I really enjoyed this story and thought the author got the lead characters just right. Occasionally alpha type males can be too bossy but not Gavin. So yes I really enjoyed the romance here although initially didn’t quite understand why certain individuals tried to misdirect Gavin. Happily he’s a persistent type but seeing him melt over a small boy just made me smile. Now add in a little danger with a creepy bad guy oh and the most naughty but invisible ( just kidding!) kitty cat and yes this story had all the good feelings I could ask for. This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Gavin is tasked with going to the old Riverson Pack after they are all rescued from the terror that was Brian Riverson to relocate them to different packs. But there is still one he hasn't been able to talk because she keeps avoiding him. When he finally catches up with the sassy young she wolf, all bets are off, she has to come home with him because she's got his otherwise obedient wolf going all loony and that only means one thing....MATE Besides Gavin discovers she's not only been hiding herself from him, but she has an extra little surprise tucked away. At the age of 16 Omega Rachel Fields witnessed horrible atrocities no young wolf should and takes it upon herself to hide and protect the one person left of her family. She's been on her own with the boy she adopted as her own for 6 long years. She trusts no one and is not going to be upped and rerouted to another pack that might continue the nightmare she had to live in the at the hands of Brian Riverson. But when she locks eyes with Gavin Blackwood, all those thoughts want to go out the window, her wolf stands at attention and wants to roll over, but she is a strong wolf and won't give in. Problem is she doesn't realize that everyone, but her old pack can feel her omega feelings and that especially includes the very hot Enforcer.

Ehhhh, it was ok but... I dunno. The heroine didn't make sense to me you know? The hero didn't either to be honest. The hero in previous books was nothing like what he was like in this book, even before he found "magic pussy". Maybe an alien has actually taken over his body? This could possibly be sci-fi! How'd she learn to ride the D like that if she wouldn't even leave the little kid unsupervised long enough to skin his knee? Tossing in something like "oh by the way the heroine gave the little dude to someone she REALLY trusted -who will not be in this book- to get her freak on with randoms every Thursday night" would have been helpful. Also, the conflict... Not the part where she pretended to be smart about things and post pone banging the hero until he'd jumped over 15,000,000 hurdles and waded through miles of red tape, no not that. The bad guy... We never learn why this guy was really after her. Cause she was an omega? Dude, I dunno, your guess is as good as mine.

Interesting idea that was terribly executed. Pretty sure I rolled my eyes at least once per chapter. The heroine really got on my nerves with her constant misgivings about Gavin. When it became a love-fest for how cute her kid was, I checked out. DNF.

4.5-5 stars This was a great series. I loved both Rachel and Gavin (and Eric) and loved seeing them become a family. I haven't read the previous book in this series and although there are a few things I would have probably understood better if I'd read the previous books, this can pretty much be read as a standalone. I haven't read the previous book in this series and although there are a few things I would have probably understood better if I'd read the previous books, this can pretty much be read as a standalone. Rachel is a wolf shifter that works as a waitress and is raising her cousin as her own. Rachel is an omega, meaning she can influence the emotions of those around her. Rachel's old Alpha (and Uncle) was killed by a evil Alpha that took over their pack and terrorized everyone in it. Rachel tried to keep herself and Eric safe as much as possible considering. When the old Alpha was taken out, Rachel was relieved but the thought of trusting a new Alpha/pack was inconceivable. Gavin is the Enforcer for his pack as well as being the official Sheriff for the town the pack lives in/near. Gavin's brother is the Alpha of their pack and Gavin is his top Enforcer. Because of this, Gavin was given the duty of helping Rachel's pack deal with everything that happened after the evil Alpha was removed. The members of Rachel's pack are alright with splitting up to join the other local packs in the area (since their pack doesn't have an Alpha anymore) but Rachel has a hard time with the idea of trusting anyone now. She tries to avoid Gavin, planning to live as a lone wolf to raise Eric outside of a pack. Eric is half-shifter but can't shift so she fears he'd be picked on or worse in a new pack so Rachel is prepared to live packless to take care of him. When Gavin tracks Rachel down, he knows right away that she's his mate. Rachel isn't so sure but there is a very strong attraction between them. Rachel does try to put Gavin off but it helps that Eric's BFF is moving to Gavin's pack so Eric is all on board for joining that pack as well. Rachel agrees to move but is leery so she insists on her own place and that she and Gavin go slow in their mating. While Gavin is a bit frustrated, he's a good guy and understands Rachel's fear and distrust so he's willing to so whatever it takes to gain that trust. Because Rachel considers Eric to be her own child, Gavin (and his wolf) automatically accept Eric and his tenderness and protectiveness towards the buy helps Rachel to trust Gavin. While Rachel and Eric are getting settled in and more comfortable with everything, Gavin tries to be there for them without being intrusive. Unfortunately, it seems one of the bad shifters from Rachel's old pack didn't get caught after all and starts sending threats to Rachel, just as she's starting to feel more comfortable Gavin and her new home/pack. There is some drama/danger that arises but thankfully, it's dealt with and Rachel, Gavin and Eric end the story as a family and heading for a HEA. I enjoyed this story greatly. Rachel was a really good heroine and while she was reluctant to trust at times, she wasn't annoying about it and showed strength when it was needed (especially for Eric). Gavin was a great hero and I would completely love to have Gavin for myself. Overall, I loved the characters and though the story was really good and highly engaging so I would recommend it. :)

