A Courtship to remember is a sweet and absolutely pleasant read from author Bridget Barton, who is a master at wring clean and historically accurate characters and Regency setting. I love that the focus is on the couple without at mountain of manufacture conflict and angst. Highly recommended for readers who prefer clean and well-written romance.

DNF = 1* This is one courtship I hope to forget. Which is unfortunate as I was very hopeful. A regency with a faked relationship that turns real should have been up my alley. And in general it was so I soldiered on even though the writing drove me nuts nearly from page 1. The editing was dreadful too. Still I did get 70% through before the idiocy of the characters just got to be too much. The good: Elisabeth and Anthony were nice and respected one another. The rest: - I kept having to check it was a DNF = 1* This is one courtship I hope to forget. Which is unfortunate as I was very hopeful. The rest: - I kept having to check it was a regency as actions were inconsistent with that period. But the Prince Regent is mentioned at least twice. - Elisabeth’s mother had considered divorce in the past. Mentioned entirely casually despite the fact this was essentially impossible for women to achieve at the time (only 4 in nearly 100 years) - Elisabeth’s sister needed a slap. I hated every page she was on. Annoying and pointless. - somehow Elisabeth and her sister are attending ton events without a chaperone. - endless and repetitive internal monologue. It felt like padding to get extra $$ from KU. - words spelled wrong, missing, or used incorrectly. - chapters start and end at odd breaks. For example they go to the opera. Lots of detail before and during the opera and then suddenly the next paragraph has Anthony dreaming. I honestly wondered if he had fallen asleep at the opera. Dream ends and chapter ends. Next chapter starts and he is waking up from his dream at home. Why was the dream in the opera chapter? - inconsistent typesetting. Author needs to pick a single style and stick with it.

Great I found this a really good book. Elizabeth and Anthony are both great characters. Elizabeth loves her music but doesn't wish to marry as she would prefer to be a composer and if she had a husband then she could not be a composer. Anthony is utterly humiliated by his first love after he proposes to her and she refuses. He comes up with a plan to get her to return to him with the courtship of Elizabeth but what he doesn't expect is to lose his heart to Elizabeth instead. Lord Anthony Cavendish, Baron of Bedford, wanted to marry his true love Diana Lambert, daughter of the Viscount of Somersby, but she laughs at him and embarrasses him in a painful rejection of his proposal. Anthony is devastated, so Felton Nicholson, his best friend, convinces him to go to London to take his mind off of his bad experience. He of course meets Elizabeth at the ball and they agree to a plan that could be beneficial to each. He will pretend to court her to make Diana jealous. In return for her cooperation, he will help Elizabeth with her music goals. It sounds like a well thought out plan – until things don’t happen quite as expected. I really loved this story line and the characters were wonderful. Do they find their happy ending? Do each reach the goal that makes them truly happy? Grab your copy and enjoy!

A book that I enjoyed reading, two people that for different reasons get together to help the other out only to find that maybe what they really want is each other. I will be reading again at a later time.

Beautiful love story I just absolutely adored this story! It was such a fate twisted story that you just kept hoping would work out for the best. What I loved most was that it focused on the good and the positive, not the downfall of the scorned woman. It was such a positive story to read!

Although the main characters Elizabeth and Anthony met and agreed to a sham courtship, I loved how they were always their true selves. As the courtship continued and they got to know each other better their friendship blossomed. Anyone with eyes could see how compatible they were. Slowly Anthony started to recognize the difference between his "true love" and Elizabeth. There was no comparison. It is also interesting that in the beginning all Elizabeth wanted was to pursue her music career without marriage that she felt was a hindrance. So, the plan was Anthony to win back his first love Diana and Elizabeth to be courted to stave off others so she could concentrate on her own plans. No one ever expected them to fall in love. When Diana returned to Anthony's life it caused unfortunate changes between him and Elizabeth. But in the end, I admired how Anthony dealt the blow to Diana that he no longer loved her but loved another. BAM!!! It was great and quite satisfying. The extended epilogue gave me great delight to read. It just ten years and chronicles Elizabeth's, her sister's and their parent's loving relationships and children. It was wonderful to read. I highly recommend this. It has all the good feels of a sweet and loving book.

The guys and the girls would banter back and forth and it could be quite humorous. The characters were delightful, fun and engaging. Even the servants were cute and approachable, the way they took care of Anthony was wonderful. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book is about two people who want to keep what they had before friends and family decided to change things for them. I enjoyed reading how the characters personalities grew and changed throughout their relationship. The book was told from each characters point of view which gave the reader insight into the choices made throughout the story. I didn't give the book more stars only because I didn't agree with the reveal at the end. Excellent I don't know if it's just because I had such a connection to a previously read book, or if I just am not in the mood for a novel such as this one- but I did not feel the pull to this novel that I normally do when I am reading a new novel. I will definitely have to try again later.
