Living with the ghost of your ex-husband is no joke. Awesome. Her romance is faltering. Mainly due to the fact that the ghost of her ex-husband won't give her any privacy when she's at home. However a skating date sounded like fun - well sort of. She really hated ice skating! Coming back with an extra ghost wasn't part of her plans. Especially as the ghost is a young girl that was murdered years ago. Can she uncover the facts after 50 years? How can she take on the rich and powerful if they decide to block her? A seance, bear shifters, murder, cover ups, killer birds and the town curse are woven into a great plot that will keep you riveted. Okay we know who most of the "baddies" are but nevertheless a tremendous read with the characters growing and unfurling as the series progresses.

Hilarious! I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Carly is back with another ghost client and an unhealthy addiction to dying oO This time she gets to feel the backlash of the high and mighty while trying to expose a cover up from 1957. The huge cast of Landover in past and present got somewhat confusing for me(so many names >.<), but I just love the humor and the unique voice of the MC. Both again being excellent in this book. Between spinning class (that chapter had me laughing so hard ^o^) and keeping her Ghost-EX from spoiling her relationship, she also discovers new clues about the curse and the various shifters inhabiting Landover. All the while the mutant birds are watching her every step. Do pick it up if you are a fan of the series.

The story was interesting but the conclusion to all of it was amateur at best. The clues lead to no one, but she connects them to someone by using ridiculous reason. I’m like...What? So weak. Also, I would much prefer for this MC to be singles I’ve her “love interest/life” is so pathetic, it’s annoying. Plus, she is so dimwitted, if she reproduces, it will be an added curse to LandOver.

I read the first four books of this series in just three days. I will say that by book 3, the wait for more information and critical insights into the story behind the story gets a bit tedious - but the writing is charming and light, with just the right measurements of love, mysteries, and the paranormal to make for an excellent holiday/commute/beach read.
