A good read. I cannot wait for December 31st to get here cause the cliffhanger and now everything about Hazel and the boys just seems to keep getting interesting and I’m hoping what will happen to each one of them.

I have no idea why I like this series so much. I read the first book in the series because the cover was beautiful. Cliffhanger happened, so I read the next only to discover another cliffhanger. Which led to this one, lol. It's a creepy little story about bullies who actually as tormented as those who are bullied. Without giving away the plot, it is one of those stories that you think you don't like that much but it sticks with you and without realizing it you are checking to see when the next bo I have no idea why I like this series so much. I'm hoping it all works out for all the creepy revenants.

What another fantastic book in this series. I thought this was going to be the last one. I was wrong. I believe there is one more. The author needs to come on. I need it.LOL This book answered some questions, but it also opened up a whole can of worms, and now I have more questions. I hope the author is good at tying up loose ends, because I need answers. This book was amazing. Hazel was bullied and the only thing she could do isrelease it though her anger and hurt. I can't wait to see how this series ends. I hope all the terrible people get what they deserve and hazel, her men and her friends get to live happly ever after. My review ended up on book 4 instead of book 3. Still love the characters, but parts of this book seemed a little more YA than the first two, and as a result parts seemed more ridiculous than paranormal. The ending was quite the cliffhanger, though, so since I’m invested now, I need to know how this ends.

The last book in the series left us off with Hazel being sent to a mental institution. And for some reason Ayaz had betrayed her. In this book, we start with Hazel defeated, but nothing can keep our girl down for long. As soon as she realizes that she's been tricked, she starts to fight back. I love how strong Hazel is and how she doesn't just roll over an accept things as they are. She's also very loyal and loving. When people make it into her heart she will fiercely protect them. I feel such loathing for Vincent and the other parents. As a parent myself, I can't imagine anything in the entire world meaning more to me than my children. I think that's what makes them so abhorrent to me. I think it says a lot about the power seekers in the world even in our reality. Coming into play more and more is the fire that seems to follow Hazel. It's obvious she has this power and she's finally decided to embrace it and that changes everything. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

This series is getting more and more ridiculous. The rats? Bowing and nodding? Really? I have one book left. This train went off the rails a long time ago, so I'm going to stick with it to see where it lands. This series is getting more and more ridiculous. The rats? Bowing and nodding? Really? Epic as usual! So this book was totally epic. It is what I call a filler. You know when In a tv series you get an episode where not a lot happens and the the next episode of explodes...... That's what this book felt like. It felt like quite a few questions were answered but not all of them. Nothing in my eyes majorly happened until the last few chapters. Trey and the move he pulled utterly brilliant, genius idea. I'm so excited to read the conclusion to this series. Epic as usual! So this book was totally epic. It is what I call a filler. Moving right along. This book picks up with the cliffhanger from the previous book. Yep, I am absolutely hooked. I love the darker content of the story and characters. It seems like just when I think I may have things figured out, the author comes up with a new twist and puts me back in my place. With some books it can be boring and you just want to give up when a story is prolonged. Not so with this series. I am obsessed with our main characters, wanting to know everything yet enjoying the slow tease. And yes, of course this book has a cliffhanger and I swear....I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for what I'm not sure but the anticipation is awesome. The content is on the darker side ...and it's calling me. GREAT series and there is more to come. I really hope the Kings and our heroine make it out of this together.

Seriously though this series was absolutely fantastic!! At the end of each book I was left saying "wow I didn't expect things to go in that direction". And what a great feeling it is to be surprised by plot lines these days! The author did an amazing job at building the world for this series. My emotions have been beat up. Lol. The hits keep coming, the betrayals are at an all time high. Is there anyone at Miskatonic Prep worthy of redemption? From an outsiders point of view, I would say no. The Mc is ridiculously strong mentally, although I don't like how abusive she is towards Quinn throughout the series. She has pushed him down on more than one occasion, flung his arm against a wall without apology. She just seems mean to an already abused character. 3rd book Not too bad, im kidna over all the school bully romance books, seems to be a very popular concept right now. However, I will say that this is very well written and I love the paranormal twist that this one has. I cant say that im burning through the pages but its a good read.

Another ripper in this brilliant series. Has Hazel gone insane? Have her three bad boys betrayed her? An insane asylum. An escape. A deal with the devil. Fire. Lots of fire. Betrayal. Just wonderful once again. Now reading the final book in this series and cannot wait to see just what happens.

