A fascinating read... ‘The Highland Raider’s Conscience,’ is the ninth book in this series and was a fascinating read. Both characters brought out the very best in one another and their love story was incredibly sweet.

Slow reading Predictable it was slow. Needed some action not just at the end. If you want predictability this is readable. I will not recommend.

From there, their journey has a quite of bit of action to it. This story keeps you engrossed in it. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end for them, so I'm hoping the next book in the Highlands Warring Series reveals if he returns. I have read all the books in this series so far, and am looking forward to the rest. Anne Morrison writes extremely well. I recommend this book.

It was a wonderful story with a lot of action, sword fighting, riding and burning. Eleanor is a postulate since her parents died a year ago. She has nowhere to go. She is nineteen and as innocent as the new driven snow. Lachlan MacTyr has been a warrior all his life. He has fought for Robert and now is fighting for himself. This is well-written, moves smoothly and an easy read. The characters are lifelike and so true to what you think people might act in similar circumstances. They are exciting, loyal and try to help where they can. The author has done such a good job with this novel. I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Anne Morrison has fast become one of my favorite authors of Highland romance books. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one as well, it's fast paced and held my interest throughout the story. Eleanor lives in a cloister after having lost her family and home. One day her quiet life is interrupted by a Highlander named Lachlan who is at death's door. She is asked to take care of him in a small secluded cabin (being a male, he's not allowed past the cloister doors) and after weeks of recovery, Lachla Anne Morrison has fast become one of my favorite authors of Highland romance books. Lachlan decides to kidnap her and it's quite the adventure they go through while trying to catch up with a man who is impersonating Lachlan and leaving behind destruction. I do highly recommend this book! I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I enjoyed this latest addition to this series. Lachlan McTyr is a raider along the border. He is double crossed and left for dead at the gates of a cloister where a postulate names Eleanor. Eleanor had lost her parents a year ago when a group of men invaded their home killing at will. As Lachlan heals, the two grow close. This all ends when the head sister catches them in bed sleeping, sharing their warmth. Eleanor is beaten and is rescued/kidnapped by Lachlan. Will you be a victim or will you fight back! The night they dumped a man, near dead, at the gates of the convent, Eleanor was living her life as a victim. Her family brutally murdered before her eyes and with no other place to go, she had slid into the roll as a postulate with little to look forward to. Uncaring of herself or her future until she looks into the eyes of Lachlan and knows she has to do whatever it takes to save him. As he heals so does her will to want more.
