One of the great things about the Hay House Basics series is that they're no-nonsense books that explain their subject in an easy to understand manner. They also tend to be pretty quick reads with layouts that allow you to absorb the information in an easy way. Goddess Wisdom is another in the series and is a brilliant introduction to the sacred feminine, something that has been lost over recent centuries but which is slowly making a comeback. Women are trained, mostly subconsciously, that their bodies and the outward appearance are all that matters and that they are there for the pleasure of men. This book is a quick and easy guide to starting to reclaim and reawaken your feminine side, connecting to traditions that are far older than we can imagine. While some of the information may be familiar to those who have been following pagan paths for a while, this book presents it in a way that connects it to the female. Beautifully and passionately written and the perfect read for anyone who is interested in the sacred feminine and in reawakening all that we thought had been lost.

I liked some parts of this book but thought there were many things that didn't make sense, or resonated with me or didn't agree with. I actually found that the author had a habit of making women feel 'special' but at the same time putting them down. Things like these make no sense to me and obviously don't resonate with me at all.

It opened me up to wanting to learn more. If you’re a novice to things like chakras, kundalini, and the moon phases I would recommend this book. Just know it touches on the topics and doesn’t go into too much detail. The book did inspire me to continue my studies. I was drawn to two areas in particular (moon phases and goddess energy) so I’ll move onto them next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the development exercises in it. It's made me curious to read more on the Sacred Feminine, which is great.

Disappointing I had wanted to read this book for ages, but I'm afraid it felt me feeling disappointed and I didn't finish it. It didn't grab me the way some books do and as a result I trudged through it rather than reading it freely. As I said I ended up not finishing it as I just couldn't be bothered. Tanishka knows her subject and I'm sure others will enjoy it enormously. I'm afraid I'm just not one of them.

As with all books of this nature some parts will resonate with you and some will not. The topic is so broad so the "made easy" part almost made me put it back but it was at Half Price Books so what the hell. I am looking for history, back story, roots, foundations. This did have some things that I want to look into more. But over all it seemed more about the author and her personal practices and values. Not particularly what I was looking for at this time.

I enjoyed this book. The author did her research and presented her work in a respectful, inclusive manner that didn't scream at its audience. Instead, her work was warm and inviting. I also liked how interactive this book is with exercises you can work and reflect on at the end of each chapter. She referenced her work and also included a lot of good resources. Well worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book. 'Made easy' is certainly correct as I found it a light read and didn't seem to be re-reading paragraphs where I didn't understand much. It all flowed and resonated with me deeply. A great sense of care for the reader comes across and after reading this book I just wanted to read more similar. Surely a good sign!

3.5 I was a bit hesitant at first since I am not religious and do not believe in "the goddess", but it was easy to just see it as a history lesson and a guide in healing the divine feminine within you. I was actually impressed with the amount of research she has put into this. There are sources for most of her claims in the back of the book and she refers to archeologists, researchers, professors etc. It is a bit wicca-esque, esp at the end which kinda bugged me, but since I knew from the getgo th 3.5 I was a bit hesitant at first since I am not religious and do not believe in "the goddess", but it was easy to just see it as a history lesson and a guide in healing the divine feminine within you. It has given me a lot of insights and has def helped me on my way to heal the broken relationship with the feminine energy in me. Allnall: a good book. The reason for the 3.5 and not 4 or 4.5 is because it is kinda narrow in terms of gender identities, non binary and trans people (not every woman bleed and not every person who bleed is a woman, people!) so it felt a bit excluding. She put a lot of enphasis on bleeding on the new moon and most women today dont do that anymore because of several reasons but mostly because we are not in tune with that part of nature and ourselves anymore, and some of us have irregular cycles and dont have 28 day cycles on the dot etc, and if you are feeling vulnerable regarding that this can be a unforgiving book to read.

Very interesting book if you are looking for more information on women sacred rituals and ancient wisdom. There are a few suggestions throughout the book to implement some of these into our modern daily life. The only thing that was disappointing for me was that the author only scratches the surface for some of the very interesting topics. She does mention a number of references at the end of the book. I was also expecting more historical facts on ancient women rituals.

Best book read in a long time. History of the matriarchy in a very accessible way. Nice allround information on the subject. Perfect 1st read to get started in educating yourself. Definitely gonna read it again to soak up the information. I look up lots of things when talking with friends, would recommend it to everyone interested in the old ways.
