The second book in this series. George and Hillary are still stuck outside while it looks like some people they once trusted were lying and using them all along. The Council outright refuses to help them. They begin to try to set up some kind of shelter for themselves but they find out there are bears in the area - and possibly something much, much worse. The reality of what was scheduled for the group is revealed to them, though, and we find out just how horrible the Council can be. If that wasn't enough to deal with they meet some adult on the outside and it turns out he's married but his wife is nearly insane. Then nearly everything seems to fall apart. It gets very, very grim yet the ending of the book is as good as it can be under the circumstances. There's a bunch of other books in the series, too.

Expatriates Well dang! This second book takes on a whole different tone than the first. It starts with learning daily life and then everything changes. No I am off to see where book three may go.

Not a bad read I found it a bit difficult to get into the book but did persevere and did finish it. I quite enjoyed it further into the story
