I had no idea what I was expecting when I purchased this book. P*ssy Prayers is a book about taking back full ownership of your body (specifically your heartbeat that is between your thighs). The speaks on all topics from trauma to pleasure and everything in between. I liked how she stated that her book is not a replacement for treatment whether it be for therapy or medical issues. The author has laid out the book in such a way that it is not overwhelming, it is bite-sized and even the way she laid it out, makes it very approachable. She has also included resources for each thing that she talked about regarding our P*ssies (side note this is the word that she used and does not deviate from it LOL!!!). There is a lot of good information in it and basically, you take what you need, what will benefit you. This is a book that I know I will come back and read again because it is extremely helpful and eye-opening. I look forward to reading the other book by this author which is called "Please: Radical Self-Care for Wild Women of Color" I will get to it soon. Well Until My Next Review...Ciao!

This is a great read. The title captures your attention and the content will keep it. This book is about women valuing their buddies, not being ashamed of it, exploring it and embracing it sexual and non sexually.

I wanted to love this book so badly and there are definitely some gems. It pains me to give a black author writing on such an important topic a bad review, but I was extremely put off after the author suggested that certain medical conditions (infertility, fibroids, etc.) are caused by some sort of spiritual vagina disconnection. Ugh.

What a disappointment! If repetition was an ENTIRE book. The first TWO chapters were an introduction to the book where the phrase “This book” was used at a minimum of 20 times. The chapters to follow were repetitive girlfriend talk that could have been summed up in one chapter. While the title offers shock and awe to pull you in...the book in its entirety is as repetitive as this sentence. If you’re 30 and over there’s nothing here that you don’t know already and or have heard before. Self-help What a disappointment! If repetition was an ENTIRE book. I completed reading this book in abut three days. I had a hard time putting down this book. This book help me understand the power that is inside of us as woman. And how powerful are pussies are. I still use the books because of the rituals and also the great affirmations. Anyone who reads this book you should purchase it because you would want to refer back to it.

Informative This book is an easier approach to learning information about your womb wellness from an african perspective. It’s very enlightening to newbies on the journey to healing. I would recommend to anyone black woman in search of healing.

Honestly, I have no idea how the hell I found this book or when I bought it, but it caught my attention and I read it all the way through in one sitting lol. This book is definitely for the open-minded and more spiritual. I don't think anyone who has strong religious views would like this book every much. If you are easily offended by the word pussy, this book is not for you. The word is on every page several times lol. I loved that, I mean look at the title lol. I found this book to be arousing even though it's not erotic at all and is very informative. I dunno, I guess babygirl (my vagina) was appreciative of some of the ideas and agreed with the author lmao. All in all, this was a good unexpected read for me. I didn't expect much going in, but left with a whole lot of useful information and things to think about.

4.5 stars. Good read for younger or sexualluy immature women, or those uncomfortable with their sexuality and bodies. I read it out of curiosity and based on reviews from others. It does have great information in it. Good read for sure. And I appreciate that it suggests professional help for those deeply troubled or those who need it for whatever reason, as opposed to bashing therapy or only recommending treatments suggested in the book. Well done. 👍🏾👍🏾

It should've been shorter based on the amount of valuable information shared. The writing style didn't run smooth. It is a self empowerment book that may help someone. 2 chapters about what will be in the book and how to read the book. It just wasn't for me. I meannnn...listen. The fact that I can read a book with this title means your girl has come a long way in her sexuality and sexual expression. This is something that I NEEDED in my teens and early 20's but fear of retribution and what God and my parents would think of me would have had me avoiding a book like this back then. However, better late than never. I highly recommend this one for people who identify as a woman. It's special. There is homework. There may be tears shed and eyebrows raise I meannnn...listen. This book makes space for it and doesn't judge those of us who weren't born as free or could be as free growing up. I will absolutely be suggesting this one for any future book clubs that I'm in. My favorite part? The inclusion of queer women. I'm always hesitant to read books like this because it is typically written for a heteronomative lens and I'm happy to say this ain't that. Now that I've typed up this review, I gotta do the homework. The book comes with a PDF of discussion questions that you can do solo or alongside a group. I feel like not doing the work after reading will be doing myself a huge disservice. Read. Learn. Free Yourself. Give to someone else.

For me, the title was captivating but it read like a self help book on life albeit the writer playing witty and replacing life/self with pussy. Or maybe I was the wrong gender for the book. Your pussy only wants the best for you and the people who love you. And again, there is this: "When you have to decide something or are wondering what you should do to remain in your power and on the path to pleasure, ask your pussy. Greet her, praise her, lay hands on her and simply ask what it is you’re thinking about. Listen to her and remember what comes up. Follow her lead. It could be as simple as what you should eat or what you should wear, or as complex as if you should stay in your current home or choose a certain job. Allow your pussy to remind you to be bold. Let pleasure guide you. " I think the writer was by large into attention by sprinkling the name 'pussy' unnecessarily in the book. But it's not that flat if you replace that name with 'self.' You could end up with a self help read. Even as a man.

Conversations on sexuality, emotions and desires are not commonplace especially in the Afrikan setting. This has encouraged shame around womanhood and all women/girls do is to find faults with their bodies. This book focuses on helping women deal with the shame perpetuated by the patriarchal society they live in which has led them to neglect their bodies and as such failed to harness their divinity and holy femininity through their most natural and powerful pleasure centre. It is not an extraordinary book but it gives women the snippets on how to regain their natural power and harness it for their own pleasure and that of those around them. My key takeaways are the methods of clearing energy and begin healing as well as the reminder to fully and deeply feel all the emotions in your body so as to be able to experience your truest self. I would recommend the book for every girl/woman. However, I was disappointed by the many typos in almost every page of the book. These typos spoil the juicy flow of the book as you read through.

Fantastic little book, but I wasn’t really sure how to review it without coming off as having a bias. When I initially started reading this book I almost closed it and placed it to my “Maybe I’ll try it again pile” because the author came off as a hater of men, but I decided to give it another chapter to see if it changed my mind and it did. I’m so happy that I continued to read it, it’s a book on empowerment, rediscovering/discovering who you are as a divine woman. Initially I saw in the book the same as many others except for saying womb it says Pussy, but the truth is it’s a lot more than that. It’s a quick read and it’s an important read.

Considering the fact that this book is geared toward an audience that might not be knowledgeable about their vulva’s anatomy, I think it’s important that the author present her rituals as rituals that can improve the reader’s mental or spiritual health, as opposed to rituals that can potentially improve or cure certain diagnosis (e.g. fibrosis, etc). This book was a great journey into connecting with your self. Understanding your feminine energy and boldly claiming your right to experience pleasure in every aspect of your life, not just sex. I love the title of the book and the freedom in freely talking about my pussy. It is a quick read but an even better nugget to chew on from time to time. Glad to have these prayers on my shelf. The first half of the book is part bio, part encouragement, part instruction to get in touch with our vaginas. The second half are the practical steps and exercises to get this done. It wasn’t what I expected but it did make some good points and made me think about a few things.
