The first part is a fictional account of a Shaolin warrior monk disillusioned with the corruption in the Shaolin temple. He wants to leave, but he must battle 18 Protectors of the Shaolin Council. His success in such a situation is unlikely, until he discovers the 9 Scrolls of Weightlessness and receives tutoring from his grandmaster. It serves as a metaphorical framework for the mind-body teachings of the Weightle The sequel to In Pursuit of Weightlessness. This book is divided into two parts. The first part is a fictional account of a Shaolin warrior monk disillusioned with the corruption in the Shaolin temple. He wants to leave, but he must battle 18 Protectors of the Shaolin Council. His success in such a situation is unlikely, until he discovers the 9 Scrolls of Weightlessness and receives tutoring from his grandmaster. It serves as a metaphorical framework for the mind-body teachings of the Weightlessness scrolls, which constitute the second half of the book. The second half of the book are the nine Scrolls of Weightlessness. Each scroll deals with a different topic in the mind-body domain. The nine domains are: Time, Uncertainty, Change, Transformation, Weightlessness, Process, Integration, Lightness, and Mastery. The scrolls are not linear, but they are interconnected, so I would recommend reading them through from first to last before you study any individual scroll in detail. These topics offer the author's thoughts on mind-body training, character, meditation, health, and progression. He does a fine job of counseling the reader to not attempt the more advanced protocols (have you ever known someone who learned how to ride a bike by reading a book?), and reminds the interested reader to consult his first book where the protocols for weightlessness, the precursor to Lightness Training, can be found. This is welcome advice, especially in an era when people think that they are more skilled than they actually are and attempt exercises or routines that are too difficult, only to suffer injury or burnout. Both of Tom Fazio's books are great reads and are probably the best training manuals I have come across in a long time. Short on b****t and long on patience and common sense. Enjoy the ride.
