of the book. It was very slow for the whole book... having said that.. I was still eager to keep reading to find any answers that I can. I ended up overthinking everything I was reading, and because of that I kept interested. As for the ending, I am honestly confused!! Lol! So of course I now need to dive into the next one right away! I was enamored with these amazing and layered characters and impressed with the premise of the story. Stewart left me guessing and questioning while I fell deeper down the rabbit hole. It’s twisted and so damn addictive. Some questions were answered and agendas revealed. Stewart sets up the reader for an epic conclusion with Flock. She’s laid the perfect foundation for the sequel and I seriously can’t wait to see what she has in store. It’s been awhile since Stewart ventured out in this genre and I’m so happy she did. 3.75 STARS! This cannot and will not end well. Secrets, lies, and ménage - oh my . . . book 2 here I come! So there's no doubt that Ms. Stewart is a great writer, and I love how she's willing to take risks with some of her books - I'm looking at you, Method. And that's where Flock fits in too: a risk. For that alone, it's worth the read! First, I have to give a big thank you to LEILA for reading this one with me and putting up with my snail's pace. 🥰🥰 Plot in a nutshell: Not much to say 3.75 STARS! 🥰🥰 Plot in a nutshell: Not much to say here since I don't give spoilers. [Except MFM, something that shouldn't be dropped on an unsuspecting reader.] But I will give you the setup for the story . . . In order to receive her inheritance (including her college fund) from her estranged father, Cecelia must first jump through some hoops, including living in the small town where one of his factories is located, and working there for a year. On her first day of work, she meets Sean and starts hanging out with him and his friends, realizing: It dawns on me now, here amongst strangers, I can be anyone. She decides to reinvent herself and drop her wallflower persona to live a little. But Sean (and his friends, including Dominic) aren't your average guys. "I don't do things the way most people do when it comes to any aspect of life. I follow my gut, my instincts on everything, and answer to very few." They're older, wiser and extremely secretive. With him I feel lucky, like I won some sort of man lottery. And in a way, that makes me fearful. And the story centers around Cecelia's fear. This was an odd read for me. It wasn't until 40% that I was able to definitively say I wasn't going to DNF. Every word was beyond cryptic and it was irritating as fuck, lol. Also irritating was Sean and Dominic's 'preaching' of their world view --> not only were they above materialism, but they were seemingly above basic human emotion as well. 🙄 "I belong to myself, Cecelia, at all times." But I liked Cecelia and Sean together. I believed in them. What felt forced to me was Cecelia and Dominic. The author didn't give the reader enough to go on, imo. I didn't think their physical attraction would have overcome just how much of an ass he was. "That's not a stupid question." "It is if you find love irrelevant." "Why is love irrelevant?" "Because it doesn't interest me." I was able to figure out a piece of the puzzle at 49%, but I think to keep the reader more engaged there should have been more bread crumbs along the way. I did like that there was a major injection of emotion in the last 20% or so. The story needed it. Was the ending a surprise? Ummm . . . yes and no. A few things were explained, things that seemed to be plot holes were filled in. But the story was by no means air tight. I'm still frowning at some of it. But there's a whole other book to go ==> I'm looking forward to it!

