And It Continues! Two stories about college students. Both of them turn out to be knuckleheads. The first fool makes a good friend at Cambridge, then interfere when he discovers that his friend is living with a family curse. The second twit spends a night cheating on his girlfriend, instead of studying for his LSAT. Of course he lives to regret it. Still part of a very good collection.

I doubt that I will ever see a story in one of these anthologies that will rank less than five stars. Volume 18 is no exception. The first story, David Longhorn's excellent "End Game", is one of the best I've read so far. It addresses just how far a curse can travel across time and space and it kept me awake at night. "Hush" by Taylor Charendoff was certainly no slouch either. In this one, a sensuous demon seeks to steal voices and doesn't care who or what must be destroyed to do that. I hope these short but excellent reads never stop coming. They are a bright spot in my day.

I think these are some of my favorite stories to date. The story about the chess board was by far the best in this book! It was one of those OH MY GOODNESS stories that leaves you wanting much more than what you got! Fabulous and spine-tingling all at the same time! If you enjoy things that go bump in the night, then you are going to love this book! Easy and quick read - perfect for right before bed!

"End Game" by David Longhorn: Classic British Gothic horror, with history fraught with danger and destruction, a cursed lineage, a bumbling American newcomer. Finely tuned story. "Hush" by Taylor Charendoff: Although I could summon absolutely no empathy for the foolish protagonist, I did find his comeuppance both surprising and very pertinent. An unusual and intriguing approach. "End Game" by David Longhorn: Classic British Gothic horror, with history fraught with danger and destruction, a cursed lineage, a bumbling American newcomer. I absolutely loved End Game. The way it turned out was so intriguing and a family curse on a game board says it all.... Hush was enlightening because the demon in the story stole many voices and created havoc and he destroyed anyone and everyone and just didn't have a care in the world. I absolutely loved End Game. I enjoy these short stories and have found the series to be entertaining. I will finish up the series with the current book I’m reading and get back to Kara and the Sun.
