I have never used the word ROMP. But this applies to Gregg Bell's lighthearted fun read. There is non-stop hilarious action from rather dubious characters. The plotline is consistent without a bunch of glaring holes. The characters, although slightly off-the-wall, are well developed. I highly recommend this read especially in a day and age where there are just too many serious events. Take a break from the world today and jump into this Misadventure. You will be glad you did. I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I honestly loved it! Three de-sealed Navy Seals are trying to be re-instated. Their dubious President orders them on a mission, but cuts them to two. They do their best. They’re trigger-happy, inept, and enthusiastic! Hilarious and enjoyable. Recommended.

Yippee Ki Yay-A-Navy is non-stop action with a twisting plot full of fun that makes it hard to put down. As I was reading I found myself out loud over the antics of Shelby, Earl and Bull. This group was constantly in trouble leaving major destruction behind to solve their problems. I felt that this was the best book in the series and highly recommend reading it.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (with excuses to Sergio Leone) “Delightfully incompetent” would appear to be an oxymoron, but in the case of Shelby, Earl and Bull it fits the bill. As usual, in their valiant attempts to do their patriotic duty, the three misfits leave chaos and destruction in their wake. Sniggering and chuckling throughout, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I can't imagine how their power to make any situation worse, will manifest next... Shelby Ryder, Earl Bernstein and Bertha "Bull" Gompers are SEALS who have been deSEALed due to their participation in a mission that went wrong. Shelby was simply trying to seek revenge against the Russians who torpedoed her parents! Um, it might have failed?? They lost their SEAL Status. They desperately want to be reSEALed and regain their proper position in the Navy. The President tells them that he knows who Dansbury's killer is...The Dark Cowboy. It's their job to find him and smoke him out of wherever he is hiding and bring him to justice. With a formidable fighting machine called the Sea LIONS - Sea Launch Immediate Operational Naval Squadron, on his trail, the DARK COWBOY'S days are numbered. This is one of the most hilarious books I've read and your senses of humor, sarcasm and wit will be stimulated! This is book three in this NAVY non-SEALS series and is even more entertaining when read after the first two! Gregg Bell's wit and silliness have never been better!

If that is the kind of book you like, then this is the book for you. Three de-Sealed Seals are given a chance to redeem themselves by carrying out a special operation for the President of the United States, who promises to have them re-instated if they carry out this mission successfully. The three are a bit suspicious as to the motives of the President but don’t want to miss an opportunity to be re-instated. As things will have it, they find themselves without backup when they get to their destination in the Superstition Mountains, and having to rely on their own decisions to get the job done. As they are quite inept at this, they go from one hilarious disaster to another. SILLY, ZANY, CRAZY, WEIRD, HILARIOUS- YES. BUT I LOVED IT . And I think the way the book ends, leaves it open for Gregg Bell to delight us once again. BRING IT ON.

He has a mission in mind that can only be handled unofficially. The leader of a militia is responsible for a killing in DC. The president needs the man captured or taken out but he can’t use official channels, and possibly have it come back on him. If Shelby and Earl can pull this off, the President has promised to have them reinstated as Seals. What about their leader Bull? As an over eighty ‘old lady’, she is deemed too old to return to duty! Shelby and Earl just don’t feel comfortable without Bull around to organize and give out orders. They decide the mission is too big for just the two of them and go about recruiting for a strike force and bring Bull back in to take charge. After rigorous training they take their team of diverse former civilians and head for the Arizona desert. Will this team of misfits be able to tackle a highly trained militia? Will they get resealed? Or will it end up like their other missions with the trio heading back to prison? I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I found Yippee Ki Yay-A-Navy to be more realistic and understandable than the other books. I don't know if that is because I am more familiar with the characters and their antics or that the book was just more believable. I enjoyed reading the book; I found it easy to get into the story. The characters are all complete caricatures, and the situations they find themselves in are definitely worthy of high farce, leading to plenty of laugh out loud moments. It is probably worth reiterating a warning that I gave in a review of another book in this series, and that is that this is a comedy, it isn't meant to be in any way a representation of a serious Seal team or operation, so if you're looking for a military thriller then please look elsewhere. For a comedy though, it is definitely recommended.

After reading the exuberant positive reviews about the 2 previous books in this series I was a bit disappointed with this story. Well, we're all entitled to our own opinions and some parts were really funny, other bits seemed rather artificially wrought as in "oops I still need some jokes for this bit as well, so quickly think of something funny". I think that the best jokes and gags have been used up in the 2 first books and that it's really hard to keep up the same quality later on in the series. It's the action and story-telling bit that I have most problems with, that was rather mediocre with large holes in the plot and a story that goes sometimes too fast and then too slow. Earl Bernstein one of the main characters is a real jack-ass, so that character has been worked out well enough to leave an impression. Shelby is a little bit smarter, but no big light and doesn't run from danger. Octogenarian Bull is a gem, it's she that usually saves the day (or makes the problems? no, they're all 3 specialists in that field!) I got a free arc from the author and this is my honest review.

This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last. It's a fun, adventurous book with a cast of colorful characters and an entertaining story line. He does a fantastic job developing both his characters and story line and kept me reading right to the end. It's a fun, adventurous book with a cast of colorful characters and an entertaining story line. He does a fantastic job developing both his characters and story line and kept me reading right to the end. He brings it to life with his vividly painted scenes and kind of reminded me of the old TV sitcom McHale's Navy which I loved as a kid. It's a laugh out loud story I loved reading. Well done!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

The 'Keystone Kops' like former Navy SEALs return for the last chance to redeem their valor and be reinstated. The President, himself, has tasked them with a manhunt. "Dead or Alive" bring in the Dark Cowboy, an enemy of the president. [where have I heard that before?] He is said to be hiding out in the Superstition Mountains. Come on along and see how our heroes travel over land and water to get their quarry. [No, I'd better leave the rhymes to Earl.] Recommended. Shelby, Earl and Admiral Bull are summoned by the President to undertake a super secret mission with the chance to become seals again! This time they are on a dangerous mission in more ways than one! They tackle militiamen, scorching temperatures and the dry desert air and all the critters that live in the desert! This was an edge of your seat, nonstop action adventure with plenty of humor in it. I love this series and look forward to reading the next book in the series

They are about to go on their third mission for the government. This time it is much more dangerous as they could end up being shot in front of a firing squad. Can they finish the mission? Can they do it right this time? Follow their adventures

Not worth my time I made it through the first chapter and quit. Seriously? A former Navy Seal that says yes to a mission because he's tired of standing, one that cries and another one that's 85 years old? Not worth my time I made it through the first chapter and quit.
