My heart went out to this couple because nothing came easy for them and I do mean NOTHING! Although it was never mentioned, Stone through my eyes initially gave off some of the vibes of a man with Asperger Syndrome but as the story progressed, he actually bend and fought hard for Naima, Garnett, Cam, Talia... Mira... well everyone really that he loved and dissing the meds and therapy was a big help to his change! Yes, he did... Stone went to therapy and that alone said a lot about him fighting to make Naima see that he was serious about them as a couple! So people, read Stone and Naima's engaging story and see for yourself how the twists and turns in their story was so worth the fights they had to endure in order to get to their happily ever after! 5 stony, Stone stars!!!! ARC given for an honest review!

Thoroughly enjoyed it! TT can write a emotional romance with dangerous broken alpha hero and intelligent, sensitive yet strong heroine who doesnt melt easily when hero effs up. Loved the secondary characters. I especially enjoyed heros language. Normally excess swearing gives me a headache but here somehow I found it cute. Also heros progress in the book is commendable. I had a teeny tiny problem with one aspect. When you kill a person however evil he is, it will affect your emotional mind. But Thoroughly enjoyed it! And heroine managed it as a pro. Infact I’ve seen the same scenario happening in this author’s other books too. Afterwards they aren’t mentally disturbed, guilt ridden or so on. These women are the good guys not criminals so I find that hard to swallow. Completely safe. Recommended.

Stone was worth the wait Stone was a total surprise, I didnt think I would be able to connect to his character, especially since I was such a Rock fan. The way he unfolded in the book you cant help but adore him. I loved Naima and so glad she was able to find herself. I loved seeing them both thaw out in order to connect to each other. This is my temporary review, I'll come back to write a longer one soon. When Keane was released I remember saying ... "Who the heck is Keane"?! And ... Where is Stone's Story? Finally! Stone (and Naima's Story) has arrived. This book was totally, totally worth the wait. So, so many laugh out loud and heart-warming moments. I love this couple! I especially love straight shooters who get straight to the point. This is Stone! For now ... I'll just leave you with this truncated, but memorable quote ... Stone is the story of Stone and Naima. People who are familiar with Taylor's 50 Loving States series have already been introduced to these characters. For anyone new (Amazingly, I missed the books featuring these two characters. Off to Amazon I go!) to the series, Naima is a social worker whose boyfriend not only broke up with her recently but died shortly after. To make matters worse, Naima's recently discovered that she's pregnant by her deceased ex. Stone is the twin brother of her ex. He's Stone is the story of Stone and Naima. Off to Amazon I go!) to the series, Naima is a social worker whose boyfriend not only broke up with her recently but died shortly after. To make matters worse, Naima's recently discovered that she's pregnant by her deceased ex. Stone is the twin brother of her ex. He's curt, cold, and is the go-to man for his family business. Of course, that family business is the mafia. Naima's relationship with Stone is a stressed one. They have a bad history, yet when he discovers Naima's pregnancy he's determined to marry her. The question of the story is can they overcome his cold and insensitive demeanor, overcome lurking conflicts, and find love with one another? Although I was entertained while reading the book, the story never seemed to go far enough and as a result, I felt there was something lacking. Naima was overly needy and her feelings and fears of abandonment didn't seem warranted. I didn't buy that anyone ever truly abandoned her, not the way that she felt they did. Of course, this could be due to the fact that I'm not as familiar with this character as other readers might be. As for Stone, he was much more interesting to me. I would have loved to know more about what he was doing when he was out of the story. I wanted to see what he was dealing with and actually read about the events that led him to make the decision to take some of the steps that he did. That's what would have made the story so much better in my opinion. At the end of the day Stone was an okay read. I would love to see Theodora Taylor push further in her stories, which she doesn't do often enough in my opinion. I do recommend this book for her fans and I think it's a solid enough story for readers who are new to the author. I'm giving 3 out of 5 stars.

