I've said it before and I will say it again - I love this re-read! Neutral is a short but sweet novella in this wonderful series. Even though it's not from Willa's POV we do still get to see her in this. The one thing that made me laugh and smile was just getting Emmy and Cyrus's POV in this. Especially after they first met, and the previous book, we knew that something it was up. It was completely obvious and I wanted to know more about them. This book did not disappoint. I love Emmy's power too and I'm intrigued to see what she's going to do with. Possibly grant all the gods chances to create their own babies? Or maybe anyone back home? Who knows - we have endless theories and opportunities. Other than that, Pica still creeps me out and I just want to know why. Maybe I will get all my answers after the next book. I can't wait to devour it! ______________________________________ A BOOK ABOUT EMMY FROM HER POV? HECK YES, SIGN ME TF UP! Neutral was a really fun book to dive into. Totally made up for the boring moments from Strength and now I'm even more pumped to dive into the next book, Pain. Emmy was probably my favorite dweller - since Willa wasn't technically one since book 1. I just loved her sass and sarcasm. Plus, she rarely took other people's shit.. unless she was actually forced to clean that ish up. Either way, I loved her! Other than that, there's Cyrus in this book. Honestly, I didn't really care for the neutral god but when Emmy changed is title to Sacred Asshole, I died. Instantly started to ship them together because I wanted them all to be on big happy family. As for Emmy and her power, I'm excited. I wonder what's going to happen once everyone realizes her power.. and then whatever the hell Willa has. This whole thing probably could be easily solved with just giving Stravati the gift of having a kid.. but I doubt Pain is going to go down that route. I will, however, try to enjoy the book before the series ends.

I actually liked Neutral more than I like the main series. The reason is that Emmy is much more like me, personality wise, than Willa. Willa is a natural disaster and while fun to be around (from a safe distance of course - like, you know, being in a different world from her!), she can be quite annoying and tiresome. I've come across some scatterbrained heroines that I like a lot before (case in point Charley Davidson) Willa tends to be really dense and sometimes even outright stupid. Don't get me wrong, I like her, I just need some time away from her. And that's why I'll never binge read the entire series in one sitting. Emmy is the total opposite and despite the drama and insta-love it was simply relaxing to see things from her perspective. It was peaceful. And the change is so refreshing that I wasn't really bothered by Cyrus creepy -rapey behaviour. Okay not precisely not bothered more like not bothered enough to let it ruin my enjoyment of the book.

What a great novella. I love Cyrus and Emmy, they are such a great couple. I loved being able to read a part of the story from their point of view. I enjoyed this set up for the last book in one of my favorite series. I am going to be sad to say goodbye to my favorite characters but I am so hype for the epic conclusion to one of the best RH series i have read.

What a lovely little surprise this novella was! Turning, I found Cyrus a few feet away, wrapped in a towel. Sprinkles of water peppered right across his chest, leading down the muscled ridges of his torso to the angled lines dipping below his towel. Holy crap, the Sacred Asshole was … Average, I lied to myself. I've always loved Cyrus and I definitely loved Emmy and Neutral together. Great chemistry, not to mention a great addition to the series. 4.5 stars What a lovely little surprise this novella was! Turning, I found Cyrus a few feet away, wrapped in a towel. 5 out of 5 stars⭐️ “This was my damn family.” The novella is told from Cyrus and Emmy’s point of view, and it was fantastic!! The interaction between the two was just funny, sweet and sexy. I can’t belive I skipped out on reading this book when I last read the series. It was sadlysuuuuuper short but sweet and perfect for Emmy’s story nonetheless. Now that Emmy has been killed by Staviti things pick right up as she’s waking up. Waking up as whole new being: a Goddess. Things between Cyrus and Emmy suddenly become a lot less crazy and 100 times more sexually volatile. The myths about dweller/God relationships no longer apply. It’s like Cyrus really is a different person around Emmy. I can’t belive I skipped out on reading this book when I last read the series. He’s actually not that unlikable.... at times and usually only when things go his way 😂 I love how twisted up Cyrus is over Emmy and how eventually his control breaks and he wants nothing more than her. I really loved this story and seeing a little bit more of Emmy and how she manages to handle the Neutral God. I imagine she’s had years and years of practice with Willa to prepare for anything the world throws at her and Cyrus better watch out.

