When Carmen asked me if i’d like another omegaverse,i immediately said yes. Because i liked Lockdown,an omega’s lie. This first part of a duet is situated in that world, but involves new characters. It ís however just as dark. And,it took me a bit of getting used to,but it really fits for this story,it’s written in the present tense. Eliza was raised an alpha by her alpha mother Juniper. When the enemy, alpha Hagan, tries to steal her away, she fights him with everything she has. Only to be defeated. When Carmen asked me if i’d like another omegaverse,i immediately said yes. When the enemy, alpha Hagan, tries to steal her away, she fights him with everything she has. Only to be defeated. Easily. He laughs in her face when she curses him for calling her an omega. He promises to break her and make her tell him all of her mothers secrets. She promises his attempts will be in vain. What follows is a battle of wills, where Eliza seems to lose. Acting as the omega she turns out to be,submitting to him. Because she knows he’s stronger, much stronger. But does her seemingly weak behaviour mean she’s given up? My only problem is,it was over too soon.....and that cliffhanger, ouch! I need more and i need it soon!

Looking at this book at face value, how it is written, surpasses so many - the character building, the flow of the story, it antagonists and protagonists exceptional. The reader has no choice but to become immersed, invested in the characters. That's why I have given this story five stars. I won't be reading part two, nor will I read any other books involving "lockdown." The hatred is overpowering in this book for me. I have read other "dark" Omegaverse stories, and there has been anger, disgust and even hatred but never at the Omega or her innate qualities, not like this. And how that hatred gets twisted, morphs into an obsession with mean undertones is too much for me. Again, the writing style of the author more than worthy of five stars.

Okay read The beginning of the book is very confusing. Typically Alphas are male. At the beginning the Alpha Hagan is searching for is female. The first chapter is very confusing if you think male instead of female. It’s a decent read. There isn’t a lot of plot developments in the beginning and then at the end it all of a sudden becomes more ploty. There is also some confusion when it comes to mates. I guess there are several ways if they are soul mates? It was a bit of an ever changing thing. Ov Okay read The beginning of the book is very confusing. Typically Alphas are male. What was that? The plot is vague and barely there. The story is confusing. There is no explanation of who Hagan and his brother are. Luckily, we get an explanation of who Juniper is but not why she’s doing whatever it is that she’s doing. 90% of the story is brutalizing a woman who allegedly doesn’t know she is an omega. I understand omega verse books. I typically enjoy them but this was ridiculous. I honestly have no idea what that was. And then I think it ended on what was supposed to be a clif What was that? I wanted to like it... I wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t work for me. This author just spills all the world and character building a stream of info. The characters are unlike able. She tried for that edgy dark hero that many omegaverse authors are able to create, but just created a douche. I did not finish the book.

Sorry, I really wanted to like this book but it was all over the place (writing-wise and story-wise) and Hagan was a complete douche. There wasn't one thing about him that I liked. I couldn't connect to him or Eliza or the story.

Eliza at first, is just a useful pawn in a game between her mother and Hagan. He never planned on becoming obsessed with her, but now he won't let her go! This is a great tale, dark and lusty with complete power exchange. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

This is first read for me from this author... I only had a couple of things that didn’t really click with me, was first the alpha was all over the place. Like for instance he showed signs that he would be gentle with the omega then all of a sudden there was a drastic change in the alpha that you almost thought you were reading about a different character. And second the ending sucked and I don’t mean that in a bad way just that it really left you empty inside.. if the second book comes out I’m d This is first read for me from this author... Eliza’s stubbornness and resistance to being taught to obey him will take everything he has, for she is far more cunning than he could realize, for this little Omega taught to have big Alpha attitude. Another captivating glimpse into this Lockdown universe, this time with a battle to reign between well-matched opponents. Looking forward to Book #2 with this ending!

This steamy dystopian fantasy is definitely for the adult genre 18+. A dominant alpha looking for revenge ends up abducting an innocent, maybe a little spoiled, Omega. The daughter of his enemy. Brutal in his dealings with the captivating miss, he mates her against her will although a strong and powerful attraction is there for both of them. Yet this doesn't stop her from trying to escape and return to her mother. The story does end in a cliffhanger. So I must wait for the sequel. A riveting dystopian story that ends with a cliffhanger. It’s part one and I’m eagerly awaiting part two. Eliza is a pawn taken by Hagan. There are some triggers in this story as everything is not done with consent and there are some dark themes. I found the story and the characters to be brilliantly written and mesmerizing. DNF I gave up at 34% I didn't care for the authors way of writing it was almost like she was speaking in third person I really had no clue who she was talking for in the first part of the book I don't know how to properly describe it but it drove me crazy and made the book very irritating for me.

I am not familiar with this author, so I was kind of sketchy about if I would like it or not. There is always a chance it was going to be way too dark. It had a really good balance, looking forward to the next book in the duet. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this dark omegaverse story by a new to me author. It was thrilling, dark and dirty and kept my attention from start to finish. I adored Eliza's strength and intelligence. I am unsure about Hagan and Caliburn is still a mystery. The book ends on one whopper of a cliffy and I can't wait for book two!