Mixed feelings I loved Stone who clearly was broken at a young age and was struggling to deal with life without medication. Once again Im disappointed that authors, although they are touching on difficult topics like child abuse, cannot seem to be able to accept that you can love 2 people, just differently. I dont understand why, Rock had to be imperfect (breaking up with her) to justify her falling in love with Stone. I don’t understand why, Rock had to be imperfect (breaking up with her) to justify her falling in love with Stone. I also think and I know my opinion might be controversial, that Naïma is such a good person. Actually I found her manipulative. Yes she did a great deed with Cami and Talia but she asked Stone to basically lie to his best friend and cousin Luca and abandon his family. Her not wanting to tell Luca had nothing to do with the fact that Stone is part of the mob (she married him, under supposed duress but nobody forced her to start sleeping with him etc.) but everything to do with her unresolved issues with Amber. She’s complaining that Amber let her down by going back to Luca but she ignored her for 2 years instead of having it out with her. She run away to North Carolina instead of doing what she preaches, deal with her issues and see someone. Now Stone has left his family behind to be part of hers while as he pointed out she didn’t have a relationship with them before she left New York. I guess not having Stone’s point of view made it difficult to see the whole situation but I felt she was pushing her ideals instead of meeting him halfway. Stone got the kind of family life he never had before but to me he came across as lonely without his « support system «. For instance she never suggested to him that they could go back to living in New York or split their time or anything. The last scene in the kitchen when she asked for a divorce was the epitome of her manipulative ways. Yes he hurt her but she was on her way out to find out what the issue was but she retaliated by talking divorce. He told her at the Dr office before he didn’t want one. Did this conversation also had to happen in front of Cami and her aunt?

Stone and Naima's story is finally here and it was worth the wait. These two are both broken and hurting silently. They are the ones called upon for help. The story depicted the growth of their relationship and healing in this extended, sometimes funny family, and friends. Luca and Amber as well as Keane from other novels made appearances. I liked the plot building with surprises, the foreshadowing and gradual introduction of the problems the characters faced. I could identify with Naima’s vulnerability, fears, and insecurities. I loved Stone's character development, from emotionally stilted to emotionally aware with that touch of grit that made him unique and still believable as Stone the enforcer. His dedication to "becoming normal" because of his devotion to Niama was heartwarming. His only having eyes for, only seeing Naima was touching. While I without question enjoyed this book and the characters sparked my emotions, it felt less original, less creative than some of this author's other works, in fact giving recall to the Russian Billionaire series of emotionally crippled heroes, giving heroines, and Go from His Pretend Baby. I also think the storyline would have been richer written from / including the hero's point of view. Lastly, I would have liked to have seen more homage paid to the region, NC, bringing in more of the locale, Southern culture, regional foods and specialties. Overall a great love story.

From Ruthless to Romantic Stone and Naimas story was just different to all the others in this series. As usual I like when characters from previous books make and appearance. I really wanted to hate Stone so badly Once again Miss Taylor is on point. I love her writing I love her book series I think I have them all but two. You know after reading Luca and Amber story I was really if he Don Stone. I kept wondering how she could turn him into a likeable character but, Lord she did it. I was determined to not like let alone love Stone, I said I don't care what TT does there is no way she is going to make me like that guy and then she goes and creates the most fiercely loyal without guile and open character she has ever done, there are no layers with Sober stone he is just beautiful and the way he loves Naima and their little family I can't love him or this book more. A thing that surprised me about this story is that Naima is the one who had layers. Stone & Naima is my favorite! Omg I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I even put an alarm on so I can get up to start reading this. Naima and Stone really do belong together. Stone proves that Naima is more than the nice social worker. And Naima shows that Stone is not who everyone believes. Reading this book made me very disappointed in Rock. I started to see more that wasn't told in Amber book about it. But now I really think about it, he could've worked through it. But If I had to Stone & Naima is my favorite! I started to see more that wasn't told in Amber book about it. But now I really think about it, he could've worked through it. But If I had to figure which brother belong with her, I still will choose Stone. Even when I was reading Amber book, I was hoping Stone and Naima get together. When she knee him and brought him down. I though oh there's so much more to her than people see. I love the man that Stone is reveal to be. He protective and does what Naima wants. He truley a family man and that if Naima wants something he will fully support her. There is a scene in Amber book when Naima tells her how happy she was to be with Rock. And how happy he makes her and the way Amber treats her is horrible. At that moment i dislike her. She couldve did it in a better way, esp considering this was all her fault to begin with. But she was not being a true best friend to her. Im glad in this book Amber realize what she did wrong and apologize. Not to mention Naima stands her ground when Amber tries to come for her again. And Naima was not having it. Nope! She stood up for her decisions and her man. Had me clapping my hands yelling "FINALLY! You tell her! Your life your decision! Esp all the things she did in her own life. You are not her child!" Now that they hash that out and Amber apologized for her behavior and words. I love that they're friendship is rekindle and they are tighter than they were before. There is also another part in the book that is my fav. Is when Stone interrupts Amber and Naima after they bump heads. He only have eyes for her and only her. And when she mention she never had that type attention from anyone, Rock including. It proved the point that I was making that these two belong to one another. I think my most favorite part about Stone that makes me smile all the time. Is when he's always like "Hey Naima" Lol he kills someone and meets her eyes and will say that phase. As if he didnt just do qhat he did. Base off what I read I can say I can careless for Stone mother. But the way she came for Naima, then Stone and Naima extend family, was one that made you want to demand who she think she was. I throughly enjoy Naima aunt she is hilarious. In the beginning i did not like her all that much. But later i really enjoyed her shes so funny. I really look forward to reading the next book after this one. But also im still curious about the girl in Amber book. The one that came to her house on her anniversary, to help her escape the father of her unborn child. I curious about what is to come with the next book, but also that one. But i cannot wait for her next book.