Gavin and Rachel are two very strong characters that really speak to the reader making it easy for the readers to become completely caught up in their story. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is off the charts but the relationship is a bit rocky due to some emotional issues and the heroine’s determination to live her life the way she fits. And there is quite a bit of amusing dialogue between Rachel and Gavin that have readers smile or even erupting in laughter.   The plot is fast pace and full of thrilling suspense, not only in regards to whether Gavin can win Rachel’s heart, but also due to someone from the old pack who has some nefarious intentions. Add in some a cute little boy, mischievous kittens and there readers can’t help but have a delightfully entertaining reading experience that has them wanting hear more from the Blackwood Pack.

Overall I liked the book. Just a few things bothered me. A few errors in the book and that part about Nora lying to Gavin about Eric being dead...I dont understand it. What I didnt understand was when she decided to mate and seal their bond she still didnt want to move into his cabin and become a family altogether. That irked me and I thought ok if she's going to mate the guy and seal their bond why wouldnt she want to move in and if she wasnt ready for that then she sure as hell wasnt ready to mate with Gavin. Made no sense. I mean the 2 kinda go hand in hand. Mate and move with your mate. Gah I dont know. It bothered me though. It was an enjoyable book and I liked reading it. I have to admit its my least favorite of the series. *sad face*

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest Can old wounds heal ? Rachel had lived in fear for so long, that she is not sure if this freedom is for real. Gavin is trying to help the old Riverson pack. Among the pack, he finds his mate, and she is a stubborn one. Let the wooing commence! This is was a sweet story. I loved the storytelling + the characters It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

As the Blackwood pack enforcer Gavin has been sent to former Riverson pack location to tie up loose ends, get some answers and relocate members of the now Fields pack into the Blackwood pack if that is their choice. This pack has been through hell with an abusive alpha who massacred their former alpha and so many members of their pack – now he’s awaiting prison for his crimes and life can move on for the members of the pack. Except there is one major holdout, a woman who is the pack Omega and has no intention of leaving her home. She’s already a lone wolf and hiding a secret from the Blackwood enforcer. Dumb luck that had Gavin being at the right place to learn Rachel’s secret and change her life and the young boy she’s protected for years from the wolf who killed his father and mother. She might be stubborn, she may be an untrained Omega, but she’s also Gavin’s mate and while he can be patient up to a point, he’s not leaving his mate or their young charge behind. Rachel doesn’t trust anyone any more. Her experience with a vile alpha over the past few years has taught her to keep her head down, watch her back and protect Eric. She is convinced that Gavin’s pack is just the same as the one she’s experienced these last years, and has no interest in putting herself under another alpha’s control. Yes, she gets that Gavin is probably her mate… but her first priority is to Eric, and if Gavin doesn’t like that he can take a hike. Unfortunately, not all of the abusive pack members were rounded up… and one is determined to have Rachel for his own. She has to trust Gavin and her new pack to keep Eric safe, and that’s not easy for her to do. Watching Gavin shed his enforcer hard shell and fall for Rachel and Eric is endearing. The lengths he will go to in order for her to begin trusting him, believing that she’s in no danger from his brothers, his alpha or his pack are pretty amazing. I get why Rachel feels and acts as she does, she’s basically been in a dangerous, abusive, frightening situation for years – and trust no longer comes easily, not even for her mate. Watching her open up. learn to take people at face value once again was heartwarming. Eric is a sweetheart and adorable as can be. Definitely steamy once Rachel began to let her feelings come to the front for Gavin, dangerous and tense at times, overall I enjoyed my time in this world once again. I don’t know if this is the last of the Real Men Shift series, but I have had an enjoyable time with all of these characters, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Real Men Growl to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. Will Gavin be able to claim his mate, and her pup, or will she be obstinate until the end? Overall, an enjoyable shifter romance, but nothing really unique, even within the Blackwood stories. We have another instance of feral Riverson wolves as the villain, encroaching on Blackwood territory and threatening Blackwood mates. Not that it was a bad story, but a lot of it just familiar, done before. I liked Gavin, but I got frustrated with Rachel though. The hs in the previous books pushed back against the mate bond - an irresistible connection - but then, they were newly turned wolves and didn't know better. Rachel was a born wolf. She knew better, but was still pushing back against the bond. Just unnecessary drama. I got a little tired of the family drama too. It was just too perfect how quickly Gavin fell in love with Eric. Insta-love for the pup as well as the mate - just too clean, too family perfect. Sweet to the point of saccharine. Not that Gavin falling for the pup wasn't sweet, or that I'd want an H who didn't want the pup his h came with. It was just too much, you know? Still weak on the details, plus we start getting some continuity errors here. Which Riverson was ruling when - the timelines got very blurry. Plus continuity errors on the part of the author. The town has been Ashtown for the previous two books, but here it floats between Ashtown and Ashwood. C'mon - the main town name?? Alternating 3rd person POV. No cheating, no love triangle nonsense, no OW/OM drama. A fun, fairly fluffy shifter romance with some unique touches and some quirky examples of humor, but a bit of unnecessary drama from Rachel about the mate bond, and just way too sweet on the family side. HEA and no cliffhangers. Would I read more in the series? Yes.

