Not my favorite This book is depressing, infuriating and downright disappointing. I am a fan of the author but not of this book. Female H is annoying, irresponsible and needs professional help. Maybe this happens later in the book but I can’t bring myself to finish it because everything happened way too quickly and they said the I love you’s way way too fast and yeah. This just wasn’t for me!

Samantha’s most emotional story to date. Pack the tissues!! Absolutely a RITA contender romance, and worthy of 10 pollen coated, petal blooming, You are My Sunshine stars. LOVED it!!! Whether you are a seasoned Samantha Christy fan or a brand new fan girl...YOU NEED THIS BOOK! Samantha Christy kicks off her sizzling new romance series with a seamless segue between the ball field and the ball of fire just delivered by NYFD firefighter Sebastian "Bass" Briggs. I'm not even sure where to begin with Briggs. He is quite possibly my favorite SC book boyfriend to date! The capacity of this man to continuously put the needs of others above his own needs was astounding. From his decision to drop out of Juilliard in order to eventually become a firefighter with the NYFD, to his response to the young woman with the sad eyes currently on the helicopter beside him, Briggs cannot ignore his intuition of being "called to action". There is something about flower lovin' Ivy Greene that speaks to him, and he is determined to spend more time with her, even if he is in Hawaii on his Honeymoon! Briggs and Ivy provide us with a love story that is so real, raw, captivating, heartbreaking, and powerful that you will not be able to put it down. You should plan on shedding tears! While there are plenty of smiles to be had, the road to this HEA is not an easy one. Both Briggs and Ivy come to Hawaii with loads of baggage, and it's not the kind that gets checked at the airport. Tender-hearted Briggs won me over from page one; he's just THAT guy....the one that Disney has told us only exists in fairytales. He's seriously the stuff that every woman's fantasies are made of. We fell for him in Stealing Sawyer, and he runs away with our hearts as he tries to hold onto Ivy Greene. He's a chart topper ladies!! Beware. Ivy Greene is an unforgettable heroine, and her pain nearly ripped me to shreds. I wouldn't wish what she's endured on any woman. Her story is one of immense hope, healing, and the power of love. If anyone deserved a HEA, it was Ivy. Gosh...she winds herself around your heart like a vine. My heart ached for this woman!! The way that Briggs was with her....SWOON!! She NEEDED him, and the devotion he felt for her. It was a magnificent love, second only to the love Ivy had for...... This emotional read beautifully blends a new cast of characters and wonderful stories yet to come, with old favorites from previous works. Out of the many things that we can cherish about a new SC book, how amazing is it that she gifts her loyal readers with cameo appearances by our favorite heroes and heroines? I love that we never lose them! Samantha's ability to capture our attention, and our hearts with her soulful writing style and characters we feel connected to continues in The Men on Fire series. I highly recommend you delve in with a book buddy, some tissue, wine and chocolate. This makes a fabulous book club discussion piece as well. Lots to mull over and discuss. It's a truly remarkable story and one that you definitely won't want to miss!!! It's her best work to date. I LOVED EVERY MOMENT WITH BRIGGS AND IVY!

“You are my sunshine. My waterfall. My puddle in the rain.” Ivy Greene has endured pain that no one should go through. EVER. Sebastian Briggs has a lost heart searching for closure. Cute story as usual - hard hitting topics - still hate the non communication brought to the table. It's not like it happens this way in real life. Would have been a 5 star read for me if it was more of a reality type scenario. Did like how there were several scenes of Bass is action with the firehouse. I really enjoyed those - didn't enjoy the second half of Ivy's story, was boring and very annoying to me. Did love the plot twist at the end though that made it a 4 star for me. I don’t think the words exist to describe how this book made me feel. There were moments of profound sorrow and sadness, complete and utter frustration and beautiful happy endings. This book made me feel it all. I couldn’t put it down and never wanted it to end. If you have read any of her previous books, you’ll love the cameos of old favorites and a further look into future Men on Fire.

Samantha’s tagline of “Real. Painful. Love” had never been more true than with Igniting Ivy. This book has great chemistry between Sebastian and Ivy from chapter one. The healing power of love surrounds these two through their journey. Everything I want to say is a spoiler, so I will just say you HAVE to read this book for yourself!

In true Samantha fashion she brings all the feels and then some. Ivy endures something no woman should have to and while in Hawaii trying to find herself Sebastian is brought into her path. As a firefighter, Sebastian wants to break down her walls to save her. But the question is, can he? “Sometimes it only takes one day, one moment even, for everything to change.”

I have enjoyed pretty much all of Samantha Christy's books and this was no exception. It is full of such heart and feelings. While Bass and Ivy did have "insta love", it somehow worked for me. I did, however, get very frustrated with Ivy halfway through the book. I don't want to give spoilers, so I am going to be pretty ambiguous. What she had went through was absolutely AWFUL. And what she had to face was salt in the wound. But I really did not agree with her decision. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Was going to give a 2.5 stars. I did not like this book at all - didn’t like the premise - so 17 years old teens lose and child and have another right away - because maturity at 17 is where you make the best decisions and the whole - who is your real daddy at the end - stupid and unbelievable. I have liked the other books by this author but this book rubbed me the wrong way for the whole book. Wished I hadn’t read it.

