I am afraid there is absolutely nothing to salvage between those covers. Not only is the story line even more feckless and contrived than the blurb makes it sound -- no life whatsoever, let alone: personal charm, attaches to the protagonists, owing to their nigh incompetent drawing, with a worrying lack of the kind of businesslike details in the absence of which the sheer exaggeration of their respective station in life stood pretty little chance of passing muster for any readers but the most cl I am afraid there is absolutely nothing to salvage between those covers. This novelette, short as it is, tends to ramble in quite the same fashion as the style, or, more accurately, what passes off for style in this author's eyes; for any page opened at random yields a considerable bouquet of weird turns of phrase and terrible slang, along too many trite or cheesy inflections. Here is a little selection, culled from the very beginning: "to most, a twenty-year-old running a nightclub might sound insane. Trace had been born with an independent streak a mile wide to two fathers who owned a bar. He’d been helping out in the industry for as long as he could remember. Being a businessman ran through his veins. Trace didn’t know how to fail" ~"the world was still his oyster, and nothing tied him down" ~ "he loved looking at snow through a window (...) Otherwise it could suck dick" ~ "it was like Hunter triggered something inside Trace, flipping his flirt button to the on position" ~ "Trace’s brain fired on all cylinders. He loved making other people smile" ~ "there wasn’t anything Trace could pinpoint that snagged his attention, but damn. He was interested" ~ "something shifted in Trace’s chest. He’d never been the type who could stand suffering. His dad claimed it was because he had a soul of gold. Trace didn’t believe that. He just thought if a person had happiness to spare, they should". Finally, the story is not, in my eyes at least, even remotely romantic, given the lunacy of the basic formula it boils down to.

How is his relationship with his father? No idea, they have almost no interaction on page. I hardly get to know the characters because I have know idea what they are thinking or feeling. I still know nothing about their relationship or about them. Why didn’t Hunter want to be seen with Trace? Three months are covered with 3 or 4 short text conversations. There was no way to bond with the characters because I didn’t get to know them at all.

Just like her Sugar Daddy series, I don’t think the author understands the concept of “Sugar Daddy/Sugar Baby” yet, after so many books “about” the kink. And let’s please talk about the amount of times the author decided to write “damn” or “goddamn” on this book. On my fucking God. If I had known there would be so many I would have counted them. Maybe I will some day. Their romance is insta-love (which I despise) and it moves in a timeline of literally 6 months, without counting the 2 months they separated. Separated by a stupid ass reason because these two don’t communicate whatsoever (Hunter is older and kind of an hermit, he also works during the day so every time Trace asked him to go to his club, Hunter would say no (along the fact that Hunter has very low self-stem and he couldn’t stomach seeing Trace at the club surrounded by hot, younger men) so naturally (or not) Trace thinks Hunter is sorely ashamed of them together and leaves it at that and they separate even when it was clear that Hunter has no self confidence whatsoever and the age gap is considerable. The “let’s sit down and calmly talk” part of a relationship dint occur to them...but then again, they have been together for only 3 months. Fast-forward (but not too much, just 3 more months), they reconcile, some hot sex ensues and suddenly they are...MARRIED. So really, they have been together for not even a year and they are already married. Like I said, the romance part of the book is unrealistic, fast paced and all over the place. Btw, don’t get excited by the “Daddy” Trace spills out during sex towards Hunter; It never happens again. (‘:

2.5 stars. DNF at 87%, I don't think I've ever given up so late before, but I just didn't care enough to keep going. It was just way too OTT for me and it really needed editing. One paragraph was maybe twenty sentences, all of six words or less. Lane was suddenly overwhelmed by pain and/or bi-polar after being presented as a party boy for the entire book. Hunter needs counseling for a lot of issues, not a rich kid who would be unlikely to be ready for all the issues he has. Trace was basically r 2.5 stars. 2* content warning: drug use, addiction, self medication of mental health issues and mention of suicide. Maybe I would have liked the book if there weren’t the word Kinky in the title and the words daddies and babies in the blurb/description of the series. Now I’m just super disappointed because there is no Daddy kink and no kink at all I could identify. It’s an ok read if you’re not too picky. The back and fourth and lack of communication is quite annoying.

2 stars This was kind of a hot mess. Insta attraction was good. Attracted to friends dad-good. Aaaaaaand then it crashed and burned. The first 3 months were off page because the MCs had a fight and 20-year-old Trace was telling a friend that he was in love! Wait..what? Where the hell did that come from? There was no chemistry between the MCs. The characters were shallow and boring. We don’t even find out what Hunter does for a living until almost the end of the book. 3-3.5 Cute. But not truly kinky. Hot yes. Kinky? Not so much. Dirty talk? You betcha. Trace is a sweetheart and Hunter is just existing. They are sweet together and if you are in the mood for some steamy fluff, dive in. Side note-I feel like I would want to be best friends with Trace's dads. Other than (view spoiler)[the obligatory break up (hide spoiler)] this was fun, and I am looking forward to Lane & Walker's story. 3-3.5 Cute. But not truly kinky. Hot yes. Kinky? Not so much. What happened?!? I loved the Sugar Daddies series and have been looking forward to the first Sugar Babies book. But this was a letdown. First, there’s definitely no sugar or daddy or sugar baby here here - there’s a 20-year-old with money and a 40-year-old without much of it, but there’s no wining or dining. There was very little depth to the characters, unlike the characters in several of the Sugar Daddies books. There was very little plot development and the whole book felt rushed. I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+ 3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B 2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D 1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Clearly young enough to be his son, Hunter can’t shake off the feeling that they are meant to be together. Fate has a way of drawing soul mates together, and Hunter and Trace are destined…if only Hunter can let go of the age difference and let Trace care and love him…for always. Kinky Baby is a spin-off of Charity Parkerson’s Sugar Daddies series, that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!! READ THEM! Sugar Babies is a flip of the kink, where the younger man cares for his “daddy”. I was a little unsure if I’d like the change up, but once again, Charity has proved to this reader that love is love regardless of age or gender. Loved and highly recommend! **Received ARC for honest review**

When I saw this series was about younger men taking care of their daddies, it's like sign me up! I couldn't wait to dive in. Trace! Oh my gosh! I totally fell in love with him from the getgo. He's so confident. He's amazing. Hunter, he has a few hangups with becoming involved with a younger man like Trace, younger than his son. Things are bound to go wrong and they do. Trace😍😍😍 This series gives a little twist to May/December romances. Where the younger characters are more of the alpha male goodness we’ve come to know and love. That being said, I honestly can’t tell you who I loved more Hunter or Trace!! I adored them both and the way they took the time to figure out what they need to do to make it work. Perfect series opener. Absolute joy to read. Can’t wait for more!!

This novella didn't do much for me. There wasn't anything even mildly kinky in this story (unless you consider an almost 25 year age gap "kinky"), and Trace was the total opposite of a sugar baby (he was the rich one after all). The writing was at turns too simplistic or too purple, the characters were flat, the growth of their relationship - if there really was any - happened entirely off page. I won't be continuing with this series or this new-to-me author. This novella didn't do much for me. Trace and Hunter have chemistry but its a slow start to romance. It does not help that they have different stressors going and other hopes for the relationship, so when Lane cause drama. The relationship is shattered, and then they walk on eggshells with each other. It took a while for them to have a chat about their relationship, although I wished it happened sooner. I enjoyed the scenes between them. I am bummed we did not see Hunter meet Trace's family. Trace and Hunter have chemistry but its a slow start to romance.
