In the aftermath of “City of Bane,” the Dark Knight has found himself cold, alone, and missing one of the very foundations of his life as both Bruce Wayne and the Batman. But personal problems will have to wait-a mysterious series of deaths have been peppered throughout Gotham and it seems an element of the supernatural is at play in the form of a monstrous pagan spirit. Bruce is coping with the loss of his best friend while continuing to do his work as Batman even though Bullock would rather him leave them be. It does seem the other cops don't mind the extra hand for the most part. This issue also seemed especially violent but what can you expect when your murderer is out here performing pagan rituals. Overall I enjoyed this one Bruce is coping with the loss of his best friend while continuing to do his work as Batman even though Bullock would rather him leave them be. This issue sets up the new mystery very well !! There are mutilated bodies found " Decorating " a tree in the park . Batman spots a symbol that indicates a sacrificial offering has been done . Batman , as Bruce Wayne , is about to fulfill a hundred year tradition by lighting the Christmas tree , when the scene is attacked by the one who made the brutal sacrifices in the beginning of the story !! One of my favorite Detective Comics. A Norse god has descended on Gotham. Batman is trying to deal with the consequences of City of Bane. The art is amazing and I am looking forward to the next issue.
