Could a man like him ever be interested in a woman like her? The bigger question was, would he be willing to wait until her 7 years are up or by some miracle, her master frees her? Patrick Mulligan had a dream. So, he worked hard, saved his money, and did what he had to to make more. Including fighting. Something he was quite good at. Soon he'd have enough money to have his own business and be his own boss. There were, however, a few problems. Well, one actually. He fell in love. And, as luck would have it, with a woman he could never have. Unless he fought the toughest fight of his life. And of course, risk losing that life in the process ... Enjoy this clean and wholesome tale of fighting for love.

Another great story from Kit Morgan. Being an indentured servant is hard especially knowing you can never marry the man of your dreams, but when he has a chance to marry you and freeing you from service, he'll do anything to make that happen. He'll even fight for your hand in marriage. Wait but you told him if he fought you'd never speak to him again. He fought, now what? This is another fantastic story by the fabulous Ms. Morgan and I highly encourage you to read it, especially if you are a fan of Another great story from Kit Morgan. This is another fantastic story by the fabulous Ms. Morgan and I highly encourage you to read it, especially if you are a fan of her Clear Creek stories. If you haven't read them yet you should start at the beginning as it will fill in the background before you get to this new series which with only book two is already a favorite. You not only learn the background but you'll be laughing so hard at this wacky town and it's wacky and loving characters. Items win win for you.

I really enjoyed this book. Kit Morgan is an excellent author giving us very believable situations. You can just feel the frustration and heartbreak as Mary tries to cope with the fact that she will be an indentured servant for seven years; not able to follow a young woman's aspirations of a husband, home and family. You won't want to put this story down.

Who will win? such a fun story about such stubborn characters! It is always interesting to see what drove people to move across country. I enjoy the glimpse of earlier Americana.
