I really enjoyed the first book in this series. At the same time, I thought I found a new author for me since the first book was my first by Willow Rose. As a result, I was eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. And, then, I read the next book. While the story/murder/mystery and the characters were well written, I found that it is a CLIFFHANGER! I HATE CLIFFHANGERS WITH A PASSION! There have been authors that I have read for years and were automatic buys for me. And, then they started I really enjoyed the first book in this series. While this book was available on KU (of which I am a subscriber), it is my firm belief that CLIFFHANGERS are nothing more than ploys to get the reader to get the next book. When you write a good book, such as this one and the previous one in this series, it is not necessary, IMHO. One star has been taken off my review because it is a CLIFFHANGER!

A quick read was this book with short snappy chapters. Eva Rae Thomas, the former FBI profiler, now helped her boyfriend Detective Matt with cases when she was hit by a deja vu. A killer was copying all the cases she had worked while in FBI till it reached closer to her home. My first book by Willow Rose, the story started with 3 prom girls disappearing and soon led to a great merry-go-round by the killer with no distinct MO. I liked how the main character was played using cases from her book. Ha A quick read was this book with short snappy chapters. I liked how the main character was played using cases from her book. Had it not been a few unforseen circumstances, the killer would have gotten away. Eva Rae seemed well suited for this role; her past and present were amalgamated well. In spite of being second in the series, I could read it just fine. I liked how hints of previous book just made me long to get to it. Then came my niggles, a bit more of active investigation would uplift the story. The reactions of the characters felt slightly off. The book ended in cliffhanger. A suspenseful mystery, a vengeful intelligent killer, and my need to get to the truth made this a 2 hour breakfast read.

I love the simple, colorful cover for What You Did by Willow Rose. I am a sucker for a cover that draws me in. Also, the setting, Cocoa Beach in Florida. Eva Rae is an FBI profiler, my kind of character. She’s been on the hunt for her long lost sister, but right now the three women reported missing will have to take priority. Her, and her cop boyfriend, Matt Miller both have some heavy baggage they carry around. He is a single dad and she is a single mom. Four girls went to the prom…only one came home…and where Willow Rose goes from there is the reason why I grab every book I see of hers. A couple of pages into Chapter 23, I saw what was coming and it will be devastating. Willow Rose tends to have lots of action in her books and a lot of it is very, very bad. Her sister…things don’t go the way Eva thought. I don’t think there is any good way to predict what happens when a family member has been kidnapped. I was surprised, but that is a Willow Rose trademark. She definitely keeps me on my toes. Eva Miller finds herself in a situation where all her training and experience in forensic psychology will be of no use. The baby…so, so sad…this part is based on a true story, and, if you are anything like me, you will want to google it… but that’s all I can tell you so I don’t spoil it. I love that Willow has her character writing crime novels too. Her serial killer book lays out the four typologies: lust, anger, power, and financial gain. Which one is she dealing with in this case? I’m not telling. The action…from beginning to end…is filled with mystery, horror and fear that never ends. The biggest downside to the novel…the cliffhanger! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of What You Did by Willow Rose. See more at fundinmental

Badly written, containing graphic, over the top, violence. But to top it off, ends with a cliffhanger. Had I known that I would not have started it. I will not be purchasing the next book or any other Willow Rose books. Cliffhangers are just a cheap attempt by authors to sell more books

An entertaining and compulsive book. The idea that a profiler can have their skill turn the tables on them is interesting. The kids, with the exception of Alex are realistically written. He’s a bit overdone, but I am sure there are children like him all over the place. Good story. Interesting characters, well written dialogue. Lost a star for the ending. Loved it until then..liked it afterwards.

Eva Rae Thomas is back in this second installment of the series with missing girls, a dash of romance, and a body count that keeps climbing higher. Not for the faint of heart, this book lays bare the horror of kidnapping and the aftermath which ensues. I honestly can’t stop reading these stories.

Weaving a story I would truly like to see inside the creative mind of Willow Rose. Every one of her stories has the same helter skelter vibe to it. I truly wonder if her real life has any similarities to her make believe world. Certainly hope book 3 isn't far behind. That freaking ending!!! Okay that's all I will say about that for now. This author has a lot of action and mayhem, intrigue, oh crap moments and too much more to mention. You have flashes to the past which are supposed to help you understand what's going on in the present, giving you the back story. That's the whole twist and turn, the dark and gritty style this author has which is what brings you back for more. This style is what makes her books great reads which ends up being a mindfu$k type of read. Her blows in her books are hard and dirty and they will knock you for a loop. She doesn't hold back or sugar coat it, the worst of the worse happens to her characters. As long as you know that in advance you can kinda sorta prepare yourself. The thing that can cause a stirring is the number of things going on and the fact that they tend to be a bit over the top and cause you to stretch to stay in the groove of the story. IF you are the type of reader who doesn't care just wants a great story you are in the correct place because she will definitely make it worth your while. In this case this ends in a cliff hanger. Yeah I know and it's a doozie and in my personal opinion just wrong. While she does state on the other books that they are standalone she doesn't state it on this one so I really can't complain. Personally I wish I could give this 3.5 stars but since that's not possible I will have to do a 4 star review.

The actual mystery was interesting (if a little bit scary) but be warned you will want to get the next book because it has left it on a cliff hanger. Eva Rae is called in when three teenage girls go missing after attending there prom night. With not clues or a ransom note things don't look good and even Eva is struggling to come up with a reason. Did they just run away? The another young girl is found tangle up in a playmate in Eva's own backyard. Warning bells go off in Eva's head and not just because the girl found is a friend's daughter and she had been brutally attacked. Both cases make her think of past cases she had worked on as an FBI agent but the perpetrators had been killed or caught. Can she work out who is terrorising the residents of Coco beach? And find the missing girls before it is to late? And which other cases will be copied before then? I liked the narrator she has a pleasant voice that is easy to listen to.
