I tend to like "bully" style books, but they have to be done right. The Hero has to be redeemable and the heroine can't be a doormat. I also need to know the "reason" for the bullying and of course I have to be able to like the characters. Then the icing on the cake is that the heroine just takes it all in while mooning over the Hero. Nothing is attractive about a Hero like the one I described above and I seriously question her mental state. Plus....the heroine has brothers who just LET THIS SHIT HAPPEN??? What the actual fuck? Where the sense of loyalty....or hell, even human decency??!! I should note too that I read (and LIKED) Untouchable by Sam Marino so my tolerance level for bullies is quite high......

She gives them second chances when they've done terrible things to her. Second chances that we all know they will exploit and they do. We need to stop romanticizing bullies. The love interest isn't just broken or effed up in the head, he is one of those people that just cannot be fixed. Some of the things Devlin does makes me sick to the stomach and yet all is forgiven because of the sexual attraction Crystal has for this boy that calls her a "Darling Dog". Which by the way I don't understand, the first time they meet Devlin has a girl collared like a dog and is getting her to kneel for him. But he didn't disgust as much as the scene where he and his friends kidnaps Crystal, tied her up and brings her to a party where he allows strangers to grope. I'm crying while writing that sentence. Because this culture where we teach young adults and readers to romanticize and condone this kind of assault is absolutely disgusting. Look don't get me wrong, I love bully romance stories, but some bullies simply cannot be fix. Devlin is a hundred percent one of them. And it's going to take a wonderful writer to change that. I wanted to scream reading this book. I pray that Crystal grows a backbone in the next book. Because to sleep with a guy who allowed men to sexually assault you a few days before? She said no when he was coming on to her a number of times, before giving in to this "magical" bully attraction crap and it disturbed the hell out of me. I'm honestly begging the author to give Crystal a backbone, to send Devlin to some kind of therapist or better yet give Devlin a taste of his medicine in book two.

The family doesn't lose money but they will try and regain their status as Kings of the school as back in Manhattan - nobody messed with the Dolce family which includes our main female lead Crystal and her brothers King, Duke, Royal and Baron. The thing though is that there already is a family that is ruling the school of Willow Heights - The Darlings and they aren't just about to roll over and let the Dolces take charge as The Darlings rule the town of Faulkner - they are old money. These Darlings are another breed of bullies though as they divide the school by two - the Darling Dolls and the Darling Dogs. Crystal Dolce gets on their bad side and becomes labeled as a Dog, but their bullying takes a new level when they kidnap her. OMG, it was so intense and then when Devlin's mum played into the bullying, I was like WTF. Will the Dolces end up getting their revenge on the Darlings and become the new Kings of the school or will they realize they are out of their league with the sadistic Darlings? Bully Me also ended on a massive cliffhanger, that now makes me want Book #2 to hurry up and be released.

I think that a usual bully-book reader knows how to distinguish a good bully romance from bad one. Unfortunately, this is a bad example of a bully romance.... there is a slight difference (not always definable) between redeemable and nonredeemable bully. Devlin is a terrible guy, he is so cruel and unlovable that I cannot understand how Crystal liked at least something about him. I even don't know who I hated more - Crystal or Devlin. The book felt like written because this genre is trendy now and everyone thinks that they are able to write a good bully romance. You cannot write in the description that book is dark and then write any rubb*sh you want... dark should be justified, violence should be justified or at least understandable, but this book... nooo... thank you, no more... and actually, the FMC should be tough as rock in order to understand hard violence towards her (like in J Bree "Just Drop out"). *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Crystal and her four Dolce brothers move with their father who is starting a new job in a small town in Arkansas. They get a new life, new home and new school. They are used to being top dogs and expect that at the new school... The other students don't quite fall in line though. Those Darling boys think differently and don't want that to happen. They want to remain at the top of the school and with the football team. They don't care who gets hurt in the crossfire as long as their world stays the same as it has been, well since forever. What ensues is a lot of revenge type tactics to one up each other between all the guys, but then that leaves Crystal vulnerable and available to be pounced on. Do high school kids actually act like The Darlings? Some of things they did were horrible and their Momma should smack them upside their pretty little heads. I mean how much more demeaning can you be. Dogs or Dolls -- You pick! It's all pretty sick and messed up. I'm not fond of any of them. I'm not sure how you can redeem yourself after those acts. Did they plan to have Crystal be collateral and be a payback for what her brothers did the entire time. They most have known that she was their weak spot. I do like most of the Dolce boys though. They were family strong. They didn't back down and took a stand. How they didn't know what was going on behind their backs though is crazy sauce... How did they not know? This book ended in a cliffhanger and I will be reading book two just to see what happens with that part of the story. I'm not really invested in any of the characters at this point.

Bully Romance This is not your typical bully Romance. They were the kings and queen of New York. Then their father moved them to Arkansas. The Dolce name meant nothing. Darlings were old money and owned the town and the school. It soon became a fight for dominance. Crystal is caught in the middle. This book ends with someone missing. I love and hated the guys in this book. I hope Selena writes fast lol. I cant wait till book 2.

