Another great installment What engaged me in this serial novel: • The author caught my attention right from the beginning and drew me into the story with Kris having contractions as she tended her garden. It was two months before her due date. Will she make it to full term? • The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt I was a part of the scenes with Blake, Kris, and Tucker. • The pacing of the story was neither too slow nor too fast. • There was Another great installment What engaged me in this serial novel: • The author caught my attention right from the beginning and drew me into the story with Kris having contractions as she tended her garden. I am looking forward to reading more about the characters' lives. I have never read a serial novel before and I am enjoying this one. It is nice that the stories come out weekly.

Truly Wonderful The more I proceed in this series the more I am aware of what a wonderful writer the author is. She manages to convey the emotions and excitement of life in an apocalypse. I’m beginning to believe she is going to be a most favorite author of all time. Don’t miss this series and revel in the joy it brings!

This book is just as exciting as the other two. I love this series . I can't wait to read installment four to find out if they make it. Definitely a must read book and series. DC knows how to bring you into the story with the fear and the pain. You find yourself thinking, "How will they get out of this?" I received this book free and have given an honest review by choice. Series The little family grows as their options expand. Quite an interesting story so far. The characters are real and even get angry with one another like in real life. Highly recommend this book.

This series is well written. I wish it had more 'Christian' aspects to it....you do see it played out, and they do pray ( but not much of what is prayed, or little or no scripture). Nevertheless, it is clean, very interesting, good character development, all manner of survival tips. with 'some' trusting in God. Still it's a good read, and I am enjoying it. Perhaps as it goes on, the Christian aspect will get deeper. This series is well written. Mercy. Day of arrival Today Mercy was born, old friends surfaced, new beginnings for a family strained. Unsure of what the future holds, what tomorrow will bring. What dangers lie ahead. All they do know is that they will face it together.

As the third installment opens, tensions are high in the bunker as Kris nears the end of her pregnancy. Blake is still angry that a baby is coming, plus he’s terrified to deliver the child — in his survivalist mindset, all he can imagine is how much can go wrong. Kris resents that he can’t appreciate the gift of a child, and Tucker is stuck between his parents — happily anticipating the baby he’s called his sister from the beginning, but fearful of angering his father. After a hunting expedition As the third installment opens, tensions are high in the bunker as Kris nears the end of her pregnancy. After a hunting expedition that leaves Tucker devastated, Blake realizes he’ll have to search by himself for a deer big enough to sustain his family through the winter. During his overnight trip, a group of armed men and women come over the gate while Kris and Tucker are in the house playing. Although Kris is terrified, she faces down the group with a shotgun … and realizes they’re not complete strangers. Blake is furious to see others when he comes home with a deer slung over his shoulders, but in just a few days, with his family in crisis, he utters three words previously foreign to his tongue: “Grant us mercy.” And the universe delivers the assistance they need, nudging the paranoid survivalist to acknowledge that the damaged world still holds good people who are willing to help, simply because they can.

This third installment is a quick read that follows, Blake, Kris and Tucker as they adjust to living in and out of their bunker and their preparations for the arrival of the baby – as Tucker says, his little sister. With the reintroduction of some additional characters the story takes on a new direction with a final destination yet to be seen. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.

This is a very short book and the main theme seems to be contact with another group that could be allies and Blake's very persistent and stubborn paranoia. It does have a nice ending.
