"I thought you swore an oath; first do no harm," Grayson suggested slyly. "They aren't my patients." Til moved to her doctor's bag. Rebekah Lee Jenkins does it again, with strong female characters facing overwhelming obstacles that would break anyone down until they were an ‘incurable’. Taking Til focuses on Til Stone, a strong-willed gynecologist struggling to promote birth control during a period when doing so was not well-received by society—Til has many enemies. She’s hardened by her childhood and difficult rise from the slums while studying hard to become a doctor, seeing things that only jaded her further, making her even more distrustful of men. She serves other women by promoting women’s health and easing the pain of childbirth. Til faces tragedies that strengthen her in ways that are both negative and positive. I was excited to read Til’s story, after reading The Night They Came For Til and I was not disappointed. Rebekah’s dialogue driven historical fiction is filled with psychological trauma, romance, and the importance of community support. These books promote the well-being of women and highlight their strengths, battles and wins for equality. Beautiful!

I've just finished Taking Til, the third in the Oakland series by Rebekah Lee Jenkins, and boy am I glad I did. Taking Til concentrates more on Til Stone, a woman doctor and gynaecologist who stands for trying to ease women's suffering in childbirth, miscarriage, and other women health issues, as well as promoting contraception at a time when it was really not acceptable. She has her reasons. And, as her life unravels around her, losing the only man she trusts and loves, as well as finding out her I've just finished Taking Til, the third in the Oakland series by Rebekah Lee Jenkins, and boy am I glad I did. Another hugely strong woman, whose story ties in with the two main heroines from the last two books, female lawyer, Cora, and doctor, Shannon. I really enjoyed this book, as much as the first two. Fantastic historical fiction!

REBEKAH LEE JENKINS has written a wonderful three part trilogy. Book 1 - Hope in Oakland Book 2. The night they came for Til. Book 3 - Taking Til. I am not a trilogy fan but I loved all three of these books. Although I read The Night they came for Til first (not knowing it was part of a Trilogy) - I managed to put all the story together and loved each book. Highly recommended. Each one a delightful read.