While the storyline does focus on two families feuding, it also has this forbidden bully romance aspect between Devlin and Christina, the two main characters. 2.5 stars! I will preface this with the fact I have pre-ordered the next book. I want to see how this author takes this book to make the H even remotely redeemable. Practising football into the night to show he has issues does not a hero make. Crystal needs to get her bullying backbone back. Not that I condone bullying AT ALL, I was in fact bullied for years, but the Darlings are the epitome of bullies, and while the Dolces have done their fair share, it seems the Darlings are on another level. Selena really knows how to grab her readers attention and not let go. The sexual tension in this book was palpable I loved every minute of it. I did notice the format of the book wasn’t to great and there were some pretty big gaps in between the pages and the text was off sometimes. But otherwise This will definitely not be my last book by this author, and I need book 2 like now. Because that ending? Dear god. • Crystal is a rich girl from New York. She is head cheerleader and has everything she wants.. but she is not happy with her life. She hates who she is and wants to change but she doesn’t know how she’s stuck and lost and after an incident leaves her feeling like the devil she’s become she needs to get out of New York fast before she completely loses herself, so when her dad gets a job opportunity in Arkansas her and her 3 over protective brothers have to move with him. • The 4 of them are definitely not used to change so the three brothers plan to run the school and be on top as soon as they arrive. This small town is nothing to them so it should be easy right? Wrong. This town is old money vs new money. And old money has a lot more pull then their money. • Que the 3 leaders of the school. Colt, Preston and Devlin. The true kings of the school and they won’t let anybody take there place at the top. The difference is Crystal doesn’t want it. But can she really disappear fully from the spotlight when she has been at the top her whole life? Especially if Devlin has anything to do with it.. he wants her and he’ll do everything to make sure she is his. He’s not scared of her brothers and nothing will stand in his way. Even that means absolutely degrading Crystal and making her the Darling Dog. Devlin found her brothers weakness Crystal. And now? He owns her. Body heart and soul. • I would rate this book 3.5 - 4⭐️ ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I liked that book. On prima vista the story is like comedy in Saturday night. Nonstress, little bit funny - normal teenage life. Hotest guys, girls, all famous and glamorous at school. But all that thing is like a fuckin' mascarade. The book have two big top moments - the "kidnap" and the culmination. And they both are so intensive because of emotions, no metter if the emotions are negative. You can be hopeful, inlove, calm and in one second become scarred, curious, feel like one big nothing. I gave 4 stars, but this book deserves 5. I just wish it was more intensive, with more breathtaking moments at the edge. It is a perfect begging of the series. I can't wait to start book 2 and see what's comming.

Crystal wants no part of it though, she sees the opportunity for a fresh start, but she's about to find out she's a pawn in a game she doesn't know how to play. Devlin Darling, ruler of Willow Heights prep and star quarterback is also a depraved and psychotic human, but there's something about him that pulls me in. We catch a glimpse of who he is when he's not around his cousins but whether that's an act or not is to be determined in the next book. Some of the things he does Crystal will have your blood boiling, they are completely unforgivable and he deserves a knee to the junk and then some. I found myself wanting to shake Crystal for letting her body rule her way of thinking when it came to Devlin and his abusive actions. Devlin and his cousins have no morals, they do what they want with no consequences and the Dolce family want to take them down and teach them a lesson. The secondary characters were just as strong as the main, I loved all of Crystals brothers especially her twin Royal, he's fiercely protective of her and will do anything to make sure she's ok. The story was well written and after that ending I'm both excited and scared to see what follows. Just a shame the next book isn't out until December 2020....

What a read.. amazing Wow.. my first read from this author I saw it by accident and I am so glad that I didn’t not skip this book. I have no words to describe this book, it was just so amazing and such a page turner. From the very first chapter the book just sucks you in and you can’t stop reading it to just not only find out what happens at the end but what happens throughout the whole storyline. Crystal was such a food character and although she was strong in most scenes I believe that she did not show her full potentiometer in this book as it will be shown in the next book where she shows everyone how strong and badass she truly is, after all family is everything to her. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to everyone to read it and not skip it. I can’t wait for the next book, as soon as I finished this I started following the author for any updates that’s how good this book is and it’s going to definitely get much better in the next one!!!

I have to say that I was done with the school romances bedore this book, but this story is a huge OMFG! Crystal and his brothers move from Manhattan to Arkansas, some one would say that they will rule over the school in a few hours, but the Darling Cousin are in the top and will not leave their place. This is a dark romance in high school with incredible moments that will catch you bearth, Willow Heights is not an ordinary town school, is a wild jungle. It's time to start over. A new town for a fresh start for the Dolce family. With a new house, comes a new school "Willow Heights preparatory academy" and this is where they meet the Darlings. Who will break first, and at what cost? Move over The Montagues and Capulets. These two waring families bring pain and punishment to the next level. Down right devious behaviour to gain the upper hand left right and centre had me waiting for the retaliation that I knew was constantly around the corner. Trust no-one for nothing is sacred! He's no lovesick Romeo, though he is devastatingly delicious just with a mean and callous streak. She's not quite Juliet but comes close in parts. Her body controlling her rather than her mind. Two amazingly dedicated families who are not on the same page bring many a clash and a lot of adrenaline fueled excitement! The more I read, the harder it was to come back to the real world. This is a very addictive read!

I decided to read this book on a whim. This is the first time I have read anything by this author so I was not sure if I would like it or not. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Its another bully romance, which I have read a ton of lately, but the story line is unique and interesting enough that the idea is not stale. The only complaint I have is that it ended with a cliffhanger. I actually really liked this book more then I thought I would it's abit different then some of the other bully stories I have read so far which is actually a really good thing for me. I really liked the characters they weren't annoying as some characters from other series similar to this have been. I did feel that Crystal was a little 2 gullible however my only disappointment is the second book won't be out for about a year from now and I really need to know what happens next soon lol. Bully Me is the first book to the start of Willow Heights Prep Academy and it's worth every every star. This book is so intense I couldn't;t sit it down and when I did I picked it right back up. This story will keep you on your toes and have people thinking your crazy as you talk to the characters like there real people. It's the good. I am dying of anticipation for book two.