2nd time reading I've only recently starting reading the novellas in series and I'm so glad. They contain so much information and this is no exception. It's a nice break to see someone else's point of view, especially Emmy since she's been at Willa's side since the beginning. Emmy seems so controlled and serious, but in this we find out that she's passionate and wild. Even more so now that she's a goddess and doesn't have to bow to anyone. This novella focuses on Emmy and Cyrus and I could not have been more thrilled! Emmy and Cyrus are two characters that I was so curious to know more about on a deeper level during the first four books on the series. I loved that this novella was written in dual POV, switching from Emmy to Cyrus throughout the story. I loved getting in their heads. It really brings the character development up a notch. I loved the romance between them. Their coming together was the central part of the story and I loved every moment. There is a hate-to-love vibe going on in the beginning, at least from Emmy's side of things. The romance was built up from their interactions in the previous book. It didn't take long for it to take root, but that still didn't make it feel too rushed. Yes, I would have loved it if they had been building up the relationship longer from even earlier books in the series, but it is still satisfying nonetheless. I totally ship Cyrus and Emmy as a couple and I can't wait to see what becomes of them in the final book! This novella takes place during the last parts of book four and then it goes beyond the end of book four. While this story is focused on Emmy and Cyrus, we do get to spend a little time with Willa and her Abcurses. I loved that this novella was similar to the other books in the series with regard to humor. There were a couple of scenes in the book that literally had me laughing out loud. I very much enjoy that in a book. Overall, I would definitely recommend reading this novella before starting the final book in the series. There is a lot of pertinent information for the development of the plot and the relationship between Cyrus and Emmy is a joy to read. This novella is definitely an asset to the series! We take a little break from Willa and the Abcurses to hear from the POVs of Emmy and Cyrus. Emmy was turned into a god by Willa at the end of book 4, but she doesn't know what she is the goddess of or what her powers are. Cyrus has always been drawn to her, but it has intensified since her transition. He has agreed to keep her safe, hidden, and help her discover her powers. To do that, he has to provoke her emotions......yep, all that tension between them is finally put to good use. Did you need more Cyrus and Emmy in your life? If so, this was the book for you. It is duel POV from both Cyrus and Emmy. The first few pages of this book had the trademark humor of the series. Don't be drinking while you read the beginning or there could be an accident. After that, things get more serious as the situation is somewhat grave and Cyrus and Emmy aren't Willa and the Abcurses. They do make an appearance, as does Pica who continues to be as crazy as they come, though with good reason. Did you need more Cyrus and Emmy in your life? If so, this was the book for you. This book accomplishes two things, one, give you the Cyrus/Emma romance almost everyone wanted, and two, gives you more insight into how the world works from Cyrus's informed point of view as he was not made by the god of creation. If I had to guess, information in this novella will be key for resolution to the series in Pain.

"You'd be lucky to have my colour," I told Willa. "Neutral is powerful. Untouchable. Pure. Original. Even more original than the very first gods." "Uh huh," she said, her lips twitching. "It's amazing, Cyrus, truly one of a kind." I stilled. "Are you mocking me?" She flashed a grin in my direction. "Come on, white is a little boring, don't you think?" Emmy chuckled, and that fired me up even more. "No," I declared. "I do not think that at all. In fact, it's the best colour you could ever have, and if "You'd be lucky to have my colour," I told Willa. "Neutral is powerful. Untouchable. Pure. Original. "Come on, white is a little boring, don't you think?" Emmy chuckled, and that fired me up even more. "No," I declared. "I do not think that at all. In fact, it's the best colour you could ever have, and if you don't choose white as your colour, I'm going to be really upset." For fuck's sake. I needed to get out of there. Those two were turning me into a dweller. I was discussing interior colour schemes. And why did I give a shit if they didn't like my colour. The opinion of bugs shouldn't matter to me. It never had before. This was a nice addition to the story, it picks up right where book 4 left off, and you get to see what's going on with Emmy and Cyrus. I really liked getting Emmy's perspective. She's so different from Willa, but she was still really funny. I've been liking Cyrus more as the series progresses, and I can't tell you how happy I am that he didn't turn out to be a douchebag. I mean, he's an arrogant, Sacred Asshole, but he's not a bad guy. I'm glad these two got together, especially since they've been dancing around it for awhile now. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them in the next book, I like them even more now. "You're…not what I expected." I finally said, not sure if there were better words I could have used. It felt next to impossible to put my true emotions into anything quantitative right then. "For all of my power," Cyrus said after a click, "I never saw you coming. Even if I had, there is no way I could have prepared myself for you." ~ Something shifted, then, and I wasn't sure what it was. I had the oddest sensation of the world tilting around me, of society falling away until only my soul remained, burning brightly with Cyrus's light. I felt as though I was on the edge of a precipice; a choice. I could give in, jump off, submit. I could give him exactly what he had been demanding for so long…all I had to do was agree. ~ For the first time since Emmy died, since I faced Staviti on that cliff top, the tight ball of tension in my chest loosened…because Willa was right. Despite all of the odds, I was now part of a family. Emmy was mine. Willa was her sister. The Abcurses were bonded to Willa. This was my damn family. I was no longer alone, and in that moment, I knew there was nothing I wouldn't do to keep them all safe.

