Some good recipes and inspiration for keto without the meat. I only had this out from the library but I've made multiple recipes from it, and all were successes. The Broccoli-Cheddar Soup was better than others I'd tried, and the Roasted Cauliflower Turmeric Soup had very good curry-like flavour that even my non-keto partner really enjoyed. I prepped the Portobello Pizza toppings on top of a cauliflower crust I had (as the grocery store was out of portobello caps), and it was an interesting, sau Some good recipes and inspiration for keto without the meat. I prepped the Portobello Pizza toppings on top of a cauliflower crust I had (as the grocery store was out of portobello caps), and it was an interesting, sauce-free way to top a pizza. I still intend to try the Zucchini Pasta Alfredo with the Alfredo Sauce recipe and the Cheesy Artichoke Dip using canned artichoke hearts. Some recipes were basic but good reminders of ideas to make, like the Steamed Broccoli with Avocado Oil, Spiced Green Beans with Almonds, and Garlic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The only main issues I had were that some instructions weren't how I would suggest cooking things (e.g., throwing the onion & garlic in together as you cook them before adding other ingredients - I'd do onion first, then garlic for around a minute before adding other things). Then there were a couple misleading areas like the Coconut Curry write-up which says curry originates in India (true), but then it's a Thai curry (based on the inclusion of coconut milk & red curry paste). These little things make me wonder how trustworthy the elements I don't know as well are. I would also prefer if every recipe had a photo, rather than just some of them. That said, it was a good cookbook for inspiration overall, the recipes I tried were tasty and successful and keto-vegetarian, and other recipes also looked interesting.

A decent, small cookbook on the title topic, I was predominantly reading the first section to get the basics down and previewed the entire book to glean cooking ideas for when a partner visits. This sort of felt to me like keto people trying to adapt to vegetarians rather than vegetarians promoting keto; the tone of most vegetarian cookbooks just wasn't there (e.g.- a chapter on fish/seafood in case you are pescatarian or accommodating others). Decent photos if not terribly inspiring are scattered throughout and clear directions, nutrition information and serving sizes along with tips accompany each recipe. This is a fine short introduction, but inspiration eluded me after reading it to try anything as most of the recipes were items I'd throw together on my own or highly similar to older cookbooks on my shelf.

I checked this out from my library and quickly realized I just needed to add it to my amazon cart. So many good, easy, quick recipes, which is just what I need to get back in the swing of keto. Also there is a keto Falafel Balls recipe in here y'all! KETO! FALAFEL! I am super pumped about that in case you couldn't tell. I’m not one to read and try every single recipe in a cookbook. Some recipes were okay but has multiple typo errors and be wary of some of the measurements! It almost feels like this wasn’t even edited.

If you are super new to cooking this might be a useful book to you. If you already know how to steam broccoli and don't need "recipe" for that then you can skip this one. It gives a good basic information on the keto diet. The recipes are a good base to start from.

None of these recipes even look appealing enough to try.
