Flighty omega Wesley Sparks always thought his grandfather’s stories were just that… stories. When his grandfather’s death leaves him with a strange, precious ruby, he becomes a target of an otherworldly darkness, forcing him to face the truth: the mythical Gemstone Guardians are real, and he’s the newest recruit. He finds temporary safety in the small, secret enclave of Diamond Falls, where he learns to harness his gem and finds others like him. Others like his childhood best friend… Daniel. Sweet alpha Daniel Anderson is haunted by his missed chance at love... Lonely and jaded, Dan pours energy into his donut shop. But love can’t keep a business afloat, and Dan needs cash--fast. When he gets a mysterious invitation and a chance to save his business, he doesn’t think twice. What could go wrong? An ancient evil gathers... Dan has been dreaming of Wes for ten years, and can barely believe it when they meet again. Their reunion sizzles, prompting Wes to look at his old best friend in an entirely new light. Dan won’t let this second chance escape him--but can best friends turn into lovers? The gem awakens a dormant omega gene… Suddenly and unexpectedly pregnant, Wes and his ragtag team of Guardians must master their gems before the danger falls upon them, and he loses everything he never knew he wanted. This knotty story contains an excitable guinea pig shifter, a smoking-hot shower, a vampire librarian, and one big, hard, long… tower. Complex and fascinating world building. Wonderfully interesting people. Sweet and sexy romance between Dan and Wesley. Loved the magic system and how Guardians worked together as a team. Excellent debut for the new series!

I think that this is the beginning of what will be a great series! It's a quirky blend of Power Rangers/Harry Potter/Captain Planet/Sailor Moon ensemble-type stories, where each person is the chosen holder of a certain gem, each with different powers. Wes and Dan were childhood friends, and are reunited when they run into each other on their way to Diamond Falls. They were close when they were kids, but had drifted apart. They have a few stumbles on the way to their HEA, and I wish they had communicated a bit more in the middle of the story? Each of them thought the other was leaving and not coming back when they had left, which seemed unnecessary. I thought when they were together it was great, but they just needed a bit more communication. I think this world of humans, shifters, vampires, witches, you name it is very interesting. I wasn't super clear if humans know of the existence of all of these Supers, as they are called, and I hope there will be more world building as more characters and couples are introduced. The Void is the Big Bad in this series, I can't wait to see how everyone will work together to finally win. Looking forward to more couples and the rest of this series! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

So lovably ridiculous. "By the power of the light, I choose to fight!" I can't help but love this one. So lovably ridiculous. "By the power of the light, I choose to fight!" I can't help but love this one.

A bit of a rough start for a series, but interesting enough to continue on I found several things in this book to be a bit melodramatic - like the "spell" all of the guardians have to chant, in unison apparently, you activate their gems...it was a bit Saturday-morning-cartoony to me; especially since they also get nifty costumes to go with it. The book also seemed to contradict itself from omegas rarely becoming pregnant, but still having heats, to it being unheard of for an omega to become pregnant.

There was more chemistry between the vampire the sun yet we got this couple that had little interaction with each other. Just so basic. I will read the next book because I do think this story can get better but if not I will call it quits. I caution people whenthey read this. It is a huge contradiction in that it is both amusing and boring at the same time.

This was such a fun read. Sailor moon but M/M. The only thing that was a little corny and rushed was the romance. At 42% was when the MC'S met for the second time. Just don't make it a series.... altho there are some exceptions for me when the world is interesting enough) so I won't be reading the next book, but this one was fun and made me laugh a couple of times. Oh and I was confused about dan and wes being an alpha and omega when they are both suposedly human? There's no explanation as to why humans would classify themselves that way of for what reason. And there's a contradiction on the omega pregnancy thing. First saying its unusual then saying its only possible because of the gem, so it was unheard of omega's getting preg. So yeah that was a little confusing too.