This is my first Theodora Taylor. It was recommended by an author I read and respect and Im glad I took a chance. However, if you are someone who needs the backstory to everything or likes the details, it may be a better idea to read Luca and Amber (a duet series) first. The main characters of this book are secondary characters in their story. One that is heavily referenced in Stone. The main characters of this book are secondary characters in their story. One that is heavily referenced in Stone. There is a point that even I felt a little out of the loop but I still have zero interest in the other books. You get plenty of details (almost too many) to understand the major plot points that effect Stone and Naima. What I appreciate most about this book is the major growth of both characters. Stone and Naima are flawed and broken and while I don’t believe they fix one another, they do heal together. Through their relationship they recognize their greatest strengths and challenge their greatest weaknesses. I believe this series is meant to be about ruthless men and a type of romance that isn’t the most ideal and at times troubled. These characters begin that way, very concerning and disconcerting but proximity and perseverance opens the door, not only for love and family but true acceptance and eventual understanding and growth. This story didn’t feel superficial and it definitely wasn’t conventional or typical in pacing. There’s not tons of romantic overtures but a steady progression to something valuable and special, that to me reveals the individuality of bonds and relationships. Can’t say I loved everything about this book, our heroine is the narrator and very limited. For she is frustrating where her interpersonal relationships and impressions are concerned and certain issues concerning her fears and hang ups aren’t truly addressed. While our hero is confusing and cold, imposing and even impossible but like most heroes, goes through the most transformative development, which mostly makes up the earlier problems. Definitely liked this one in a way that sticks to you because there’s a type of hope and realness that lingers throughout it. You walk away believing these characters are moving, loving and living in healthy ways, step by step deliberately, together.

Stone and Naima... what can I say? I'd been waiting for this book for a while and I was not disappointed. Readers may remember these characters from "Luca" and "Amber" although that wasn't their story as Stone's twin brother Rock was in the picture. Now Rock is out of the picture and Stone shows up under the guise of protecting Naima but his reasons are more complex than simply being concerned for her safety. Naima doesn't know what to make of Stone. She sees him as, well... stone-faced and emotionless as well as too blunt for her tastes plus she's still sensitive from how things concluded with Rock. As different as both characters are on the surface, their core personalities are that of being givers than takers. They handle things differently - Naima has tact! - but they aren't necessarily as disparate as one would think when it comes to goals and needs. Stone isn't a big talker but he's a doer and he stands by his word. Naima's a runner and not necessarily very trusting but I think that's actually what makes things with Stone so complementary. He's not about constantly verbalizing his feelings or showing his emotions like her but he pays attention. He sees her and what she needs in order to show her he's the right man for her. In turn, she starts to see him when her defenses begin to fall. "Stone" leans more angsty romance than a suspense or comedy romance. Don't get me wrong, there are sexy and funny moments in it, even a bit of suspense, but Stone and Naima are foremost broken people who learn to trust each other and then themselves. I think it's a beautiful romance in the terms of finding love but realizing that sometimes a helping hand is also needed to nurture and sustain that love. Looking forward to the final book, "Rashid," a character who readers are introduced to in the author's book, "Zahir."