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. I don't even know how to process what I just read. OH MY GOD. I. AM. A. FREAKING. MESS. I don't even know how to write this review without giving anything away (I’ll try though!). First of all, you Kate Stewart you! I demand you give us Exodus RIGHT THIS SECOND lady! I can't even after that cliffhanger. I need to know everything! Simply put, Flock was gripping, unconventional, suspenseful and scorching hot and it sure has left me at the edge of my seat and waiting for more. Flock is the first installment of Kate's new duet called The Ravenhood and it tells the story of young Cecilia Horner. The blurb of this book is purposefully undefined and trust me, I think it’s better if you go blind on this one. To explain it just a bit, this is about how Cecilia’s life changes after leaving her usual life behind for a year when she starts living in Triple Falls with her very-absent father. She works for him in his company and there she starts hearing about the mysterious Ravenhood. Things are about to get crazy, suspicious, steamy and emotional. My greatest hope is to be in all-consuming love. My biggest fear is to be in all-consuming love. I don’t know how Kate does it. I just know that whatever she writes I read. And I read anything she works on because I love her words and her freaking talented mind. She is such a versatile author and you can get a hilarious romcom from her or a dramatic contemporary romance or, in this case, a mind-blowing romantic suspense. I have to say, I was freaking anxious about reading Flock because the blurb is vague AF. I always like to know a bit what I am getting myself into and I didn’t know what I would encounter. I was thoroughly surprised, that is for sure! “What if someone gets hurt?” “Chance we have to take.” “Why do I have a feeling that someone will be me?” I loved these characters, I love how Kate developed their personalities, I loved the mystery around everything and the connection and burning chemistry between the protagonists. As you can see, I am not mentioning names or anything because I don’t want to spoil anything to anyone. I do have to say, I am not a massive fan of the kind of relationship developed in Flock but I was so into the story that I quite enjoyed it by the end. I was hooked, especially in the second half of the novel and I literally cannot wait to read Exodus because I NEED IT. Mother of cliffhangers, I need the conclusion of The Ravenhood right now! I let that devil rule me for one summer, and it was just as reckless with my well-being. Therefore, I am rating Flock with 4 STARS because, even though I am not a huge fan of this kind of romances, I have to say I loved this story and these characters. I was addicted from start to finish because, as always, Kate’s writing is just outstanding and gripping and her characters are complex and impossible not to love. I cannot wait to read Exodus and find out the whole truth about the Ravenhood and how Cecilia ends up. If you are a fan of Kate’s and you love romantic suspense, you have to check this one out! I have always been a huge fan of this author and when I saw that she was coming out with a mysterious duet, I was on this faster than a dollar bill on the stripper pole stage!! I had this idea of what the story was going to about and I was so ready for it because I KNEW that once everything was laid out, it was going to be all consuming with some dark crazy twists and I was ready. Boy was I wrong and I was not expecting this!! Eighteen year old Cecelia has never had it easy in life. On a mission to have something better for her future, Cecelia has now moved to a new town to live with her estranged father for a year while working at his company. Upon her arrival, she soon meets someone who is going to change the way she looks at everything in life with more passion and endless possibilities. I was expecting this story to go one way and in turn I got something completely different. These characters were complex, mysterious, lawless in their own right, and I liked that they never pretended to be any different. I know that this review is extremely vague in a sense but for a story like this, there is no other way. With that being said, I have a lot of theories that are going through my head right now and they are not ok!!! I feel like I need to be sedated in order to have rational thoughts come back to me. who??? How?? where do we go from here???and lets not forget the big one: what [email protected]$#* is going to happen now??! Flock will keep you guessing up until the very end and even after that, you’ll still wonder.

There was so much mystery surrounding this wildly wicked plot. The story was very intricate with lots of twist and turns. It constantly kept me on my toes with thoughts and questions. And I can’t forget to mention how sinfully sexy this story became and I loved every minute of it. Cecelia Horner is 18 and has come to live with her estranged father. She meets Sean and her whole world undergoes a complete transformation. She meets the boys, who all have the same raven tattoo, where fast cars and meetups become part of her world. But there are secrets........major secrets that will drive Cecelia to question everything and everybody. The emotions and feels that I experienced while reading were off the charts. Trying to understand the complexities of the secret while at the same time experiencing the sexual arousal of the characters was erotic in nature as well as suspenseful and intriguing. This story is not like any that I have read. The author hit it our of the park for me in the feels, the mystery and the sensuality of this story. I know I haven’t said much about the plot but you must go in with very little information. The discovery of reading and organically taking in each chapter by chapter will have you hooked and captivated. I love that this author is releasing the duet a week apart. I think that this story will have me thinking and thinking until I get the second book, Exodus, in my greedy little hands. *advanced copy graciously provided in exchange for an honest review*