Most of the time I don’t mind insta-love, but this one was a little too quick for me given the painful past that Ivy was experiencing while vacationing on the beautiful island of Kauai. Ivy just frustrated me to no end. Nobody should go through the sadness and loss that she did. But, she just kept pushing Bass, the kind and attractive firefighter from NYC, away. And, he just did nothing wrong. Gorgeous and patient Sebastian Briggs. Sigh. Also nothing could make for a more beautiful setting than Hawaii, which I visited for my own honeymoon almost thirty years ago. Cascading waterfalls. Majestic mountains. And, miles and miles of beautiful beaches. The surf. The sand. And, the sunsets. Oh, who could forget the exquisite flowers??? “Daisies gonna make everything better”. Ms Christy writes alll about these things as Ivy and Bass come together romantically. Unfortunately, a debilitating disease once again threatens the people Ivy loves, but there’s a most unexpected twist that changes everything. You won’t be disappointed by this author’s most recent release. I just had a few teeny tiny issues. And, the gang from a few of the author’s other series makes some surprising appearances too. And, how about that cover?? Perfection!

I own every one of Ms. Christy's books both in print and on my Kindle App and Ivy will be no exception. As with all her other books, I expect to read it multiple times. You will laugh, you will cry, you will just feel good. I admit there were several times while reading the book that I yelled at the book (making my son give me strange looks) because I knew what was going to happen before it happened. I don't know if that was because I've read too many Romance novels (If that is even possible) or watched too many Hallmark movies. Don't worry, there were several surprises I didn't expect as well. If you know Ms. Christy's books, you know friends from previous books will make appearances so you can see how their lives are progressing along with "veiled" references that will make you want to read the Mitchell Sisters books again. Wink, Wink, think about the titles of those books. Be careful ladies Bass may become you new favorite.

Ivy tells Bass it can only last while in Hawaii. He’s in love though. He hopes to change her mind in the eleven days they have left together. He also hopes to find out why she is so sad and he hopes to help her heal. (Big tasks to accomplish in 11 days!) In order to not ruin this wonderful story, I’m going to leave my review here and stop writing about the actual story. I HIGHLY recommend this one! You will NOT be disappointed. This is book 1 in this new series, but if you enjoy this one, go back and read Samantha’s baseball series to meet characters you touch on in this story. You’ll definitely want to read more about Bass and Aspen’s relationship. I forgot to mention... Bass is a a firefighter!!!

4-4.5 Stars. Cryptic review to follow. Honestly this absolutely could have been a 5 Star for me and I love the way it ended. But “the time between” was way too long and made me feel like the end was rushed and tied in a bow. And no mistaking, it was a great ending. Just rushed. I feel that the same end game could have been reached with the resolution happening sooner than it did. That would have tipped the scales for me possibly even beyond 5 stars. Bass’s ex in-laws still gift him with the honeymoon to Kauai he and Brooke were meant to go on so after 9 months he finally decides to take time off his firefighting duties to get away.  Being solo on ones honeymoon cannot be easy but what he doesn’t know is that his life is about to change yet again…. Ivy is broken… She is numb to everything but her dreams… Her dreams are consumed by love, loss and heartbreak. She will never be whole again. How can she ever be happy when she has lost everything? Not once but twice? In her 24 years of life, she has gone through so much pain. A pain that no one wants to endure.  Her parents send her to Kauai on vacation to heal but can she forget? Can she become what she once was? Her stories are full of life, love, humour and so much more. She writes from her heart because when you read her work, you can’t help but feel the passion and the all-consuming love and desire.  Her stories are well thought through and the information about places, sport and professions are very well researched. I actually learn a great deal form her books. You cry, you laugh and you fall in love with her books. The duel P.O.V’s of her characters are perfect! Thank you Samantha for yet again another fantastic story. I am so happy that I found your books. They have given me so much joy!

3.5 Stars I'm a big fan of Samantha Christy's books. I absolutelly love her series, especially The Perfect Game series. I was really looking forward to Igniting Ivy! This book was absolutely amazing. A rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Great to see old faces back in the book again too, Dr K sneaking in too. Samantha knows how to keep you involved and engrossed. This touches on a very difficult subject, but handled and written brilliantly. Tissues are a requirement. “Daisies gonna make everything better” 😢

Can't finish this. Stupid, stupid, selfish Ivy. Lying to herself, lying to Bass. Pretending it's to spare him. What BS. Suck it up woman. Can't finish this. Stupid, stupid, selfish Ivy. Lying to herself, lying to Bass. Pretending it's to spare him. What BS. Suck it up woman.