ARC in exchange for a late but honest review. I didn't see this story coming. It took me some days to write my review because I had a lot to reflect on. This book was different. Let's be honest. What is Normality? Normality is not remarkable. Stone on the other end was super remarkable. I agree with Theodora. Everyone knows or is like Naima. Giving is simple but what happens when it's time to receive and you are not used to it? I don't judge her twisted relationship with Amber. I, in the first place, made plans with my friends and was so disappointed when it all went south. People change, grow apart or find other people with whom fulfill their dream. We need to accept that everything can change. I wish I also had a Stone by my side to help me understand this fact but this is another story. It could have happened to all of us. I love TT dramas but this new perspective she is giving us is damn good.

    * This is a stand alone story, though Naima and Stone initially appeared during Amber and Luca's stories. Naima and Stone's coming together is at times ugly, messy, dangerous, and reticent. Naima is endeavouring to move forward from a failed relationship, a faltering friendship and an unexpected pregnancy. Stone is grieving the loss of his twin, and dealing with how he processes his emotions, or lack thereof. Naima and Stone dance on a razor's edge of tension, attraction, and volatility. Without providing a spoiler, I can only say that I found Naima was a character of irony, regarding how she conducted her personal life. Stone was an unexpected surprise, revealing depth. I only wish that he had addressed the behaviour of his family members when he took his family to New York. Talia, Cami and Aunt Tia enhanced the overall tone of the book. Another satisfying read from TT.

Really enjoyed this one! Stone is written so well that I had actually started reading this as a preview on Amazon because I was already starting another book and ended up abandoning the other book because I couldnt stop this one! I became fully immersed into the storyline of Naima and Stone. I was like 😮 wait a minute! How is this going to ever evolve into a love story!? But this is no traditional love story. Not even by any stretch of the imagination! Wow is all I can say lol I am just totally Really enjoyed this one! Not even by any stretch of the imagination! Wow is all I can say lol I am just totally intrigued by the character of Stone. I just love him. He’s just so crazy lol How he gonna tell Naima he’s like I don’t know forty, maybe fifty percent in love with her and your heart just bursts for them? Like that’s Stone 😆 I don’t even know how to describe why you’re gonna adore him, but you will! And Naima possesses like his ying to her yang. The story is told completely from her viewpoint and we also get more insight into her relationship with Amber as well. Very well written book. It’s what I’ve come to expect from Theodora Taylor and she doesn’t disappoint here.

Great I used to love this series and then stopped reading it because I thought the books were too predictable and formulaic. But this one had rave reviews and was on Kindle unlimited so I figured Id give it a try. I really liked it! Naima was a mixture of practical, loving and hilarious. Initially I didnt know what to think of Stone. I also hadnt read Luca so I had no context for getting who he was in the plot initially but the author did a great job filling in just enough info so I could follow Great I used to love this series and then stopped reading it because I thought the books were too predictable and formulaic. Naima and Stone seem completely mismatched at first. He seemed to be completely disinterested in her and she just flat out distrusted him, for good reasons. He was so crude and rude to her I kept hoping she would jack him up in his sleep. And yet, I really loved seeing Stone fall in love with Naima in his Neanderthal way. His bluntness kind of grows on you after awhile. Liked the book so much I’m gonna read Luca now.

Naima doesn't trust Stone, for good reason. He broke into her home and abducted her to use as leverage over Amber for Luca in the previous book. During that book, she started a relationship with Stone's twin brother, Rock. He was the safe, sane brother. At the beginning of this book, Naima is alone and pregnant with Rock's baby. But Rock is dead and she wants nothing to do with him mafia family, especially his scary brother Stone who is an emotionless monster. Stone was such a surprise! His background and motivations are explained and his real self is slowly revealed. It's understandable that Naima doesn't trust him and would be unbelievable if their relationship started any other way than Stone forcing his way into her life. I absolutely loved this character development. This story has lust, heat, danger, angst and even some romance. I couldn't put it down and loved it even more than the previous book.