Nothing is cut and dry. So many cryptic hints will be dropped. There is a plan for which ground work has been laid. I cannot wait to find out where the author takes us. WORD OF THE DAY: Unconventional This is the kind of book that you need to go in blind - highly recommended. This is a book about discovery and you can't discover if you know anything. This is a SPOILER FREE review. Just know this is my favorite book of Kate Stewart's to date....and that's saying something. Here’s the scenario: You’re sitting on the couch, probably laughing at me because I’m pacing in front of you, trying to calm down enough to not scream at you to READ THIS BOOK. Ok? That’s how this is gonna go. I'll probably be scatterbrained and shooting from the hip because my mind is being pulled in so many different directions but SO MUCH happened but you can't discuss anything because it can potentially spoil things. So sooo good. With Flock, Stewart provided me a dose of clarity and confusion mixed with absolute confidence in a story I couldn't put down. To be able to spin a story like this...I can't even imagine where one's mind goes while writing things like this. Shrouded in mystery, with just enough stringing along that I couldn't look away. I felt like the morsels of information were the tastiest when accompanied with questions - and boy, did I have a ton of those!! I absolutely loved this journey I was on, all the while being confused AF discovering a whole new world right with Cecilia. "Maybe for now, I should just listen to the voice of reason in my head, instead of the addict in my heart." By 8% in, I was hooked. Meeting Cecelia and her guys of summer was an adrenaline rush, and it felt as if I were in her shoes - her spot. I loved how she was written. Bad ass with a side of insecurity and innocence - but she had a moral side to her that I could very much appreciate. Not to mention a mouth that made me smile!! That girl had sass!! I love that Cecelia fought her 'moral' side. I love that there was a mental block for her - one that she personally had to scale. There was a wave of critical thinking that encompassed this entire story, almost a shift from the ‘norm’ that one would automatically fall in step with. This was pivotal to the book, and I for one cannot wait to read the second book to see how it all plays out. Absolutely fantastic....I can't stop thinking about it. I loved meeting the guys of Ravenhood. All of them. They all had very different personalities, and the lessons learned and the discussions had were all very insightful and had me nodding my head in agreement many times. I craved time with them and watching them all interact with not only each other, but with Cecelia as well, had me hungry for more in all aspects - and to top it off, it was all so very hot. No lie. There was so much mystery and so many secrets that I was confused - not gonna lie, but it all fell into place and left me with some aha! moments. "I'm a psychiatrist's wet dream." I found myself constantly looking to see how much time I had left in the book, because I didn’t want it to end. I was entranced the entire time I was reading and wanted nothing more than to sit here all day and get caught up in this world of intrigue and confusion that was coming to life all around me, but I am so glad I got to explore it right alongside to her. Confused as she was, I was too. As enamored as she was, I was too. As angry and heartbroken as she was, I was too. I was right there with her. One of the things Stewart afforded me was simply applying a deeper meaning to seemingly inconsequential things, things to think about, actions to watch with a skeptical eye. Her words are always thought provoking with an implied possible meaning, but this time she took it a bit father than I've read from her before. I love that she keeps me looking beyond the norm and into possibility. So fucking good!!!! I held my breath the entire time I read. I looked left and right, underneath clues and over them. She had me guessing and second guessing the whole time. I’m excited to see how the prologue plays into the story because while it did entice, it also caused confusion and curiosities to play out in my mind. All I know is Exodus is definitely a necessary and highly anticipated read!! When your love can handle night and day, light and dark, rainy days and sunny days, broody....and loving? You know your heart has found its landing spot. This book showcased that perfectly. I love, love, love rainy days - this book proved that to me. But those days with sunshine are all the more brighter and sweeter. I just need.. It's all wrapped up in enigma, doused in complexity and the key to deciphering it lies in your willingness to step in the one way street to the Tattooed Club. Once in, there's no way out!! Kate's talent is 💯 unparalleld in wordpower, plotting, narration, angst factor and the sheer force of sentiments. Her prowess in exacting every ounce of emotion from your heart like shylock demanding his pound of flesh, puts her in a bracket of natural born writers. She gives you her golden words but makes you weep for them, and we pay for them happily by the bucketfuls and dessicate our souls. She'd warned us that her latest Duet will be greyish in colour and abrasive in texture, but it still hurts no less when Ravenhood Boys come stomping in my heart like a force of nature. Poor Cecelia Horner, daughter of dreaded and hated Robin Horner lands in Triple falls in Bumfuck, Nowhere to work as his menial intern in suffocating work & home environment. But the danger that is threatening her mere existence comes from outside of these two places. A girl with hard life and hardened heart, she is on the lookout for a chance to change her lifestyle and destiny. What better way to start afresh in a town where she can start with a clean slate! "I’m a wallflower trying to impersonate a mighty oak." She's got guts and chutzpah but it's all a façade. She's scared, a misfit in a hostile environment and is a headless chicken, entangled in a barbed wire web beyond her simple comprehension. Almost instantaneously she gets caught in crosshairs of The Ravenhood boys Tyler, Russell, Jeremy, Peter and in particular, near-perfect Alfred Sean Roberts, who sweeps her off her feet with his impeccable company and single-minded focused attentions. They proceed to have a perfect affair in a perfect summer!! Hiking, kissing, lovemaking, swimming...