Oh boy. A whole book of Karen being bratty and whiny as she catalogues her gripes about the day. I was too worn down by the pessimism to care when things started to turn around for her.

Can Katy Farina just adapt every Little Sister book into graphic novels? They're so good, I'm even willing to overlook the glaring error she made when she mislabeled the Little House pets. Rocky is supposed to be the cat, and Midgie is supposed to be the dog. DUH. </s> Can Katy Farina just adapt every Little Sister book into graphic novels? Karen's day started off bad--she fell out of bed after a bad dream and then couldn't find her sparkly new jeans. But things just kept getting worse! She can't play with her friends because of her cast, the household pets keep running away from her, and even the ice cream truck is out of her favorite flavor. And no matter what she does, nothing gets better--she ends up having 14 bad things happen to her in just one day! That has to be a record, right? I have to admit, at first I wasn't feeling much pity for Karen, until we receive the reminder that she is just six. I associate the Baby-Sitters Club with 12-year-olds, so when I picture Karen, for some reason I imagine her closer to 9-10. While this is a quick read with a simple storyline, it may appease the constantly-growing desire for the next Baby-Sitters Club graphic novel (readers are always, always asking for more!).

Text-to-Self Connection Karen is having a very bad day! She believes this day cannot get any worse. I feel her pain, I have had plenty of days that I think will never end or never get better. Karen does not have a good attitude in this book and I feel that if she would have changed her view on everything bad that kept happening it will help her remain calm and accept this might not be her best day. I can relate but on bad days I just stop what I'm doing and reflect on my attitude and remain calm. Text-to-Self Connection Karen is having a very bad day! She believes this day cannot get any worse. Karen is younger but it is important to have children reflect on their self and not overreact when they don't always get their way. Her step-mother gave her the idea of pretend to wake up and begin on a new day; on the same day. This is a positive thing to do on a bad day!

It was a fun read and kept me interested the whole way through. It wasn’t my favourite of the three novels because it was almost frustrating how many bad things were happening to Karen. My heart broke when she yelled at Andrew. Andrew has got to be one of my favourite characters. He’s just so sweet. I’d love to see more adaptions of books in the series I grew up with such as Karen’s birthday and Karen’s wedding (I think that’s what it’s called).

I did not like this book quite as much as the previous two graphic novels in the series. Karen was a brat and cried about every minor inconvenience in her day. In the end, she slightly redeemed herself by apologizing for her behavior and expressing gratitude for Elizabeth, her stepmother.

Kind of obsessed with the way that most of Karen’s bad luck was her own fault lol. She wasn’t /as bad/ as she sometimes is though and that’s what makes the older little sister books easier to get through than the later ones.

I read these with my 6 and 4 year old and although we love the series, I think this one was a bit of downer. So many bad things happened to Karen, it went on forever.

Loved it! Cute book! Love this series!

Another cute entry in this series. I love how Farina draws the cat's expression, and the way Karen's older step-brothers helped turn her bad day around very sweet. Another cute entry in this series.