Much of what I said in my previous review applies; the story has a stronger, more complex and interesting plot, characterizations are expanded and more worthwhile, and most of the content I found a issue has leveled out or done away with. Some notes, however: Hazel is way too easily gaslighted; it's a manipulation tactic that takes a lot of time and is most effective when done subtlety with a gradual build. It was a pretty fast, engaging read overall. Some notes, however: Hazel is way too easily gaslighted; it's a manipulation tactic that takes a lot of time and is most effective when done subtlety with a gradual build. The way that she, within a matter of just a couple weeks, succumbs, and then is very quickly brought back out of it, makes the whole thing seem a little pointless. I would have preferred Hazel feel mostly sure it was real and just struggle with the seeds of doubt and have that turmoil, and it be an internal conflict as she seeks to find evidence and escape and what not, but instead she suddenly is like "Huh, yeah, I guess it all was my delusions and I am crazy" and then she has a magic dream where she talks to Trey and they kiss and she's like "Oh, yeah, guess it is all real then and I'll be breaking out of here." I just felt like this section of the plot was mostly just poorly executed and done so for an added conflict that served the plot a little too conveniently. Another thing is that there's an odd self-slut-shaming vibe with Hazel that I didn't like. She's all "god I slept with two guys who are dead and not my boyfriends, guess I'm a zombie slut like my whore mom" and I'm like why is this here and why does it matter? Especially since we're forgiving Quinn and Trey and Ayaz for sleeping with everyone for twenty years, like, come on. Also, way to throw sex workers under the goddamn bus. I mean we later learn that (view spoiler)[ Hazel's mom was fucking Dante, her best friend (hide spoiler)] which isn't okay, but like, that doesn't mean defaming sex workers is cool :/ Also, we get some cheating, I guess, or maybe "hero infidelity" in that (view spoiler)[Ayaz gets with Courtney, though I think he's had his memory altered or something, (hide spoiler)] so it's also not cheating? We have the usual triggers for language, sex, violence, etc. with this series generally being pretty NA but not like hardcore erotica. Not much else to say. Definitely better than book #1 and good for continuing the good thing we got out of book #2. I'll be reading the final book when it comes out in a couple days (though just to ensure my reading challenge is finished before January 1st, I'll probably read a standalone in the meantime and have book #4 be the first book of 2020).

Possessed: A reverse harem bully romance (Kings of Miskatonic Prep Book 3) Kindle Edition by Steffanie Holmes I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited program and am voluntarily leaving an honest review So, I didn't sleep last night because I just couldn't put this book down. It is the best in already amazing series. Ms. Holmes has once again hit one out of the park with this astonishing third book in her live letter to all things HP Lovecraft. In this entry, she goes further into his obsession with the Salem Witch trials while managing to reference everything from the movie Ben to Shakespeare to even a tiny Batman reference. Anyone with a keen eye and a working knowledge of dark pop culture and weird literature will have fun recognizing each and every reference without moaning, wailing and gnashing of teeth as something wicked this way comes. She even addresses his rampant racism. Read the book, you'll see what I mean! In the beginning, we find Hazel in the asylum, where they are trying to convince her the last few months of her life haven't happened, until one of her kings finds his way to him in the dreamworld. She returns to Derleth/Miskatonic Prep and is determined to set things to rights, no matter the cost. This is not a fluffy, sweet and spicy book. The story and the writing is dark. Not tie me up, tie me down dark. No, it is scare the pants of Stephen King dark. Ms. Holmes writing has gotten more and more creepy, like the sense of doom she slowly wraps around her readers and her characters. Plots and plans are laid among some of the most hair-raising prose I have read in a very long time, and that includes horror novels, multiple Dystopian stories and many end o the world as we know it stories. This eeriness is a nice counter-balance to the sweet and not so sweet love scenes that play out. Our heroine and two of her kings's determination is admirable and plays well against the outright selfishness that exists in the parents and staff. The theme of the uber-rich or elite taking souls is a timely piece that isn't portrayed too heavily and that sits well with the character of Hazel and the remaining scholarship students. Read this book, but make sure you can stay up all night, because you won't be able to put it downstairs 5 stars out of 5 https://www.amazon.com/Possessed-reve...