*lesigh* "If a man seems too good to be true, he usually is a liar." And then there's Jean Dominic King. The French-speaking, silever-eyed, raven-haired, sex on legs wolf!! She's caught between these two alpha males and she's being torn in two, LITERALLY!! "Being in Dominic’s proximity is like a slow-motion view of an explosion of metal on metal. With Sean, I feel safer; but when Dominic is around, I feel that every breath I take is laced with something hazardous. Yet with each inhale, he becomes more intoxicating." This is the foreground love/lust story but it's just the tip of the iceberg and to know the whole truth, I'd have to be either in or out. Cause it's THE SECRET. This secret/twist/mystery threatens to destroy EVERYTHING that's Cecelia knows and sees to be truth in her senses. Of the characters, as much I was heady with want for Dom, Sean just stole my heart with his incredible gut-logic and brutal honesty. His ability to read minds and anticipate human behavior had me agog and agape. The tiny pre-scene in the woods before they go to the lake, was mindblowing in its truthfulness and moral confidence that he portrays. I was floored!! "Sean is one tempting apple in my celibate new garden." As the story gathers momentum, I went through harrowing breakneck street races, intoxicating night outs, secret waterfall rendezvous and best of all- floaties on the lake. Every chapter had me turning the pages faster and faster, my eyes jumped on the words, my mouth dropped in amazement and I had just one expression through the book- WTF KATE!!! It a pulse racing thriller, bound to leave you gasping for more in lust and danger. Over the years she has honed her superpower and is a force to be reckoned with. So, why the three stars, you ask? As much as I love this author's writing, there are stories that don't chime with me. I'd like to reiterate that this is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the author. Flock is one of those stories that I love to hate. - I had some issues with the characters who were in parts a little immature (OK, granted the heroine is barely legal and has daddy issues). - I'm a mood reader - I think we all are and there are genres and tropes we need to be in the right mindset for. This particular one is one of those I don't want to be surprised with and I wish I had known upfront. This is a little critique towards the author because I do think that this should have been mentioned at least in the blurb. I disagree with the majority of reviewers who say to go into this book blind. If you don't want to be caught unawares check out the reviews on Goodreads. Now for the good stuff. As much as I struggled with the characters the building of the suspense that culminated in a strong finish of the first book in this duet was sublime. I really loved the last 20% and Kate Stewart cranked up the angst that it was almost unbearable. What she excels at is keeping her readers on their toes and keeping them guessing and Flock is no different. Despite my misgivings I was highly entertained and captivated by the plot. It left me with so many questions and I think my questions have questions, it's insane. Now I need to know what the cast of this duet is up to next!

4⭐'s It's hard going into a book that has been getting a lot of five stars. There are a lot of expectations but since it's a Kate Stewart book, I wasn't too worried. The prologue was fantastic. There are a lot of expectations but since it's a Kate Stewart book, I wasn't too worried. The prologue was fantastic. I love the poetry that is Kate Stewart's words. However, the rest of the book had me spending too much time trying to figure things out. A lot of that has to do with the men that Cecelia is involved with. Her parents have been apart for a long time and now she has to move back with her father for a year until she can get her inheritance. They've never been close and it's pretty cringey when she always calls him "Sir". She also has to work at his factory for a year. That's when she meets the unconventional Sean. He doesn't follow any kind of norm and questions everything...it's hard to follow at times. Cecelia is about six years younger so she's just starting to find her way and this throws everything out the window. And if I thought Sean was bad, in comes Dominic. He's cold and unemotional and trauma from his past has affected him. As Cecelia gets closer to him, she finds his warmer side and those moments are really sweet. Don't even get me started on the real reason these guys do what they do. The information slowly gets passed down to Cecelia but it's a long, hard and bumpy road. My issue with books like this is that I spend too much time reading into things and trying to figure them out. It takes away some of the joy of reading it. The ending also killed me and I was thinking of all kinds of possibilities...none that came true. And that's the real problem - you can't know what you haven't been told. Bottom line - enjoy the story and be patient. All the questions will be answered in the next book, Exodus.