I love Emmanuelle. I love Cyrus. Possibly more than the Abcurses. Only a teeny weeny more though. I mean, how can I not? "In that moment, he was twenty times hotter than he'd ever been. Intelligence did it for me. His was teamed with arrogance as well, but that was kind of to be expected for a god." Emmanuelle's words, not mine but you can slap me with your shoe if it isn't true for me. The humor was albeit a bit different from Willa's but not without a few echoes of her. Emmanuelle's words, not mine but you can slap me with your shoe if it isn't true for me. The humor was albeit a bit different from Willa's but not without a few echoes of her. "Don't you dare kiss me again." "Why the fuck not?" he growled. "Because I think you're a ... terrible ... person! And a drunk! It doesn't matter if you're sober now, you're just sober drunk!" His lips twitched, almost curving into a smile. "And you're just a bug, but I seem to recall you kissing me." "I'm allowed to. You're not." The 'sober drunk' thing seemed like something Willa would say, not Emmy. Emmy was supposed to be smart. I was expecting a bit more witty retorts from her. But... whatever. I love the nickname Bug though. Sounds soooo cute. Anyway, off to the conclusion. Bring it on, baby. It's time for...*dramatic whisper*...war. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

More kisses, more banter and a new God - literal LOL’s Continuing straight on from Strength, perfect this novella is about dweller Emmy waking up after being killed by Staviti. However she’s no longer a dweller, but a Scared One. Oh poor Emmy, she’s still trying to deny her attraction to Cyrus at first, hopefully that doesn’t last long. What God will she be with her green robes, which are almost blue? This book with have you literally laughing out loud within a few pages. Who knew that Emmy’s inte More kisses, more banter and a new God - literal LOL’s Continuing straight on from Strength, perfect this novella is about dweller Emmy waking up after being killed by Staviti. This was short. It wasn't as funny as the usual CotG stuff, probably because it was Emmy and Cyrus, not Willa and the Abcurses. I did like it though. They had nice sexual tension and witty banter. Emmy is the goddess of (view spoiler)[fertility (hide spoiler)] which is interesting. 3 stars. This was short. What a surprise by author Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington, with “Neutral” coming out. This story is about two of the supporting characters from Curse of the Gods series, Willa’s sister/best friend Emmy and Cyrus the Neutral god. These two characters are my favorite supporting character and I just love reading their story. You get to understand some of their lives in the main story but so much more is explained and answers of questions I had as a reader were received. Emmy is every woman’s dream of how a best friend and really sister would be. Loyal, dedicated, caring, and will kick anyone in the rear for you. Cyrus is evolving in the last few books and you start to understand why in “Neutral”. I loved getting to know him more. He is becoming my favorite overall character in the series. Don’t miss this novella in the series. I highly recommend you read books 1-4 of the Curse of the Gods series prior to reading novellas 4.5 or you will be lost.

An excellent addition to the series. I don't like Cyrus much, but it looks like a bit of connection is going to set him right. :D An excellent addition to the series. I don't like Cyrus much, but it looks like a bit of connection is going to set him right. :D