With the death of his grandfather he's passed a ruby by him and to remember the tales of beings and guardians he was told when he was a kid. That night everything changes from the eery things he sees as he travels home to the guinea pig that suddenly talking to him. Traveling on a train to diamond falls where he's getting an up and close view of the void he meets his old friend Daniel. Between meeting the other guardians and figuring out How to work his diamond he's still wanting to reconnect With his friend. Daniels just trying to keep business afloat before all manner of strange things seem to be occurring since he set foot on the train but one thing he's desperate to do is reaquaint himself with his friend and crush. Okay I was really looking forward to this book, and I just loved it. At first for the first few pages it was a little download overboard and seemed to come at you with little pause. I didn't really get the emotion from a character passing though of course we didn't know him so I was a little anxious on how the rest of the book was going to go but I never should of doubted as it was absolutely brilliant. When your being bossed by a little guinea pig I had to have a chuckle at poor wes expense. I really liked Chester as a character and enjoyed that he was not your typical shifter specie and I'm hoping for more of him. The buildings and city was well detailed and the overall plot was good. I liked that it made me anxious and on tenterhooks with the void at the beginning where I was shouting for wes to just drop his bike which is a sign of a good read when I'm shouting at a character as if that's going to help😆 The book had a fated mates theme though there was a little angst as well. I would of liked a bit more detailing on the other guardians but of course I'm just being impatient but will have to wait for each of their individual books. I'm hoping in the next books maybe there be a bit more detail of the guardians history as well. A funny sweet read with some nice little snippets Chester huffed. “It’s not like I’m a sea monster, you know! Jeez, never seen someone so scared of a little furball in all my life!” and I'm looking forward to the next

I enjoyed this story, and it is different from what I have read before. Wesley and Daniel are the main characters in this book from a small town called Arksea. A great series starter I really enjoyed this. Wes and Dan were great characters and the storyline flowed well from beginning to end. I don't know about other readers but I would swear there was a total Sailor Moon moment and if so would that make Dan Tuxedo Mask 🤔. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. 3 stars “It’s like a mix of a magical Fab 5 meets the Power Rangers with a friends to lovers/second chance MPREG romance” *I received this an ARC and voluntarily reviewed this book* This is the first book in the Love in Diamond Falls series which will follow a group of 6 “superheroes” through magical challenges and love. Fate throws them together and the rest, as they say, is history… well it isn’t that smooth because we have The Void working against the superheroes and drama at every turn. I really liked that this book was like a gay version of Power Rangers. They even “morph” into their superhero alter ego. It was quirky and funny. I liked that each of the superheroes are standout characters that have their differences and strengths which is like a motley crew come together despite their differences- think the breakfast club. I’m never a big fan of MPREG in superhero type situations. How is that superhero supposed to raise a family and dash off a moment’s notice? I guess superheroes have families too. Overall, it was a cute little read with some magic and mystery. It was an introduction into a new world and I am interested to find out where this author takes us next. Next up- Topaz.

This author has been a hit or miss for me... I started with the Vale Valley series and moved onto this one... which I find I am about to basically reiterate my previous reviews... confusing at times, lack of what I feel should be important info, a few typos, and a somewhat disjointed timeline... and really didn't see the whole "mpreg" thing coming or even how I feel about it overall. I always like it when we have a snarky ginger... or blonde... or brunette... Yeah, I just love snarky! LOL!!! I really felt like with as many pages that we had, I would have been a little more informed about certain issues, but hopefully, that will change when I read Edison's book... Topaz Heat

DNF 51%! I loved the other works by this author and with this being one of their highest rated books with an interesting concept I couldn't wait. However, I felt like we were handed a ton of characters without much backgrounds on anyone. The names all started blending together, but I told myself that since there were so many guardians I would get it eventually. After reading over half the book I still only knew like three characters. This book also didn't really focus heavily on the romance. I m DNF 51%! Not What I Expected from the Preview The story is so much less than expected. The framework exists for a great paranormal adventure but the development and delivery fall far short of that goal. There is action and yet, I left the book feeling frustrated and annoyed with all of the characters. I see no reason to read the next book and suggest this one be left on the shelf.

Guess I should have paid more attention to my impression of the cover. I thought it might be something like S.J. Himes’ Beacon Hill Sorcerer series, but it isn’t anything like that. The story’s confusing, repetitive and needs someone to proof and edit the text. Also, it seems to be aimed more at young adults, which I’m definitely not. I’m amazed I managed to get halfway through before giving up.

Really disappointing. I loved the premise, the humor, the characters. But the execution fell short. Things were brought up and then forgotten, the plot was set up to go one way and then quickly veered 180 degrees the opposite. Vital world building and plot points were glossed over and never explained. Could have been great, but wasn't. Don't even bother.