Well, this is certainly one for the guitly pleasure shelf. I might also need a "frustrating as hell" shelf. All the reviews say you should go in blind but I'll be honest: I've read the entire thing and I still don't know the half of it. But still, since everybody is acting all hush hush about the plot... I don't know if you can count this review as being spoilery. This is like the handbook of toxic relationships. I don't know if you can count this review as being spoilery. This is like the handbook of toxic relationships. Any red flag you can think of is in it, and let me give you a few examples: him telling you want you can and can't do, putting you down, even in front of others all in the sake of "opening your eyes", not coming to your rescue when you are obviously drowning in the sea of assholes, being a major influence on you so that you completely change your behavior, opinions and values, because it pleases him, allowing him to control how and when you use your phone because his time is so valuable that you HAVE to be in the "now" with him, otherwise you aren't worthy of his efforts and attention and to be with a guy like him you just HAVE to understand that he can't tell you anything about what he does or with who, and that everything he does is for a very good reason. And no, you can't ask what that reason is. Ever. Even if that means hurting you, laughing at you and making you look like a complete idiot. But you know, that's okay because of REASONS. Well.... Excuse me while I go scream into a pillow. Another thing that bugged me is that she didn't have a relationship with her father to begin with (that is one of the few things that did get explained, sorta) but he is totally okay with her basically living together with a guy she met a few weeks ago. At one time her father sends her an email with some rules, but I must have missed the part where she put in some effort to follow just even one of those rules and it had zero repercussions. The dad is there for a reason of course, but it's not like he does more than exist for other plot related reasons. If you are looking for angst, this book has tons of it. If you are looking for a strong heroine, this book doesn't have one. I'm sorry, but Cecelia is a complete doormat when it comes to, well.... relationships. I get it, when a hot guy looks at you like he's starving and you're his last supper, a girl might get weak in the knees, but Cecelia gets hurt badly so many times I lost count. And each time she has a moment where you think "Yes girl, show me those girl nuts!" and then barely a page later she'll let herself be bent over the nearest flat surface, screaming the guy's name. The book ends in a huge cliffhanger (yet I honestly can't believe this is happening). But still, I gave this 4 stars because I gobbled it up like it was my last supper.

New Adult Romance | Mystery & Suspense Flock has to be on of the most intoxicating novels I have ever read. Kate Stewart didn’t hold back with this one and she drew me in from the first page. This book is unlike anything I’ve read in a long time and readers who have enjoyed books like Credence by Penelope Douglas are going to want to get their hands on this one. I was consumed by Sean, Dominic, and Cecelia. I was consumed by Sean, Dominic, and Cecelia. Sure, Sean and Dom’s evasiveness had me struggling to hold back my anger a bit, but it all came together in a big bang and I am in absolute NEED of Exodus right now! What other readers are saying is true. This is a 5 star, must read novel and all romance readers need it in their lives. It’s an excellent book! Highly erotic in some respects (but not erotica), completely romantic in others, and has a bit of mystery and suspense to keep you aching for more. I honestly cannot recommend this one enough! This is going to be a mini review as I don’t want to spoil anything in the plot (you need to go into this one blind) but I will say this: Flock is an all-consuming, stay up past your bedtime, powerful read. I am absolutely obsessed with this novel and am anxiously awaiting Exodus which will be the conclusion to their story. Kate Stewart is a master at bringing her readers angsty, consuming love stories and that’s no different with Flock. This is a must read.
