3.75, but rounded up. There was quite a lot to like about this. Firstly, the concept was pretty cool and quite original. One day a huge percentage of the world just disappears. Those who are left begin to undergo a transformation into a range of supernatural creatures and are forced to adapt to their new life, but with no explanation of what's happened and why. Most of this happens in the past, with only a few flashbacks, and I would have liked a bit more explanation of the whole thing, but I appr 3.75, but rounded up. I liked how self sufficient she was and her survival skills, but the whole kick ass aspect sort of came out of nowhere and she was a bit too do-goody-sweet. Bror and Ristan were pretty standard RH make fare really. There are two more men who we get the odd pov from, but they're not reunited by the end of the book. It was pretty much insta love, but at least there was a pretty good explanation for it. Upon reflection, I think 4 stars is a bit generous considering my enjoyment level, but I'm leaving it because, for a RH, the concept is quite original.

I really want to like this book. The concept is super interesting, but the pacing is all wrong. Everything seems super rushed. There is no development character wise. Everything is just not quite there. It can almost be there, but it never hits the mark.

Disclaimer: I am not the intended audience for this genre. How I found this novel was purely by accident. The cover and blurb had a mysterious vibe, which compelled me to read the sample pages. The rest of this review will be spoiler-free. The strong point of The Change is the protagonist Bristol. She is a strong character with a sympathetic backstory, something which any decent story should have going for it. She is a survivor, forced to be someone she's not meant to be. I feel that the author tapped into a deep-seated feeling to bring Bristol to life. Well done. As for the mystery surrounding the who, what, and how of this world gone "strange", I am a definite sucker for stories with mysteries and do not find the lingering questions throughout the novel to be a problem. A writer should never give away all the secrets, and Ms. Aisling doesn't ruin the suspense with rushed exposition. Do I recommend The Change: Earth Realm? Yes, but with a caveat. You, as a reader, should decide carefully beforehand if you like reverse harem stories and or urban fantasy adventures. Both genres can be too niche for most casual readers, which is the intended audience for this book. The Change wears its themes proudly and doesn't appear to put on a disguise for broader appeal. As I said in my disclaimer, I not a typical reader of either genre. Yet, I am willing to explore stories outside of my comfort zone, so long as the writer is skillful, the characters are fascinating, and the world engaging. I happy to say, this story has all three going for it. Five stars from me! Bravo!!

I start by saying I never read a first time book by an author and loved it this much! You can tell that Ms Aisling gave it her everything and probably a piece of herself. This book grabbed my attention from the first couple of words and kept me intrigued throughout the entire book. Great story progression with amazing characters development. Be ready to blush some as there are some hot chemistry between the characters. This book is a top contender to be on my favorite list. I personally cannot recommend this book enough and I cannot honestly wait to see what comes next in book 2. Yes..definitely an author to follow.

These characters are amazing!! It was nice to see that the MC's friends actually continue on with her throughout the story. I feel that with a lot of reverse harems the friends get easily forgotten but these ones play a larger part in the storyline. I think that the idea behind the reason of the apocalypse or other world altering events is very creative. It gives the story a different twist and definitely adds more suspense for the readers to see how the MCs are going to play the game. I can't w These characters are amazing!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was very well written and flowed smoothly. Can't wait for the next one. If you like a good fantasy, dystopian, adventure this is for you. The heroine is a badass goddess in all things! Bristol wakes up in a world that is drastically different than the one she was raised in, all alone. She quickly adapts, finds others like her and they go on a journey to see if they can't save their world. There is love, sex, adventure, death, all along the way. This book took me away to a whole new reality and gave me a great break from the grind of every day. It moves along at a great pace, making it an enjoyable read. The characters are great. They seen so real, that you feel as though you have known them forever. The story is awesome and will take you away for a few hours in which you can just relax. This is a must read, there is no doubt about it.

Debut novel Rating 3.5 This is the debut novel for this author. It's a apocalyptic /dystopian novel. This book features alittle bit of everything. Vamps, shifters, gods etc. It's an story of a group on a epic battle. The book started off slow to me and was a bit of a slow build up. The harem is built over time in the book. There are some great battle scenes as well as some great relationships. I really like the friendship that was shown in this book. Debut novel Rating 3.5 This is the debut novel for this author. Different in a Good Way I love a good post apocalyptic book with a fight between good and evil. Though the trope is a common one, the author created a unigue world and plot. I really enjoyed the story surrounding the characters. The book was a good length but I can't wait to get more insight to the motivation of the gods and what is different in this reorder (this won't make sense unless you read the story). I have to say I liked this book a lot. It was entertaining with a very interesting premise. I won’t go too much into that premise, because that would ruin the story. The sex scenes might not have been to my taste, but this wasn’t written for men - I wasn’t the intended audience. But the story was very entertaining - it held my attention as I read about Bri’s journey. It’s definitely worth purchasing! I would give this a solid 3.5-4 out of 5!

Great read Debut book for the author and wow. The plot is intriguing and well developed. Lots going on, my mind was constantly being blown with each twist. Loved the characters and their stories. The book allows the relationships to develop naturally without rushing past anything. Book 2 is going to be epic.

That was an amazing book. I read it with kindle unlimited and had to purchase it right away. Bristol was a female that I admired. She took everything in strides when it came down to her situation. Her loyal knights Ristan and Bror were just swoon worthy. I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers especially when the next Book isnt out yet but that was a good point to stop at. I didn't realize this book had a bunch of erotic scenes to it but if you like sex in your books, this is the book for you. Aisling does a great job with those scenes and they're pretty vivid. I didn't like how our heroine, Bristol, trusted and instantly went to bed with her "Others" almost right away. The attraction seemed hurried and Bristol is super trusting. I'd expect someone who went through the same trauma she did (insert Dave here) to be wary of strangers. Her bond to her friends is strong but at times they seem to fade into the background and the only character besides her "others" that really gets developed is Jessie who is a little annoying. Jayson falls to the background and goes with the flow and Boz seems to just be hanging out, waiting for Bristol to use his power whenever she needs him. Ristan and Bror are everything you'd want in a male lover, made by the gods for Bristol, they definitely act "cookie-cutter." On the upside, the storyline is compelling and fresh but the characters repeat each other so much that it became a little frustrating. Still, I would read book 2 because I'm interested in seeing how this game plays out and what happens to Bristol.
