This went a bit too far into the “generic third act of a superhero movie” territory, but otherwise, still, what a delightful book. I really hope this isn’t the last we see of Kate and Cate.

SUPER FAST REVIEW: “Yeah, can’t start living in the past. No matter how shitacular and scary the present is.” Decent volume, I enjoyed it but I didn’t love it as much as I loved the first volume. So it is actiony, sometimes funny, the family drama is more interesting than expected and the art is amazing! (Also some more giantess stuff, always a bonus!) Unfortunately the plot doesn’t 100% work. It does that whole Satan is actually the good guy thing while also having the main characters team up with SUPER FAST REVIEW: “Yeah, can’t start living in the past. Unfortunately the plot doesn’t 100% work. It does that whole Satan is actually the good guy thing while also having the main characters team up with Heavenly angels so... yeah, there’s plot issues. Especially since Heaven even has LGBT angels so it’s not going for the religion is bigoted thing. Also the main battle seems to be little more than “protagonists good, antagonists bad, hit each other”. So anyway, it’s a fun comic but didn’t blow me away like the first volume did. Interested in seeing what happens in volume 3 (though it’s less likely to include my favorite character so I don’t know how much I’ll like it...) 4/5

Fun second volume of this "horror" comic series This is a review of only issues 6 to 9 and does not include #10. I say "horror" because of all the demons but perhaps "supernatural" is a better description. Like the first volume, this deals with the continuing fight by Kate and her "soul" sister against the First Shadow and involves a lot of secondary characters. There's demons galore and some wit in the tale. It's ludicrous fun and enjoyable enough with simple and effective artwork. I said I was done at #8 then I read two more issues. Unsure who's dumber: me or this story. Great art and a fun story. It was really snarky and funny! I didn't love this one quite as much as volume 1 but I'm intrigued enough to keep reading the series. Great art and a fun story. A decent continuation of the series. Not quite as good as volume 1. Still a solid, fun read.

I liked the two main characters relationship and how they were connected. They run this agency that investigates paranormal disappearances and disturbances which often leads them to hell in order to retrieve lost souls. That part wasnt present at all in this second volume though. It mostly focused on the whole evil shadow taking over. Dont get me wrong it was still entertaining, but I probably would have loved it more had it stuck with solving different paranormal cases.
