Carmen Hunter is a new author to me,and Lockdown sounded like a story i’d like. So when i heard she was looking for an ARC ,i felt it was a good opportunity to get to know her. This is a short story, the first part of what i heard will be three books. It introduces us to Purslane, who at first glance seems to be a beta. She’s caught by the enemy, and tortured to give up the path her king took when he stole their Omega. Determined not to break, she holds on by a thread. She worries what will happen on Carmen Hunter is a new author to me,and Lockdown sounded like a story i’d like. Overall, this is a story with promise,a dark tale that i enjoyed and definitely want to hear more of.

Omegaverse and reverse harem are two of my favorite genres, so when they are put together it's an incentive for me to read a book. This is my first contact with Carmen Hunter. The story is about Purslane, an Omega woman that conceals her nature and pretends to be a Beta. The world depicted seems to be kind of steam-punk, at least the territory where the story takes place; the h was a visitor from a different territory (supposedly a more civilized land), representing them as an ambassador. I don't want to give spoilers, but the h is a victim of a political plot and ends up as a prisoner of four high ranking alphas. There is some roughness to the story, nothing extreme, which is usual in omegaverse books; there is knotting, purring, growling...all the delicious, filthy ingredients of the Alpha and Omega equation. Lockdown does end in a cliffhanger, so it is part of a series. The copy of the book I received was not completely edited and revised and it shows in the flow of the story; because I was warned beforehand, I understand it's not the final result, but I do hope the author takes care of that, because the story is promising and there's a potential there. This is an author I will follow, specially if she keeps writing omegaverse. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thanks to the author for this ARC. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish as this book wasn’t for me. I will not rate as I didn’t finish the book.

Gosh I love an Omega verse story just as anyone, however I also like them well written, not words just thrown onto the page. Unfortunately this book was very much the latter, where nothing was clear and everything was very confused. I found it tedious to be honest and with a not very clear setting, could not get into the story as much as I had hoped. All high hopes dashed. I hope so, because with good editing this book would be an interesting start to these characters and hopefully more will be built on them.

Lockdown I went ahead and read the book knowing there was no HEA. There was an ending but it wasnt the usual cliffhanger. Carmen took you over big time knowing and waiting. Ive already read Omega City Lockdown. I love Omegaverse stories. This was a five star. Now i get to read more. Thank you Carmen.

I WAS SO FUCKING LOST WHEN I STARTED THIS STORY. THIS WAS THE AUTHOR'S PERSONAL GUILTY PLEASURE. I DON'T USUALLY READ REVERSE HAREM BECAUSE I FUCKING HATE THAT THERE'S NO FOCUS. TOO MANY PARTNERS, RUIN THE WHOLE PLOT. MY FAVOURITE ALPHA WAS THE FIRST ALPHA....SADLY I DIDN'T LIKE IT. THERE WAS NO FOCUS. IT WAS MAINLY SMUT. AND THERE WAS NO PLOT.

I am a bit confused - Is there a book previous to this one? I am actually going to reread this before leaving a rating and final review ~ the first read left me a bit lost when comparing the blurb to the story line - besides the fact they intended to torture (with no mercy) and break Purslane until they got their answers The world building was there - The characters were diverse each hiding their own secrets This IMO was not a reverse harem (Yet?) - yeah four alphas sexually used an omega but it wa I am a bit confused - Is there a book previous to this one? I am taking into account that this is a first in series and as such I may have misinterpreted or missed altogether subtle clues

i loved this book! and i cannot wait for the second to be published. (cannot. wait) seriously, lockdown has everything. a strong omega. a harem of damaged alphas. lust. betrayal. and questions. so many questions. this was my introduction to carmen hunter. and i’m impressed. she’s built a world within the omegaverse that feels fresh a new. but don’t worry, it still has all of the things that make you love the genre. it’s just got this cool post-plague, athens/sparta thing going on that i find intr i loved this book! and i cannot wait for the second to be published. Without suppressants, the Beta captive Purslane will not be able to hide her true Omega instincts while taken captive by the four enemy Princes of na'Asisrah. However, Purslane may have an even bigger problem at hand: the attention of the princes, who cannot seem to keep their hands (or teeth) off her! All they want is their sister back. And they will use every means at their disposal to get the information they need from Purslane. Looking forward to the next installment!

Omegaverse keeper This, like most omegaverse books, is not for the faint of heart. It is dark and twisted. Full of delicious Alpha aggression. It can be hard to handle and even harder to stomach. There are times I felt like I needed to stop reading it (if only to show support of Pur), but it was a compulsion to keep reading. I had to see and know more, like a rubber-necked at a scene of a crime, I had the same sick desire to know what would happen to Pur the four Alphas. True villains that remind me of the Alpha of Ms. Addison's omegaverse series. You'll love to hate the. The little dark part of me is just jumping up and down with excitement with this series and is hoping more is one the way.

I love M/F omegaverse so this book was right up my alley. The book hits several omegaverse kinks right on the nail. I think that this story shows a lot of promise however there’s still a few syntax and grammatical errors that pulled me away from full submersion while reading. The characters and world building are interesting and pretty fleshed out for a shorter erotica story. If you like M/F omegaverse fantasy you’ll enjoy this. On the fence I love dark romance and esp omegaverse but this book was a bit confusing as it jumped around a lot. It was hard to get enraptured in the book. The wording was kinda funny and it could have been gone over again for clarification purposes. It had a nice idea behind the story but the execution was poor.

This is a brilliant start to a series and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book even though at times it was a bit dark. The author has done an excellent job of world and character building and didn’t hold back on any of the story or steamy scenes. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. A good story. But there was no transition between scenes, so it leaves you kinda scrambling to figure out that we’re in a different scene. I did enjoy the story though and will be looking forward to the next installments.