Great book. Ms Taylor does not fail to disappoint. Stone wow. Silent but lethal. And when he speaks you best listen. Naima and Stone have not gotten off to the best of starts-(Read Amber). He has tracked her down to the South as when they last spoke it unsettled him. Naima is carrying his dead brother's child and Stone is going to make the situation right. What a Man! Stepping up for his brother Rock, Stone finds himself in uncharted waters-his feelings- does he even have any? Doubtful! Naima is Great book. Ms Taylor does not fail to disappoint. Stone wow. Naima is going to take a lot of convincing that what Stone wants is real and not make believe. Naima and Stone have a lot to overcome in their journey but will they make it to the other side? Their road is difficult and needs a lot of navigating by Naima who is that wallflower always waiting in the wings to shine. Brilliant story.

Stone in love 😍😍😁 I know of this author and have read alot of her books before, but this is the book that brought me back. I started this one Stone and Naima and then I stopped and went back and read Keane. I love Stone and Naima's story. I like that she is a nurturer and I love their relationship together. I found this book to be humorous and the characters to be real and well-rounded. Stone it's a loving caring man who for some reason blocked out his feelings I guess for the job that he had to Stone in love 😍😍😁 I know of this author and have read alot of her books before, but this is the book that brought me back. 💭 Naima and Stones story was crazy but good. Naima takes off for a fresh start away from the mob after her exs/ babys father funeral. Stone decided to check on her and discovered shes pregnant with his brothers baby and shes his. He pushes his way into her life while taking care of her and it was weird at first with how closed off he was except for asking her if she needed wifeing every night lol. As both of their problems came to light their relationship got better and I liked their chemistry. 💭 Naima and Stone’s story was crazy but good. Stone was a provider and protector while Naima was a sweetheart. This was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to read the next book!

Please read this book! Theodora can do no wrong!! I loved Naima in previous books and hated Stone. Naima is one of those people who gives everything to the people she loves. Unfortunately that leaves nothing for her. She is trying to change that and the first step she makes for that change is to move from NY to NC. Of course there's twist, she is pregnant with he dead ex-boyfriends baby! Enter Stone the brother of the aforementioned boyfriend. 100% love Stone and Naima finally get their love story! I waited patiently for this book release, and even though I enjoyed the story, I felt it was tame compared to most of TT's other novels. Spoilers ***** Stone, despite his menacing demeanor, was actually a love-struck teddy bear who was self-medicating to deal with emotional issues. Another departure from this author's usual style, we only got Naima's point of view , which was disappointing. I would have loved reading about Stone's take on 100% love Stone and Naima finally get their love story! I already know what a few of you are thinking...Isn't this GO's story. The whole raising your brother's baby and all. Well, that is the only thing that will remind you of GO. STONE is just as his name implies Cold, Hard, Tough. I think TT is also trying to show a softer side to some of her Alphas with all the therapy but I was glad to see that he could identify not only is need to deal with his past but Naima also had baggage she needed to shed. I was provide an ARC for an honest review.

Im not sorry for loving crazy heroes... Stone, Stone, Stone. He was so sexy. I just LOVE these borderline psycho heroes Ms. Theodora blesses us with. I loved how hard and sure Stones love for Naima was. He was a man who knew his own mind. And Naima may not have been crazy or part of a crime family, but she had her issues too. I could definitely see some people I know in Naima - her selfless nature was wonderful for others, but just terrible for her and her long term mental health. 5 star! OMGOODNESS!! This book was amazingly good. I LOVED Stone. He was so blunt, but so lovable. I have never run across an H like him. I admit to being a little hesitant about reading this book bc I read the excerpt in Keene. I knew Naima had been in a relationship with Stones brother, Rock. I just didnt think I would be into a storyline about her moving on with Stone. But guess what? It worked!! The author worked her magic with this storyline so it didnt seem weird at all. My only complaint: 5 star! OMGOODNESS!! This book was amazingly good. I LOVED Stone. He was so blunt, but so lovable. I have never run across an H like him.