Gavin is making progress and nearing the end of his assignment. The niece of the former Alpha, Rachel Fields, has remained elusive. Rachael Fields was 16 when Brian Riverson killed her uncle and his new human mate. She took his human infant son and ran. She was caught by his sentinels, but convinced them the baby was hers. She has lived mostly away from the pack, helping were she could, and the pack has kept her secret about Eric. The NRC Enforcer has tract her down. She wants to deny what her wolf is telling her, Gavin Blackwood is her mate. She has no desire for a mate or joining another pack. She just wants to live a quiet live with her Eric. Gavin has found his mate and she is a powerful Omega. Little Eric steals his heart, his wolf claiming him as his. Gavin has to convince his mate that she and Eric will be safe and welcome in his brothers pack. Not all of Brian Riverson's thugs have been rounded up. Rachel and Eric are still a target. Fast paced and steamy. Loved Gavin, a powerful enforcer with a compassionate heart, the perfect mate to a powerful Omega, who survived the tragedy of her packs destruction and managed to raise the son of her uncle into a well adjusted little boy. Loved Gavin and Rachel's story.

This is an OK shifter romance, but it was a bit too short to have enough character development. I would have liked more backstory on both Gavin and Rachel. I really liked Rachel and Gavin, but thought that it would have taken Rachel longer to agree to join another pack and to be Gavin's mate. The terrible things she had seen and experienced when her pack was led by an evil alpha would have made her very afraid to trust anyone, even if she thought he was her mate. Overall, it was a quick, mildly entertaining read. It does feature instalove, but that is typical in shifter romances. If you are looking for a quick shifter read, with some steamy scenes, this is a good choice. My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Gavin was told by the National Ruling Circle to help the Riversons pack disperse into other packs. He knew it was a big deal to be asked to do this, but he wanted nothing to do with this. But he had no choice could he tell the NRC that NOPE. Gavin has been with the Riversons pack, make that the Fields pack, the name the pack has gone back to, for days going through the paperwork when he finds information about the pack take over. His job would be easier if the pack trusted him. This was a great story. We start right from book 2 into this book. The characters from books 1and 2 are also in this book. Which makes this series great. I feel in love with little Eric. Gavin is a great man, just like his brothers from books 1and 2. If you have not had the pleasure of reading this series don't pass up the chance to read them. But just so you know they are available in audio. And to hear little Eric talk or to hear the other characters talk in their own voice just adds something to a story.

A well rounded and enjoyable read with a very good storyline. The final brother Gavin gets his HEA and I am glad it is with Rachel, the feisty Omega. Loved Gavin from the previous books but he really came through for Rachel and Eric. Rachel was one amazingly strong person for her age. Reading this you don’t realise she is only about 22 years old as she has had to go through so much over the last 6 years. Great story that tugs at your heartstrings on more than one occasion due to the horrors that have happened to the Fields pack. The fun with the kittens names was very cute though. Loved having all the other characters around, even if the other female mates are not involved overly much. By the time I had finished this book I wanted to go back and reread the previous two to refresh my memory. My only irritation is at the end of chap nine we get a bit of a bombshell dropped, then nothing is said about it again for quite a few chapters. I found this very strange especially in lieu of what it was. The NRC were most unhelpful. I hope these two authors will write about some of the other characters we have met in this pack. This book was kindly given to me by the author but I read it through KU.

Rachel is done being told what to do after 6 years of living under Brian Riverson cruel rule and wants no part of any more Alpha's and their packs, she has a child to protect and that will be her main concern now, she has no time for the attraction she is having for Gavin. An old enemy has surfaced and it appears he is targeting Rachel and Eric her son. Rachel will have no choice now but to move to the Blackwood Pack land to protect Eric, and she will have to stand her ground and make Gavin understand that Eric is her priority despite how much she wants to kiss and lick every available inch of him. A big thank you to Celia Kyle and Marina Maddix for the lovely review copy. I have also bough another copy for my own library. Highly recommend these authors and their books.

Self sacrifice is the ultimate strength you need. Rachael was very protective of her little cousin who she's had since born. Being an Omega and not knowing how to control your powers is one thing but being stuck with a newborn when you're 16 is even tougher but she did what she had to do. Gavin hated what Brian and his family did to packs and families. He was glad to fix a problem but in doing so he came across a lot of stuff he never dreamt about like finding his mate. It gave him not to see his mate at work but gave him even more pride to see his boy defending himself the best way he knew how. The final showdown came and it was epic.

Kyle and Maddix are an awesome duo of authors. Although Gavin is the final Blackwood to get his mate I am hoping they continue the Real Men series. The stories pack a whallup and keep you thoroughly entertained. I voluntarily chose to read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
